mini miner - "Bean", smallest part of coffee fighter - "Creamer", this is a maybe cause of its color welder- "The Barista", puts all coffee products together
Maybe instead of "Creamer" the "Frother" since it's bout to stir shi- up. (Although in hindsight how the mini miner behaved on the hinge it could be considered a "Frother" too 🤣)
nice ships. an event controller to turn off/on the thrusters when the connector is connected will fix that c/klang issue. Also ditch the O2 on the welder, go 02/h2 Generator. could even push out the battery on the other side and have two. and dont forget the conveyor caps.
Mini-ship: Tazo di Espresso. Fully in Italian because It's like-a the Vespa that you take-a to space. Molto bene! Figher: Mug. The arms on the sides remind me of the handle on a coffee mug. You'll find yourself reaching for it in times of need. Welder: Coffee Pot. It's bigger than the other two and you made one because you realized you had a lot of work ahead of you.
Whenever you have a connector on a sub grid, you need to immediately turn off your thrusters or inertial dampeners when you connect a ship. When weight on the sub grid changes it can change position and when it does, the ship's thrusters fire to try to keep the ship still and then the sub grid moves again which causes the thrusters to fire again and so on. It can get extremely violent and cause the sub grid to detach flinging the ship great distances. Share inertia tensor may help but it is definitely safe to turn off the thrusters or dampeners and this can be done automatically with an event controller.
17:03 Honestly, for something local like welder ship, you're better off just putting bottles in the cockpit cargo. As you deplete the O2 in the cockpit the bottles in the cargo will refill it. A couple of bottles in the cockpit and your air will outlast your batteries. Just remember to refill them periodically. 32:37 When I'm doing stuff like this I put the gyro overrides on so that it doesn't wobble. It stays on course (unless you bump into something) and you can manoeuvre with the ASDFs if you need to. But it keeps your alignment even. 36:23 It's because the dampers are still on the ship. So the thrusters are trying to compensate for the forces in the hinge and it creates this feedback loop that just escalates until boom. So, either turn off damps (or thrusters) the second you lock, or ramp up the strength of the hinge/rotor and hope to Odin that the thrusters can't do anything about it.
I've been watching your gameplay just now to try and understand this game better, as I've never played it. I'm thinking of trying it out! Your explanations and how you talk through things makes it very easy to digest and learn about this game's mechanics. It almost seems like Scrap Mechanic meets Star Citizen 😂
Started watching your content with this series. In the process of going through your 2021 series. Just a couple tricks I have found useful. 1. Open in game chat and type “/gps ” sets a coord at current location. 2. Using event block and timer for auto close doors. Put desired doors in a group. Set event block to door open and add all desired doors. Have it call the timer Set timer to desired delay (I use 1-2 sec) and add door group set to close.
I Think you should have a "plunge and rotary" drilling platform and a cargo drone at the CoFeNi Shop then have a massive refinery station where all your ores are refined and a seperate componemt manufacturing plant then have your supplies delivered to your base where you build you ships and heavy equipment, like wheeled vehicles escavators, cranes, lifts and the like.
I can verify plates don't deform and damage blocks below. I often use heavy armour panel "skin" vs heavy block for ships and bases. Sure there are easier to blast through, but don't splash damage
A couple of name suggestions: Welder: "The Brewer" (because you use it to "brew" new buildings) Drill Ship: "A La Carte" (due to it looking so bare bones) Fighter: "Fresh Grounds" (because (hopefully) you will "grind" your enemies into scrap)
I would call your little tiny drill the "Drill, Baby Drill!" [because 1 its funny when people say it (aka its a meme at this point, somewhat like "Run, Forest, Run!") and 2, its a 'baby drill'. Only difference I would do is a motorcycle cockpit on it. Because it would look better AND take up less space, making it easier to fit into a tunnel.
U should name the welding ship "Luwak" just like the irl animal Luwak takes a coffee beans and process it in their stomach into what we know today as coffee luwak, to keep the theme going
The miner is kind of like a ‘Voxel Scalpel’ The Fighter, ‘The Coffee Grinder’ or ‘Dark Blend’ The welder could be the ‘Coffee Pot’ For a future project, how about a station, or a large-grid rover/ship that would produce all your drones on demand, maybe even use the ‘event controller’ to detect when one is destroyed an automatically make a replacement. It’s ‘The Coffee Brewer’!
There are a few mods for small block O2 tanks that has 1x2x1 tanks so you don't have to have the massive tank. Only issue I've had with them is that in the planner before you've put the block in hot bar it doesn't like switching between the models and has occasional crashes. But in hot bar it works fine and I've been using them on my drop pods.
What about “Macchiato” (pronounced “mah-kee-AH-toh”) for the tunneller - it’s a little espresso sized coffee drink with a splash of milk to suit the white colouring. You could accent it by making it mostly espresso coloured with a white floor or other little circle of white facing upwards. 😄
