“The belt belongs to nobody” I love that. Some good humility. Congrats Leon.
Best MMA quote ever !
@@o.m.y.oldmanyoungen2023 it has to be really.
I agree and I know what he means. It’s like owning a house. You may have it for a little while but eventually thru sale or death it gets passed on to someone else.
Fav mma quote! Leon is beyond humble
Ya that's a great line from a true champion
Not a long time ago everyone was criticising him for getting rocked by nate and now he has won the heart of the whole mma community things change so fast in this sport you gotta love it.
Just means nate diaz really is the best fighter I guess
@@hellasforever6242 how?
That's the way it should be. A fighter should never demand the respect of the community, You do it like this and EARN it. I'm happy for Leon 👏
@@RomesPompeii well do the maths.
Leon couldn't finish Nate and as you said, he nearly got finished by Nate instead.
Now with leon having ko'd marty, the maths is clear. Nate diaz #1
@@hellasforever6242 MMa math do not works.
I've been watching UFC fights consistently for about 15 years. This was one of, if not the best KO I've ever seen. It wasn't just the strike itself. It's the context.
Agree!
And the wave of the fight. We saw champ get his back taken and controlled like we never had seen, then him get in a rhythm looking like typical Usman. Leon was setting up that high kick alot and just had perfect timing late to get that victory. Insane watching it all play out how it did. Leon’s heart or confidence never wavered.
Out of the blue, methodical, and textbook execution.
It was amazing, head kick kos are my fav
👌👌👌👌
Props to Leon’s head coach. He was telling him everything he needed to hear after each round fighting a guy like Usman.
Don't slurp when you eat C C grandma Dona is mad at you
I thought he was boutta slap Leon
I was yelling that the coach needs to give him a slap. After rd 4, i was sooo disappointed. I knew Leon was a true threat as his style was dangerous for Usman. But he was so gun shy that Usman was not respecting him in the octagon. But that head kick. Damn!
His head coach was just shouting and screaming like an idiot
Yeah props to the coach but Leon literally did nothing they said. Whole fight throws nothing, I genuinely was rooting for Leon to win but after getting donning 2,3,4 and 4mins of 5 a fluke headkick that’s just luck
Leon's head kick is historic, even better than Holly over Ronda.
Idk overall, It was pretty sweet to see Ronda get KOd especially since she had so much Ego. More satisfaction lol
But for the kick KO, Edwards edged it.
@@marty2970 Idk Marty. Marty’s ego was pretty up there as well. Quick to talk about 205 and Canelo with Left Leg Larry in front of him.
Oh no, I gotta disagree. It is probably the best for a finish in welterweight UFC history. But better than Ronda? Nah.
@@DestroyThoseThatDestroyUs Best finish in WW history has to be Serra on GSP, that was a massive shock. If you're talking technically then yeah Leon's KO is prob the best

This victory of Leon is up there with Charles Olievera's win for the most joy I've felt with someone's championship win. Doesn't matter how long they carry it further but the work these guys put in, for that they deserved to be called champion at least once.

I shed a few tears when he won. The struggle he’s had to get a title fight, the dejected look he had while being wrestled by Usman for 3 rounds straight, then to hear his backstory and come up. Just amazing very happy for him. Didn’t know much about him before the fight but it’s just different when someone’s had to defy the odds so many times to win a title.

Usman was literally being called the goat for the last 6 months, pound for pound #1, never lost in the ufc, and one fight away from legend status. For Leon to go out there and knock him out stiff is actually insane. I don’t think we’ll see a moment like this for a very long time
@Mark Berenger Jon Jones is the GOAT. Period. No fighter comes close to him.
Adesanya is next
@Mark Berenger You didn't have to the same way no one asked for yours, I gave it. No point being a stuck up cow because you have no idea in what you are talking about. Jon Jones is the greatest to ever done it no fighter comes close to him as of right now. He is virtually undefeated in the game He is With 26 wins and one loss (one no-contest). He has the most wins in title fights (14), the most wins in the light heavyweight division (20), the joint-most successful title defences in UFC history (11), the joint-most submission wins in the light heavyweight division (5) and the longest unbeaten streak in UFC history (18). Jones is the youngest champion in UFC history (23 years and 242 days). His fight against Alexander Gustafson at UFC 165 has been inducted into the Fight Wing of the Hall of Fame. Even the calibre of fighters Jon jones has bet such as DC for starters and 3 times. Anyone That doesn't think Jon Jones is the greatest doesn't know what they are talking about that is a simple fact. Fighters such as Khabib (An amazing fighter) that got the belt and retired are no where near Jones. Jon's is probably the most balanced fighter there is. Usman was close in certain aspects but he wasn't there in terms of accomplishments and he certainly isn't there now with the KO.

Respect to Usman, amazing pressure.
Let's see him replicate it. He was losing the fight until he wasn't, fair play he caught Usman slipping and beautifully set it up, but this was 1 time thing. I do not see that ever landing again.
@@RealityClubX exactly what im thinking g, coming to the trilogy fight, usman will be more wrestling based because he knows that leon cant compete with him, but still will be active on the feet, but realistically, every champion faces adversity, its how they over come it in the next fight, like serra v gsp, you become a better fighter, he just needs to remember the last round is 5 mins instead of 4 haha

And now everyone who hated him loves him lol glad to see him make everyone eat crow…great win champ!!!
He just put the guy into the shadow realm and you question his chances of winning the rematch?
I think he’ll look a lot sharper in the rematch - the effect of the altitude was very apparent after the first.
American fighters don’t perform very well overseas & rematch would be at Wembley. I don’t think Kumarus gonna ever recover fully. But you never know every fighter is different but Leon would be a beast on his home turf.

Got a bit chills a couple of times realizing how great of an achievement this was. So happy for Leon, his team and family.
This guy is soooo humble, congrats and respect Bwoy .
First he took Usmans take down record, then his belt with that head kick KO. Legendary stuff.
Along with his soul as he is granted admission into the shadow realm ☠🙅♂️😇 he also took away usmans chance at breaking Anderson Silvas 16consecutive wins record 😬
