King is buried in the cemetery behind my ex in-laws house and my ex's grandmothers house in Uvalde. Been there many times. My ex-wife used to talk about playing around Kings grave as a little girl when visiting her grandmother.
Great comments. Black lives, White lives... Thank you for being so honest... Without racism, without innuendo. Thank you
This episode was the best yet, you opened up a bit and spoke your mind. I respect that.
This kid is great 👍
"I got spurs that jingle jangle jingle." -- King Fisher probably
LMAO!!! 😂😂😂 You could be right!!!
Your "world summary" near the end was epic. Now, update it to june 2023 lol
Haha, I forgot about that. What should be included in a new one?
@@WildWestExtravaganza there's so much to choose from lol . Just do your thing
Bengal tiger chaps? Joe Exotic would approve 😂😂😂😂 good story bro, great job telling it!
I really get a kick out of the way you do your podcast. Thanks for the enjoyment.
Thanks!
The comedy you insert into these stories is much appreciated 👍
I had never been on social media when you did this podcast I'm going back and listening to all of the episodes Thanks Young Man
The rant at the end of this particular one is epic
Favorite sidebar (so far!). That commentary at 19 minutes was PERFECT!! I was completely absorbed in the narrative about the woman experiencing the big changes of the 20th century,(cuz my great grandma was born in 1896 and died in 1992. She was a gem and I could just sit and chat with her for hours and hours!!!). Then ya walk us over to the smorgasbord of real life "Idiocracy" (the radio documentary). Perfect presentation, and dead on accurate! But also, I sure appreciate how you just roll on through the swamp of reality and make the best of it.
... Btw, MY errant bullet went through the floorboard of my Grandpa's Pickup. Coming in from a very late night coon hunt, VERY cold winter in Wells, TX, my fingers were freakin' numb, and I was dropping the hammer to half cock, my thumb just quit on me!(gun safety really works!) My grandpa and I looked at each other, a couple seconds of silence, the he said, "you tell no one about that or those women in there will eat us alive and we will never get to go hunting again" He was a calm and cool character. Talk about changes,... picked cotton near Henderson as a boy, parachuted all over western Europe in WWII, and emailed his great grandkids in his lifetime. Thanks again for your very entertaining enjoyable podcasts!
Wow, I bet your grandpa and great grandma had some amazing stories!
Great story BB! Enjoyed it again very much!👍 You got me at 23:30 though...😂😂 Priceless!
Thanks for listening, Daniel!
LMAO, the commentary was unexpected but spot on. Thanks for a great episode
Dude there is like only 5 videos on this ENTIRE SITE that discusses Fisher and this one is the best without a doubt. Good vid!
Thank you!
That Saloon still stands in Eagle Pass, Tx. On main st. Catty corner with the public library. Next to the Maverick gas stop.
Man, you are too much. From start to finish with each podcast you have me laughing in stitches!
Wow, thanks!
Not long ago I saw a post on FB that featured an old photo of a cowboy with leopard chaps that I believe were being sold retail for a short while, until the tails ran out I guess. I belong to a few groups that focus on old photos and their restoration. Somewhere out there is a picture of them and there is a good chance King Fisher was somehow involved.
What I thought was the end wasn't the end. And I'm so glad I listened to the end. You had me in stitches. Thank you for bringing some laughter and levity to my day.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I know I just commented on another video of yours last week. And I’m not trying to podcast stalk you. But this video had me rolling with your humorous delineation of current events. What a talent you’ve developed. Okay, I’ll slip back into anonymity lol
Thanks! Please comment as much as you want
Damn Josh, do not go silent into that good night, rage, RAAGE against the machine! I enjoyed your oratory on the state of society we find ourselves in
Huh?
@WildWestExtravaganza Fancy way of saying give em hell. I took liberty with the the words and original spirit of the thing. Here I quote the poem by Dylan Thomas."Do not go silent into that good night. Old age should burn and rave at close of day, Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
Yep, Fancy way of saying give em hell
As I recently have fallen upon your channel at the recommendation of one of simon whistlers shows shout out I absolutely love your take on events over 3 years later and how much more to add on your rant on how much can happen in a year makes me appreciate the everyday simple life i get to enjoy in the usa
#RIP to Horombe
Awesome! Thank you! And welcome aboard
Dude what a tremendously enjoyable episode! Listening with my son.
Thank you!!!
You made me laugh describing how King Fisher dressed, then saying he couldn't look more gay.😂 The poor tiger, losing its life just because the Fisher fancied its stripes. Seriously, if that animal was part of a circus, it had an owner, and I doubt King Fisher reimbursed him.