I'm thinking Minnie Mouse for the miner as it's one of the smallest ones you've built so far and it's going into tunnels. I'm really liking the base layout. Enough so that I'm probably gonna use something like it when i finally get the game. On a side note, you may want to add some small turrets on the top of your base to hwlp out the wings.
Good idea, more turrets are definitely needed! I think I might replace the vanilla gatling ones with custom turrets too so that they pack more of a punch.
suggestions for names for the new ships Expresso shot...for the mini miner De-Caffinator for the fighter also turning dampeners off when you connect should help for future
Also I haven't played this is many years so keen to know.. the tunnel made, can something be made and run like trains are made but with a drill or welder on the front? So it's like an old mine cart system?
If you grind the drill off the small tunneller then you can add a welder and manually load it. since you only need steel plate interior plate and construction components. it will be slower than a larger ship but faster and less tedious than doing it by hand
According to the Build Info mod, armor panels are indeed non-deformable (and a large grid heavy one has 1650 integrity, vs 2500 for a full light armor block), but, as a tradeoff they are extra vulnerable to explosive weapons, much like functional blocks (which a quick test confirmed), and will pretty much be instantly destroyed by a direct hit from any such weapon. Also yeah the lookout tower isn't going to be anywhere near as defended as the military installation so you should have no trouble attacking it if you wanted.
Thank you for the info! I hope the heavy panel + light armor block + interior block is enough to withstand atleast a few hits while my defenses do their work.
@@AndrewmanGaming So long as they're not explosive attacks the heavy panels are better than half light blocks so they should definitely help yeah. I don't have the game open right now to check other blocks' integrities, but I would definitely recommend that Build Info mod since it tells you a bunch of other useful stuff too, plus overlays for stuff like welder ranges, and an air leak scan on air vents. I find it just as essential as Build Vision, really, so even if you're not looking to add mods to this save, it's something to consider for future ones
i know that im 4 months late and dont know if some one already said this yet, but for the mini miner. if you could use a programable block and use an altitude locker/aligner to keep a consistent tunnel height
I have an idea that might not work or be practical but for those inset lights over the connectors, you could potentially change the light colors depending on if something is connected to it or not.
With 16x small hydrogen thrusters for vertical lift, your welder ship will have 160,496 kg of lift on Earthlike. Allowing 20% or so margin so you can actually accelerate/decelerate, and a full container of cargo, that will be more than enough. How long your fuel will last is another issue.
ship names : for the digger i would call it worm... since its doing tunnels like a worm kinda . for the hauler looks like a fat waffle that you can eat with a coffe in the cofini outpost, and the figher really dont know i didnt get any wierd vibe out of it
You probably need to build another minor so that you can collect more than just one inventory full of nickel. You will probably need a storage wing to the base as well.
Absolutely true, storage is much needed. I was hoping I could solve nickel with the PAM ships but they're mostly doing Mg, Si, and Fe for now. Maybe another PAM ship is due.
It had been ages since I had played space engineers and this series got me back into it and this time got me hooked. So glad the weird way youtube works these days dropped your first episode on my recommended! Love the content.
You should set up the izzys inventory manager so you can have materials like steel plates autocratic into a buffer so you don't need to bulk queue then run out.
Been a while since I've played, but for your welding ship - could you remove the oxygen tank and just use the H2/O2 gen? I thought it had a small oxygen tank in it
It could be removed, but the ship would always need ice. Since it's a hydrogen ship it'll always be processing that ice into hydrogen so it would be tough to keep it stocked properly.
The drill ship should be called the Tiny Tunneler! I don't want my username mentioned if you pick this naming idea. Other Ideas: Mini Miner Dwarf Digger The Ship Which Can Fit Through 1 by 1 Doors
There's a new mod where it shows you the leak point of air pressure in your base it might help you with pressurising your base I can't remember what it's called tho because when I put this comment it's 1:30 in the morning 😂
Well as a Barista coffee names are kinda my thing. :D A "Doppio" would be a double Espresso Shot. Kinda fits for the fighter. ^^ A "Flat White" is basically a Cappuccino with a double shot of espresso (normally its only one shot) But my favorite would be "Cortado" . Thats a double shot of espresso with very less of milk foam. In your case the snow :D
It should! Hydrogen ships require a LOT less power than atmospheric ships since they are using hydrogen as the fuel (as opposed to the raw power atmos ships use). The power is only really being used for the O2/H2 generator, the conveyors, and other components.

