  • This week we continue our adventure further west as we head to the Queenslands Central Highlands and set up in the town of Emerald. We are staying in Emerald for about five weeks where we spend some time with family and do a little bit of work to keep the show running on the road.
Just before we go to Emerald, we head out to Airlie Beach on Queensland Barrier Reef for a lunch date with some family that we have not seen for quite awhile and try our hand at crocodile spotting.
Then it’s off to Emerald we worked filling shelves at Woolworths throughout the week and visited a different MUST DO locations every weekend, on today’s episode we visit the Blackdown Tablelands National Park where we find a beautiful waterfall, some great campgrounds and go swimming in some fantastic rock pools. The Blackdown Tablelands National Park is located about 160 km from Emerald or about a two hour drive and it is well worth the trip to see the beautiful landscape which we thought was very much like the Blue Mountains near Sydney.
Next we load up the family and head out to Lake Maraboon where we check out the damn wall and its beautiful surrounds. We stop near the dam in the day use area for a barbecue lunch and I try my hand at making a McDonald’s burger for my grandson…..Quite successfully I might add. 🤓
