Shoutout to the channel Forged in Walnut for posting the first real skeeball build video on youtube 2 months ago! It wasn't out when I started working on this :D
@Nate I saw that Discovery Channel is airing old episodes of "King of Random" with you and Cali, I hope your going to royalties from it .. ?
@@LucasJackson_37 Ooh, someone saw it! Neat! No, we don't get royalties.
Wow, do they Atleast shout out your new channel?!?
@@NFTIif they're using your image and likeness you should get something for it unless you signed it away. You might want to look into that. Don't let people use you to make them rich. Get your cut too if you have a cut that you deserve. ❤
@@7-ten We signed a deal when we filmed it. I'm not upset.
"Remember jointers are terrifying machines and you should be afraid of them."
Wise words indeed.
Love this! It feels like channels aren’t doing practical builds as much these days, so this kind of project is really fun to see!
Hey Nate, how qbout this Father's day, you bring your dad on to make a father/son project?
Also, you should make a wooden mallet
Thank you for always being so interesting and never having annoying music.
Funny, I literally went to Dave & Busters and played some SkeeBall last night and now I get to see Nate make one.
This is definitely one of my favorite builds!
Part 2: Calli tries to set it on fire.
part3 cali gets nakiddd and playfull... and gets drilled

This is amazing, these kinds of DIY videos are exactly what I miss you doing on the old TKOR channel
14:47 Gotta love when the temporary accommodation becomes an intended feature.
Commerical SkeeBall-style machines are designed for the playfield to be removed - the sensors are behind there, and need adjusted and replaced from time to time! They literally just sit in there - no screws, nothing, in the common ICEBall variant.
"It's gonna be alot of maming things up"
Yes, hallmark of a great project!
Skee Ball, Italian Soda Bar, Pizza Oven, Cotton Candy Machine, and multiple Barbecue Grills. Nate you are equipped for Summer social gatherings. 👍
Nice to see a longer video Nate I hope you've been well
I love skeeball! Never thought of making one diy.
5:03 2000% agreed as i recently had a quite serious injury with one to give a visual of how bad it was it came really close to the bone
Funny enough, used Skee-Ball machines have been coming across my Facebook Marketplace. And I see this? Love it lol
Is part 2 ready? I've been waiting for the electronics! Can't wait to see the finished product!
I second making things take out-able. I built an arcade cabinet years ago and built hinges into the control panel and just secured it with velcro. Was really nice to have easy access to the electronics, and I ended up storing a few things in there as well.
10:42 what i/we do at my work is use the wood puddy mixed in with pva glue in the end it basically made builder’s bog
Note to editor: Thank you for suppressing the track saw and grinding high-pitch sounds. As a person with sound-induced migraines, it's always a risk watching YT when a saw or grinder comes out. You made YT a safer place for me.
Awesome build! I can't wait to see what you add on to it along with the electronics.
This is one of my dream projects, love seeing you make it
This is really cool. I have definitely wanted my own skee-ball game.
I'm so glad you're making content like this. TKoR was such a great channel, sad to see its demise. But happy you're out here being awesome still! ❤
Cool video Nate!! Now, I want my own skeeball machine.
I feel as if Calli edited this video. 😂🤣😂
Why? Has she edited stuff before and this is similar?
@@Ekipsogel snarky captions
I like the design plus it's good to see someone try something a bit different like a skeeball machine. My one suggestion- instead of all the accomidating for the bolts you had running thru your ramp you could have run them thru the side walls instead and save yourself a bit of hassle.
Need part two 😂
I have used that Kreg pocket-hole jig set myself. I absolutely love it. By the way, I watched this on April 1st. The humor was way funnier.
As an employee of a hardware store that sells Kreg pocket-hole jigs/screws, I approve this sponsor! :D
I found this wood filler Durhams Natural Cream Water Putty 64 oz, it works great. It's a powder mix it with water It's like a joint compound but for wood live it
Ill make this as well this summer, thank you for the fun idea man. Like you said, We have always wanted one! Cant wait to see if you setup the scoreboard system on a Arduino board or went with a manufacturer product. Thanks.