@@KathleenCalhoun-em6ys I doubt it as well
That stuff that starts at like 2 minutes is genius Josh that is so hilarious all of it
I'm here two years (almost to the day) binging your channel. I just subbed a few days ago. Your rant in this video was fucking great. I needed that laugh. You sir are phenomenal. Love your work.
Love the ending monologue.
Great episode.
The rant at minute 19 was one any comedian would be happy with.
Not sure about those tiger print chaps.
You've got an awesome podcast dude I would love to have one of these every single day but there again you have that day job but I do have to say you're doing a great job and I love it a whole lot and you make me laugh
Man this was good, heard of him but wasn't aware of his life. I vist Clay Allisons grave all the time while in Pecos. Live in Austin gotta visit Bens grave.😁👍
Ah very cool! I've visited the spot where Fisher was killed but that's it
Another great one, I gotta get my friend Bigfoot some of those chaps, he loves the podcast. Bigfoot lives matter.
My man
@@WildWestExtravaganza Lookee here, l am from Texas. And at about the 6:00 minute mark the narrator mispronounced Dimmitt County. We don't pronounce it Di- mmitt, but Dimm-it.
It's an honest mistake, me being a lover of history and geography l ask locals how to pronounce certain places or a stream, mountain, etc.
Anywho, l'm gonna get back on this here video. Y'all take care.
Cary, thank YOU! Management felt the same way and we finally parted ways with the narrator yesterday. His blatant disregard for the proper pronunciations was the last straw and we had him clean out the desk. Here's to new beginnings!
@@WildWestExtravaganza off with his head!!
Thanks again BB, another great episode!
Just love your stuff mate, Keep it going! 🙂🙂👍
😂😂😂...love this 1000 times just for the last 5 minutes!!! .but seriously, love it...great episode.
Glad you enjoyed it
King Fisher's pistol was buried with him originally, but was taken from his coffin when the body was moved to make way for a new road/highway. The pistol is now supposedly in the possession of the owner of Cimmarron Firearms - Mr. Mike Harvey. It's a nickel plated and ivory handled colt. Mike Harvey has a UA-cam video on it: ua-cam.com/video/0leFhz7_4jo/v-deo.html
Ohhh interesting
I have it and gold shake and my grandfather gave me a 12g from the time too
Never heard of this guy but what a great character of the Wild West, thank you again for another excellent vlog B.B. Best wishes from Sunny Scotland :)
Best wishes right back atcha from Texas
I hear everything is bigger in Texas lol :)
Thnx again for this episode my man!!! I’m sure Gpa will love it. Listening to it as I Type now!!! Bloody BEaV isss theee shittt!!!
Hope he liked it
I am proud to say I never once shot myself, while sober!
Same
The extra curricular adjectives and comments are On Damn Point. To the point and sometimes down right filthy. I personally love it. If the history channel had any lick a sense, they'd be beating down your door "Dirty Josh".
Great episode. I really do respect your honesty and admitting when you’re wrong.
Cheers. 🇨🇦
I'm wrong a lot!
@@WildWestExtravaganza
Me too.
Well, it’s lucky that we’re both married because it’s good to know how often we’re wrong too.
Gotta lov’em!! Cheers. 🇺🇸🇨🇦
Holy shit...stumbled on this , cause I like the ole west!
I had a negligent discharge once. Named him Junior. Middle name was “Accident.”
Ha
The comments at the end was so frickin great. I had to listen to it 5 times
loved the way you finished this.
huckberries were a design on coffin handles..i think
The rant at the end...awesome, just awesome!
Never heard of him but this is a great story.
Huge legend here un mendocino county.
Apologies for the gaming reference, but the way you described fisher in the early segment of the podcast really reminded me into the high level players of red dead online. Fancy guns, fancy outlandish clothing, it’s just funny to hear someone actually existed in the old west that dressed as such. I keep my character as historically accurate as I can, but don’t get me wrong I got my shares of fancy guns and hell my gun holsters aren’t exactly subtle neither. But glad I came across your channel man.
Unfortunately by the time those games came out I had stopped playing. But they look really cool! Might have to break down and buy a ps5 one day.
I wish I had time to play… but work calls.
Hey Josh, this is 3 years old & you had words about Brushy Bill then too 😂
You may have made another mistake....
You said Fisher was dug up and moved about 40 years after he was buried the first time....
About 1960 when I was 10 years old, I was present when he was dug up and moved to another location. There was a crowd present and I was among them.