I know I'm way late, but any ship with a lot of guns with a coffee naming theme should be called the Americano
For the Co-Fi-Ni outpost, you could add a screen with some “Employee of the Month” names from your supporter list.
That's a cool idea!
I’m genuinely waiting weekly for each episode, 10/10 stuff

The little tunnler clanged out because you kept the thrusters on so they where fighting the hinge. You should probably turn the thrusters off.
this, except i usually just turn off the dampeners so that when i get in and have forgotten i did it I can at least press up!
Mini-ship: Tazo di Espresso. Fully in Italian because It's like-a the Vespa that you take-a to space. Molto bene!

YES

GOD!
LOL!!!!
U should name the welding ship "Luwak" just like the irl animal Luwak takes a coffee beans and process it in their stomach into what we know today as coffee luwak, to keep the theme going
Great video
Welding ship: Bubba
Mini miner: pipsqueak or pip for short
Fighter: FAFO 😂
Thank God something new
The miner is kind of like a ‘Voxel Scalpel’
The Fighter, ‘The Coffee Grinder’ or ‘Dark Blend’
The welder could be the ‘Coffee Pot’

I love the coffee brewer idea!
I have an idea that is entirely too wild:
Base defense Mech with all the firepower.
26:02 It looks like the Great White Buffalo.. it's looks VERY stocky!
I’d call the small mining ship pathfinder
17:30 I laughed at that way harder than is probably sane. :D
i love the little drill skiff. the camera would bug out less if you used like, the buggy controls instead of the helm

Expresso shot...for the mini miner
De-Caffinator for the fighter
also turning dampeners off when you connect should help for future
Great names! I love the Decaffinator. Espresso shot is already used for the little tiny AI fighter things!
@@AndrewmanGaming thanks and ah yes i remember now... Mocha Latte?
“Flat White” could be a good name for the welder since it’s well, flat & white hehe
The name for the welschip, wellgunner 😊
looking at the mini miner, you could make a subway to safely transport your ore/bars between all 3 bases
Also I haven't played this is many years so keen to know.. the tunnel made, can something be made and run like trains are made but with a drill or welder on the front? So it's like an old mine cart system?

That's a good idea if it can store more stuff than I can carry in the drill alone!
@AndrewmanGaming it's more along the lines of it being capable of welding 2 blocks at the same time the capacity is 3,375L
If you do a welder, make it a rover. That way the wheels carry the weight for you.
That would work extremely well in the tunnel.

Welder - cold brew
Mini miner - pup cup

Tiny drill ship could be the Mini Press.
The mini miner looks like pingo when he does noot noot😂😂
Fighter could either be Double Shot or Pumpkin Spice for the orange decoy additions.
i know that im 4 months late and dont know if some one already said this yet, but for the mini miner. if you could use a programable block and use an altitude locker/aligner to keep a consistent tunnel height
47:32 Did you put a gyro on your ship?
Yes, all three ships have a gyro! It's possible I cut out me adding it in editing.
I have an idea that might not work or be practical but for those inset lights over the connectors, you could potentially change the light colors depending on if something is connected to it or not.
I think that could work. I'd need to make a script for it though since light color changing isnt so easy with timer blocks.
It would be neat if you made a shuttle that takes you to the other outposts using ai, Also the tunneler should be Scootie Puff Jr.
That would be cool! I think one day I might try to make a monorail that can do it.

you should call the welder spicy mocha because the welders get hot
Ooo that's pretty good! And the two hidden gats definitely add some heat.
You should set up the izzys inventory manager so you can have materials like steel plates autocratic into a buffer so you don't need to bulk queue then run out.
Mini miner : Santa slade
You should build a few decoy towers around the base

The marshmallow, the barista and the creamer @FenlamourGaming 😏
i havnt made a ship that fits through doors since long before the addition of the new thrusters that thing is so funny i want one
Mini miner: Lawn dart
Big ol' square should be called Cofeni Cake.
Or maybe, since it puts things together you could call it Barista.
The destruction
You need to get Build & Repair installed. It would save you so much time!
It would for sure, but I prefer to play without it!
The drill call it the mole
Hanger door on top so ships rise out, glass wall to look at earth 13:08
The tunneler should be named "The Stir Stick"😂
Call the fighter "The Caffeinator"
do you preplan your bases or do you wing it? i love your layouts, mine always turn out to be a jumbled mess lol
I wing it! It does help that I'm building it in parts and taking breaks between episodes. Gives me time to think of new ideas. And comments help too!
I’ve made a lot of mistakes with ships but one all have imbedded in my mind is a parachute for when I really mess up lol
reavers only attack that which has a radio signal if you turn off your suit radio you would likely be okie :)
I'd probably be fine myself, but my poor base has antennas everywhere with the AI ships!

Dwarf Digger

P was the WRONG BUTTON!! 😂😂😂
name idea, "The Rat" (like tunnel rat)
Have a feeling the fighter won't have nearly enough hydrogen storage to be of much use unless you don't plan on moving much.
We'll see! If it runs into too many issues I'll add a few more tanks.
poor co,fe,ni you should build a big sing post with lights and spinning . like a Starbucks sing lol
That's a really cool idea!!
I made a factory for refining and made where one would do only magnesium and so on and so forth and that helps a lot
Is your battery going to be enough for this welding ship?
It should! Hydrogen ships require a LOT less power than atmospheric ships since they are using hydrogen as the fuel (as opposed to the raw power atmos ships use). The power is only really being used for the O2/H2 generator, the conveyors, and other components.
Hydrogen thrusters are almost exactly the same thrust as Atmos.
Looks like the subs from The Abyss
Nice Video. can you upload the fighter mark 1 to the workshop?
Spicy? since you added some spice
Base building first then the tower
I amire you ship and such building ability.