Nate: "It's been five months."
Me: Typical DIY project...
Nate is Great!
This is a great idea. Good job and very fun video Nate👍🏻
Just a couple days ago I ordered the Kreg ACS Master Kit and can't wait for it to arrive
This is pretty cool.
I came up with a Unique Skeeball change: Instead of the two 100 point holes... there would be a single 100 point hole... that Slides Side to Side (motor and crank driven). This would make it a more interesting challenge, because you would have to have precision timing to land the shot. If one had the electronics skills.. one could also vary the motor speed... depending on the "Stage" or Difficulty you choose... (and it could also be static / off, or Erratic )
Another idea, was to change the board entirely, to using a 5x5? grid of holes. This would allow for various game types. For example... a 2 player game, where each player had to try to make a line of "5-in-a-row" (like the game "Fascination", or "Connect 4"). This would be accomplished, using multi-color LEDs, that would light up the Hole Bezels that had been Landed / Scored. When you alternate players, the dominant colors would change (IE: Red holes for player 1, Blue holes for player 2).
Various Games could involve having to land a specific hole, that lights up, within a set time period (before the light goes out). Points, or Bonus points... could also be awarded, based on how much time it takes to land a hole.
There could be Bomb / Trap holes... that are lit up a certain color... that you need to avoid. If you accidentally sink them in a Trap hole.. you would lose a ball / life. Or deduct points from your score.
A mini-projector might be used, to project images onto various parts of the machine... to create different environments.
A powerful shaker motor could be used for special effect modes... simulating earthquakes, storms, cannons... etc.
The main ramp.. could have a pop-up "bumper-cylinder" ..that goes up and down... if it has been triggered in a certain game mode. Thus, you would either have to shoot around it... or time a center shot before it raises.
Strobe lights, A Disco Ball, and or Laser Beams, could also be used for interesting effects / modes.
While most Skeeballs only release 9 balls per play... you could also have an Infinite ball return mode... to see how many points you can score within the Countdown Timer sets ...Similar to those Basketball hoop games.
If the game is driven by PC.. you could have specialized music, sound effects, and programable light-show effects.
Nate finally explained how he became so capable and knowledgeable without explaining how he became so capable and knowledgeable...... his dad.
I would lose my mind if you built a coin pusher. I’ve been trying to think of how to build one and I’m thinking a reciprocating saw, some leds, and a voltage regulator for the reciprocating saw to keep the motion going. Maybe even a gear set up for a multi level pushers!
Great video! Skeeball is one of my favorite arcade games eventhough i am not very good at it. Can't wait to see part 2!
Man, I would like to see how many hours went into the entire project by the end of it.
Suggestion on ball sensing: use optos instead of switches. Modern commercial machines use an infrared LED paired with a sensor. With the amount of abuse the switches would take from the balls, this will last MUCH longer. You can see the actual part used on ICE's website, though in the DIY spirit custom making PCBs would be the way to go.
Everyone up past midnight, UNITE!!!!
Yay! We're the feels like crap so we can't sleep gang! Or, the flcswcsg. 😂
I was up last night when he posted but never thought to check UA-cam because nobody posts videos that late😂
*The twist. Nate vs. Callie.* 🤔
Great work, just a question, wouldn't be easier to use the screws on the ramp just to glue them, and then removing them?
Can’t wait for part ll. !
Wow dope, I never even considered this as a DIY before.
Awesome video Thanks for sharing
I have wanted to do this for a long time and just got a Maslow 4 CNC. Nate, would you be willing to share the rough plans you made.
Curious, why did you choose rubber for the homes instead of pvc? Could heat the pvc and shape it.
nice video nate!
would have been fun to have Callie in for this build Nate 😀
When I was a kid I used to go to ShowBiz (yes, I’m old) and play Skee-Ball for hours. I was really good and would always win a shitload of tickets.
