  • I a really starting to enjoy Ren's work. This video blew me away. Seeing Ren without his guitar, walking along the street and performing to camera, is a completely new to me. The fun and physicality of this video is mesmerizing and exciting. I really hope you enjoy, and if you haven't seen the original yet, please check it out here:
    • Ren - Bittersweet Symp...
Also, Ren is one of the few really popular artists who are willing to share their revenue with reactors and creators like myself. That's a real dude thing to do right there. Respect and appreciation to Ren and his team for that.

Great reaction as always👍 You got most of the translation of the UK phrases right! The cubical in this context is a bathroom stall (this ties in with the junkie and the spoon reference).
I love how Ren constantly subverts the viewer’s expectations - people who look and dress like him are not expected to use words like “juxtaposition”! 😂
Also his ability to use apparently throwaway phrases that may (or may not) have much deeper meaning. “As above, so below” may be referring to an Ancient Greek text which uses this phrase (thanks Google) to mean “that which happens in Heaven may also happen on Earth”. This would tie in with the surprisingly positive vibe of the song (almost nobody in Britain these days writes songs praising it). But as Ren sings “there’s poetry inside this city if you listen enough”. Nobody is a better observer of what goes on around them than Ren 😉

    Thx for another great reaction.
When you do the Money Games pls make sure you react to the lyric video of Money Game Part 2. The live version on the beach is just half of the song.

Your analysis is amazingly detailed and complex. Awesome. Why has youtube only now served your channel to me?! Yours is the most complete reaction to this song that I've seen.

Thanks for this thoughtful reaction and your humor. I never considered REN’s natural physicality that much before you pointed it out but it is another one of his talents. Don’t stress about the hair 😮it’s okay.

I hope to include the word "sysephistic" in a conversation at some point. I've never used the word thus far, though I know the Greek myth. I'll have to engineer the conversation somehow to get a good lead in and hit them with the word, stand back and wait for amazement. That's my life currently...

It's a sysephistic task ahead of you, but I have faith.

I'll take care, I fear the Rolling Stones, Keith Richards might be a Zombie, certainly looks a bit like one. I went a bit off-topic for the sake of a pun, sort of..

Great reaction, thanks! This is one of my fave Ren songs - well there's so many. I would love you to see the guitar work when Ren is busking with his band The Big Push (has it's own channel). All the guys are incredibly talented. I suggest their videos Wade In the Water/Nina simone medley (Ren does a fantastic bass solo), I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop medley, their cover of Fat Boy Slim's Praise You - but really any of their work is great, including their originals. BTW has anyone mentioned to you that you have the vibe of John of the VLog Brothers? I really liked it!

I've gotten Eric Wareheim, Hank Azaria, and my gf in high school said I looked like Pacey from Dawson's creek. But I'll take John too!

I really enjoyed your comment about Ren's movement in this video
And while I'm non-Indigenous, I appreciated your acknowledgement of the "holiday."
Looking forward to the Money Game videos!
MG1 is a seriously incredible bit of cinematography/visual story-telling, and my personal favourite.
MG1 is not necessary in order to listen to & enjoy MG2, which is generally the fan favourite (not sure if MG3 has overtaken it for that title or not). As soneone else has alreafy said, BE SURE TO WATCH THE LYRIC VIDEO. It's a rare instance of "the live version of this Ren song is the WRONG ONE to pick" (for an initial reaction, anyway).
Neither 1 nor 2 is *technically* necessary to have heard in order to appreciate MG3... but I can't help but feel that it's a little sad that a person's first impression of MG3 isn't as rich/nuanced as it could be, if they aren't familiar with 1/2 yet.
I enjoy MG3 an awful lot, and the video is impressive, but I don't think it can overtake 1 or 2, for me.
