    Honestly out of the 3, they are all ultimately really good cars. I reckon when all 3 are setup properly, they are as good as each other, as their max steering angle is almost identical.
    I wouldn't personally compare how each car handles towards each other as I've learnt over time that pretty much with variable setups and different bodies, you can actually make all the cars handle the exact same(I actually managed to setup my modded DRZ V1 to handle the same as my GLD). What's more important is what sort of setup ability each offers for the price, how smooth the steering is, and the maximum steering lock they can achieve.
    The most important is how much time you put into setting up the car.
    I've seen people had issues drifting the GLD or the DRZ, but at the same time also see some guys pulling insane slides from both camps.
    I got a friend who has an XRX but had a horrible tune on it that I had trouble drifting it, but from the steering mechanism and the build quality I knew it's definitely a really good option.
    Objectively I think price wise the XRX and DRZ V2 are the better budget options, but really can't go wrong with any of these cars if you put some time into them.
    I personally don't have issues with setting the ride height just by using the springs, as usually I feel with this scale, preloading the suspension actually doesn't really help handling.
    Hopefully in the 2nd batch onwards the GLD would have less QA issues, as it seems like you and Beaver had trouble with the ball links as well as some people on Facebook.
    For the GLD I had no issues with the chassis except the gears(which I got a free replacement for) and sadly a faulty servo(also replaced).

      Does your DRZ2 have functioning steering limiters? The ones that came with mine are about 1mm too short & Kim Kim advised that the first batch went out with the wrong length limiters...

      Ok I will double check. I think its a tightness in the steering ball ends, I was carefull in not tying to loosen them after I tried to adjust one after watching the video demo and nearly destroyed it 😂. My kung fu grip... Not designed for mini rc.

    Very thorough comparison. Thank you very much. I think you can't go wrong with any of these, it's just the personal preference which driving style you prefer.
    By the way have you got any problem with the XRX's diff? I've heard the drive cups are quite fragile and ball diff wear out rather quickly.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks Mr B. Rear diff was locked. Unless I've got a faulty one. Lol. I haven't opened the gearbox yet. I've done most mileage in the xrx and so far ok. I am going to run on RCP which usually brings out faults a lot quicker. I've been stuck for time and really could have down a 3 hour video and taken it apart.

      @@GarageMiniRCUK Indeed. It just occurred to me on 2nd viewing that your XRX didn't comes with the A11CLS servo but the wheels don't shake. DRZ V2 has practically the same servo but it's spazzing out. That's interesting. I thought the gyro shake comes form the standard metal gear servo and would happen to any car with the similar one. Atomic gyro itself is really good so I don't think it'd come from that.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  3 роки тому +2

      The next batch of xrx will come with the new generation of gyro. I think the suspension may have been jamming up and causing the gyro to misbehave on the drzv2 by sending vibration . It's an odd one as the car drifted pretty well on the short circuit.only other thing was the other cars had wide rear wheels.

      Depends on what you want it for. If it's for more 1/24 scale and don't mind magnetic mounts the drift art 2 is very good(not easiest with mini z bodies) . I find it a bit slow and I still love my xrx.

    On the drz2, it seems you have your gyro to high, that will cause wheel wobble. I’m sure you know that now lol. I run a fully built gld, and a drz2 le, comparing the 2, my DRZ2LE slides much better then my gld, out of the box. The gld really would benefit with steering stoppers, I tune off the stopper max lock angle. I think they fixed the binding issues on the drz2 with the longer DRZ2LE front upper and lower arms, and the right spacers I’ve had no issues out of the box, I can see it’s still close but doesn’t hit. Anyway good video!

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, I fixed my drzv2 by using spacers on the bulkhead. Just haven't got round to making a video. The gyro was faulty, I replaced with a v3 gyro. No issues now. Although diff is not great. My gld I replaced all he arms with alloy and alloy bulkhead. Also made my own steering stops. Handles really well now. 👍🏽😁

      @@GarageMiniRCUK ahhhh genius, With the Gld! I’ve been trying to think of a way to make my own, I thought about flipping the ball studs over, and using the xrx ones. Though I don’t know if the threading is the same. I really want my gld to slide good. Even after upgrading everything besides the rear gear case and diff, the front still feels a lil flimsy. Currently is chilling with no electronics besides the servo on my desk lol. I’m glad you fixed the drz2 it’s really a decent chassis. I had got the gld first, I’m newish to 1/27 rwd, been doing 1/10rwd for the last 6-7 years, before that it was all 4wd for me lol. When I saw that mini rwd drift cars existed about a year ago, I freaked out, it was when the drz1 and hld were really the only 2. My buddies talked me out of it back then. It never left my mind I knew I wanted to get into 1/27. Finally a year later, I’m sliding happily lol. I was really shocked on how easy it was to slide the DRZ2LE felt like my 1/10 extremely built yokomo/Kamikaze yd2s, just mini lol. Now I want a drift art 2.5 just to try out. Super G sells a already built one it’s just not cheap. I’d do the kit version but the already built one comes with a afrc servo installed. I’m using on my DRZ2LE a 3500kv sensored gl racing motor, there sensored esc, afrc servo the purple one, a afrc v3 gyro, which all v3 I’ve learned are the same lol. I have a atomic v3 gyro sitting around, and they look identical, which they sure are. If you really want to laugh I put a afrc v3 gyro in my yd2 just for fun, I still have it on there because it functions so well. Plus I get funny looks, when the see the size of the gyro lmao. Anyway thanks for getting back to me. I enjoyed your video and a few others I watched of yours. Much love!

    So I have a question I'm totally new to micro drift rcs but how does the xrx handle with it's sensorless motor? I always thought you needed a sensored motor/esc to prevent claggering at low speeds? Does that not apply to the micro scale?

    • @GarageMiniRCUK

    I just ordered a GLD. Are there any upgraded parts that I should order right from the beginning? Also if I wanted to change the wheelbase is that just a matter of buying the brass chassis? I’m debating on shortening the wheelbase to 90mm and running a 911 body. Would a shorter wheelbase be easier or harder to operate. I have quite a few mini Z’s and GL racing cars but this will be my first drift car.

    • @GarageMiniRCUK
      @GarageMiniRCUK  3 роки тому +1

      I've found the 90mm easier. Motor is more centred in the mass. Adjustalbe chasiss can be carbon or brass. I would get alloy bulkhead and alloy knuckles and hub front and rear. Spare plastic ball heads. Castor adjsutment alloy. I found adjustalbe shocks useful. Be careful when setting up ball ends. Make sure aligned both sides.

      This is not easy. I prefer the handling and set up of the xrx dpa. Some of things in its set up annoy me and some of the plastics are cheap. (my car is all alloy) . But overall I found it to be easiest to do what I want with. My friend Chris loves his GLD but only after I tuned it for him. Another mate Linus loves his drift art. Here are the reasons I love it compared to other cars.
      Easiest to fit mini z body or magnetic mounts too.
      I like the gearing. I like the layout in single deck from.
      My new fave is the DWX3. But I still prefer xrx for mini z bodies. The ht1 if it had alloy options is good but I don't like the gearbox. Drift art 2 is good. Too. Mini
      Z bodies difficult with front set up. Hoeo this helps
