dunno what app she has on her phone, but Emily (from Chats & Reacts) looked up Alcott and said it is another word for "cottage' . maybe the OED? maybe it's a regional dialect? bc it wasn't in the free online dictionaries. Totally fits Taylor's cottage-core era, though! Also, I get the impression of the on --- again off --- again relationship; which, to me, links this thematically with her other duets in The Last Time, Exile, and Evermore.

I really miss your t-swizzle reaction and I'm rewatching some of it, like this. I think that the Alcott is one of the best song ever written (musically and lirically) and as someone going trough the feelings this song embodies, yeah. It's one of the worst and complicated feelings ever
