  • Made by ORFAC Holland in true Zaanze Dutch Style with German movement from Hermle.
This was a project I started last year and finally got to finish.
Orfac began its journey in the early 1960s and continued to create beautiful timepieces until the 1990s. During their prime, Orfac was renowned for crafting the cases of their clocks in-house, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. The clock movements themselves were primarily sourced from the esteemed German manufacturers Hermle and Kieninger, ensuring top-notch precision and quality.
Note : The clock movement solution is very concentrate and it stripped the black coating on some of the non brass parts. Not showing the product as would not recommend.
The homemade brass cleaning solution was experimental. It took a few goes and mix ratios to get the chain completely cleaned.
Dit is een originele Orfac Klok !
An Ultrasonic Cleaner is the best tool for cleaning clock movements.

I love antique clocks. I have a French mantel clock from 1875-1890. It has a functioning alarm clock. The clock is all original and works.

Well that was just brilliant Sir. I bet there was a lot of time spent on this one. I really loved seeing all the Brass shine again and the fact you replaced all the plastic and silver screws with brass replacement parts. Grandpa would be proud to see this one have a second life. Well done. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Oh and the sound track at the end, that's just next level stuff.

Thank you my friend. I started this project middle of last year but had to put it aside as I was struggling with one particular part. Am glad I finally got to finish it. 😊👍

@@LittleRestorers oh I bet you are. There is nothing like getting to the end of a long term project. I would have helped you out engraving the clock face.

Am guessing that would have been a real challenge to replicate that design 🤔

You knocked this one out of the park mate. A very complex restoration job which you handled with your usual flair. I know that restoration is not as easy as it looks as my dad used to repair old clocks and watches in his spare time when he was alive. I could never get my head around all the bits and how to put it all back together.
I would love to know what your home made brass cleaning solution is, as it brought up the chain beautifully.
Good to see you again and great to see you tackling a different project. I’m sure your views will skyrocket buddy.

Thanks, mate. As always, I greatly appreciate your support and friendship. And yes, this thing gave me massive headaches, as many things didn't work until I finally got to understand how the movement works and fine-tuning through trial and error 😉👍

Well I watched and thought another hidden talent clock fixing , was well impressed then you revealed the for donkeys guide and I lost a bit of my awe momentarily, then gained it back for you having told us,( you coulda kept it a secret) you sure are a genius ,i thought at one point if it didn't have 3 wheels you wouldn't go near it .... What a great self challenge , learning process and result . Thank you for sharing !

Just thought I needed something with a bit more challenging than 3 wheels 😁. I thought about you a lot when I was editing this video, as there were a bit of swearing that I had to cut out 🤪🤣.

Wow, that is a beautiful restoration job you did on that weight-driven Dutch clock. It looks much better and you adjusted it and got it working like a charm as well. Excellent work, even though you have never restored such a clock before, as you said.

I did wonder, if at some stage, you had a clock in mind. Here it is! Another very well done piece. 👍🏼👍🏼
A steady pair of hands & plenty of time well spent. (All pun intended! 🤣🤣)
Heavy balls! As soon as I'd seen that, the first thing that came to mind was an AC/DC song from 1976... 🤣🤣

I am trying to find out some information . I rebuilt a Zenon wind up pendulum clock. For the first two years it was spot on never lacked a sec. Lately it is running way too fast. In two days it is 1 full day ahead. How can I slow it down?