DUDE! I'm going to have to make one of these for my wife!!! Just started the video, but wondering if I'll have to figure out how to add a scoring mechanism... Maybe that's next? :D
Edit: Guess you DID do electronics!!! SWEET!
Such a cool project!
I didn’t know there was a name to this game. My childhood is now complete.
Noticed multiple times in this video where Nate could use a mallet instead of his hands or a piece of 2x4. Nate. Buy a mallet :D
So much fun
Very cool build!
Your dad seems to have a good setup himself.
A possible father/son build of some kind in the future?
I feel like you should put out the plans for this! People would love to make these
I don't really have "plans" for them at this point. I have the 3d model which is fairly janky and incomplete as a build goes. I was very much learning the software as I modeled it.
I might design a more user-friendly version though!
Happy Easter my guy
I put this on right when I woke up this morning. I was still in the post-wakeup haze when you mentioned the sponsor, so I missed it.
But when you started gushing about the track saw, I knew who the sponsor was. Nobody likes track saws that much.
What other traditional arcade games can you make next?
Nate That is a very nice project. I enjoy it a lot!
Ive wanted to build one of these for myself for a long time. although, I was thinking of mine having a clockwork increment counter activated by the balls going thru instead of electronic scoring.
Every skeeball game I've seen uses HDPE for the rings. you know the stuff hockey board trim is made of.
You didn't need to trim the all thread. Once that glue dried all that you had to do was un-bolt and remove them completely
And, here I was going to make DIY Easter baskets, this looks much better. Off to the Home Depot to get the plywood
Yes! jointers are terrifying
It is almost 1 in the morning the night before Easter, meh, I don’t need sleep
Cool skeeball and all, but what model is that leather jacket you have hanging in your shop?
Proud of you
Watching at 3 am lol
Thumbs up for Chicago screws.
I would love to see a collab with Even&Katelyn
I've always loved this game
You could have used a Craig pocket jig to make the 2x4s and then just to easily attach the top so that you wouldn't have had all those holes to fill.
Pretty NFTI build you got there 😜
Question ❓ Why pocket holes?
I just don't understand them as they aren't a regular thing here in the Netherlands.
Don't they just make the joint less sturdy by taking away material?
Cool new garage! I think that counts as a 5-minute hack
This is so cool!
@NFTI I noticed both you and your dad use the cleat walls for tool storage. I'm in the midst of a shop reorganization, and haven't settled on a new way of managing the first order of retrieval tools. How are you liking that system? Did you homebrew it, or use a pattern and plans set?
Love it, no patterns or plans used.
I’m bout to go to Home Depot right now so I can make mine
Nate is so adorable when he gets excited. Its like seeing a kid walk into Chucky Cheese. Lol
I predict the twist is an air cannon that blasts something into the player's face if they score high enough.
Update May 8, 2024: Second guess, the twist is a drink dispenser built into the Skee-Ball machine, like a keg or something. The higher you score, the more drink gets automatically dispensed into a cup as your reward.
Nate makes me want to become a better person.
I think I would have used vinyl baseboard moulding for the rings.
Ticket dispenser? (The full nostalgia build)
Alternative for the black rubber could be a different color of the nitrile rubber.
16:02 @ the Caption Guy; Wouldn't be the first time Nate made feet content. #JollyRanchers
Can solder and copper be used to make bronze?
I cut horse mats with a trim router with a sharp bit.
Next you should build a sit-in video game cabinet.
i still remember this guy from tkor and his slinky video
You should build a drift trike
Should consider a second channel for reaction videos
Step 1: have a father.
Everyone whose Dad went out for smokes and never returned: 😭
I can confidently say I've never dropped a circle saw bit.
Having never used one.
So nate, I have a possibly interesting idea that I feel you are perfect for, it involves your favorite liquid, ferro-fluid, and favorite non-neutonian item oobleck. What would ferro fluid oobleck behave like?
Where do the tickets come out?
