- Rare Vintage Boomaroo Toys Tip Truck Restoration.
Boomaroo name derives from a combination of the words 'boomerang' and 'kangaroo' . The company made a range of pressed steel vehicles and other toys in competition with other Australian manufacturers such as Wyn-toy and overseas toy companies such as the Buddy-L.
The model I restored is a front loader tip truck. It was missing the front bucket but my kid didn't want this added.
Note : Boomaroo advertised their toys as lead-free baked enamel.

Love how you involve your child in your videos. Great restoration job, by the way.
@@marchills4131 Thanks for watching 👍
That was a beautifully detailed model in the first place. And you restored it to better than new - almost too perfect! Great work.

Outstanding restoration!!! You have a mastery of many mediums to achieve this amazing result!!! I still have my old trucks from the 1950’s. I took good care of them since they were my only toys. I was raised to take care of my things. You did a great job bringing back the truck!!! Well done sir!! The Old Army Scout…

Another beautiful restoration! Wow! I always enjoy watching you and your children restore these old toys. And she's already hauling loads of legos in it😂 Thanks for sharing

Great video and result mate. Turned out flawless. That truck was pretty beat up and rusty. Not as bad as someone’s bicycle lamp posted recently but it would have been a challenge . I’m glad to see your kids are using it for its intended purpose.
I was surprised you didn’t chuck the wheels into the ultrasonic tank to clean, but they came out nice anyway.
Good to see your work again.
@shedmanx3640 Thanks, Mr. M.Hope all is well on your side. We picked up this toy at an antique shop last year, and the little has been wanting to play with it ever since. Luckily, it was as bad as that bicycle lamp cause I would have just chucked it in the bin 😆.
Top notch work!
Ready for more decades of play.
Really nice truck with lots of play value.
@Fourwheeljive Thanks for watching. Yes, ready for many more years of play 😉👍
Very nice work !! It looks amazing!!👍👍

That's why you are the Thunder From Down Under!!! Flawless restoration as always! "Jim" is looking fresh and ready to go! Love the song will be adding it to my dance it out play list.

Mmm Little driver Jim now who does that remind me off. Brilliant video buddy. So many things I loved about this video, I will have to send you list. Well done on an amazing result 👍👍👍
@Austeration Thanks buddy. As always, I truly appreciate your support. Takes another person who does similar things to truly understand how much works goes into every minute of a video 😉. Little driver Jim ... kinda had to throw that in there... ya know 🤣
Brilliant video
@@TTown. Thank you 👍
There's something I haven't seen in decades! Last of the Boomaroo Toys I'd seen was a road grader, a tractor & a Golden Fleece fuel tanker. Recently, I saw a tanker on Gumtree... $4,100!
7:27 Twinkle Toes by Sketchers... as a tailgate is sketched out. That's hilariously fitting, pun intended! 🤣🤣
That just made my month! Black gloves, Dremel... 👍🏼👍🏼 I do believe Jim will like his restored ride!
@KevinD_33x150 Oh mate, absolutely get the sense of humour. That is hilarious 🤣. I found this one in a little antique shop in the middle of nowhere. Couldn't go past it 😉
@@LittleRestorers We'd be stuffed without a (warped) sense of humour! 👍🏼🤣🤣
I don't blame you. I wouldn't leave it there, either. The Mrs walked in as I was watching the transformation from before to after. Her eyes almost popped out of her skull. She said: "That's fantastic!" quickly followed with: "You guys are addicts!" Agreed. 👍🏼🤣🤣
@@KevinD_33x150 Guess you will have to show her a few more of my videos now 🤣
@@LittleRestorers I showed her your list. She liked the pram & rocking horse & she'd like to start with those.
I might be in trouble now! she's told me "we've" got a rocking horse & a pram coming... Thanks for the notice! 🤣🤣
I (apparently) now have a list of things "to do for the grandkids".
Nicely done and great to see it being used too👍🏻

Back when toys were made tough. That piece is probably a couple of decades before my time but I had and loved my Tonka trucks. 2:44

Loved the sweet singing while you sand blasted the first few things. Is she your daughter? She has a lovely voice. 😊😊
@@cathybenson5119 Thank you so much for your support 👍
I remember these trucks. In the days these were built, they didn't include interiors such as seats, dashboard, steering wheel, shift lever, I think Tonka was one of the first to deck out their trucks with interiors.

Cracking restoration, now when you were restoring the driver you put him in peroxide and left him for 'a few days in the Sun', what do we do here in England?😂😂😂
@@kevinfoster926 Thank you. You might have to fly to Spain for a bit of sun 🤣😉
Nice
@@pearsooo6972 Thanks 👍
Jim now has a new ride. Well done. A fantastic job.
@Dalesworkshop Thanks Dale. Jim is a happy little driver 😁
really...flame effect before and after transitions.....now you are just showing off :P ....nicely done.
do you get any seperation or cracking on the powdercoat after bending? does it depend on powder type for its elacticity or adherence?
@charlesK001 haha - yeah I just learned that new transition effect. Imight as well use it twice 😉. Was super careful bending those little lips. Luckily no cracks as the metal is very thin and flexible so there's a bit of tolerance as long as you gentle 👍
😂good“s🎉‼️

Im gonna get a a snorkel , a giant clear beaker full of brown vinegar and sit in it in the sun for a few days see of i can unwhiten myself a bit ...... And reverse that process , wow you went all out with the wheel count this time. this looks really nice , again the amount of work you put into your rrestorations is never shown on camera ! A quick question , if you didnt use paint stripoer how much longer would it take to blast down to metal ? Thats a nice vise btw ....
@toolrestoration Sun in England? 😁. To answer your question - why strip the paint of you are going to sandblast it anyways. My 2 main reasons : It reduces the amount of contamination in the blasting media.
Chemical stripping takes care of any lead base paint, especially when there are multiple layers added over time. 😉
Very few people can so thoroughly undo the ravages of time. And you are definitely one of them.
@@Sir_Uncle_Ned Thank you. Appreciate your comment 👍