You should do a video on Cullen Montgomery baker
Rumor has it all these guys your stores are about were refurbished, regrouped, re-trained, re-outfitted and redeployed to make up the members the US SF community of the past 20 years
While I do agree that Mob justice is not a good thing. That said, not all vigilance committees killed innocents or were without mercy.
Agreed. A broke clock is right twice a day.
@@WildWestExtravaganza For Example the ones who kill the reno brothers were indeed a vigilance committee which may sound off but is not actually the same thing as an angry Mob. They did not kill the Reno brother's sister Lara or John after he was released from prison, despite the fact that Lara threatened to kill them and according to John and witnesses she was just as good with a gun as her brothers who were not shabby. The committee that hung Henry Plummer did not hang the two teenagers they caught with Plummer because of their youth, but told them to warn the others that their murders would not be tolerated.
You summed up the situation of life during this time now.
You must be about the only man in America that will apologize when he makes a mistake
I've got a lot of practice making mistakes
It is fitting you speak about how flamboyant he dressed. I know he was with Ben Thompson at the time of his demise, but have always questioned why he had a photograph of Ben Thompson on his person. That seems somewhat intimate/personal to me, especially at a time it was not necessarily easy to get photographs taken.
You are something special youngin and I like 👍your style. Keep up the good work and if you could do something on Commodore Perry Owens. Hell, I see you already did.
Something I didn't know I needed until I listened to this podcast is assless tiger skin chaps. Now I know what I want for Christmas!
You and me both!
To go with your Prince Buttless Yellow Pants?
Amazing content! Came for the info, stayed w/ the notification bell for the vibe. Will donate as soon as I pay off this financial ruin we refer to as the X-mas Season!
Thanks!
Im glad I came across ur channel.. n the fact u referenced METALLICA is s freaking plus!! I like this channel..u rock
I’ve also had a negligent discharge🤦🏾♂️ I feel your pain Josh
I am distantly related to John King Fisher in my dad's side of the family. My dad has copies of letters from family that mention him. The family evidently didn't have much to do with him. If I remember correctly he's referred to as King Fisher. My father's great grandmother evidently knew him because she was a Fisher. She told my dad when he was a little kid that John was always just mean.
Another Good One Beaver, We are all Human and We ALL MAKE MISTAKES, Don't Sweat the Little things Bud it will make you Crazy Cya
It’s funny how dudes from Texas CONSTANTLY need to remind everyone around them at all times they are from Texas. We get it dude!
That is funny huh?
Well done
Interesting fact, McNelly was only 9 years Fisher's senior.
My brother started off smoking Marlboro Reds and listened to Metallica.
Now he has job editing for a magazine making $275,000.00 a year.
A tiger he killed in a circus? come again lol? I had to roll that back about 3 times to make sure I heard right.
Love your work you've got the gift of the gab any Irish in ya
I'm mostly Irish without the Irish curse
@@WildWestExtravaganza so you're tea total 😁
Capt. James B. Gillette of the Texas Rangers said most Rangers dressed similarly when not on the trail, he described one of his own outfits which incorporated a wide brimmed Mexican Sombrero with a silver hatband, embroidered bolero jacket, shaggy chaps, and embroidered high heeled boots with spurs with large Mexican rowels . Westerners could be real dandies when they wanted to be, especially Texans.
Why isn't he as well known as other gunfighters? Such as Billy the Kid, Doc Holliday, John Wesley Hardin, etc. He is hardly ever mentioned when speaking of Wild West outlaws... I wonder why this is.
A lot of well known people in those days are obscure now while others - like Wyatt Earp who wasn't all that famous - are very well known. Hollywood has a lot to do with that.
Billy the kid was over hybd bt the print, media. The other gunfight you mention killed more men than him.
I just subscribed because of your mid story rant . Keep it up .
Ha thanks
Love it ❤️
Thanks!
You are the man Josh !!❤️😊👍
I’m a bumbling idiot but I thank you
Josh... You would make an awesome history teacher! 🤠
He does make*
The stealing of Mexican and Texan cattle continued into the early 1900’s. My great great grandfather was rumored to be collecting and storing stolen cattle in Oklahoma, because being across a State Line from your crime was a big deal back then. The cattle were then trucked to pasture in a remote, wooded area close to Lancaster, Missouri, where they would be prepared for market. It’s been rumored that the abandoned winter quarters of the defunct Ringling Brothers Circus, which were just outside Lancaster, were used to tend to them but there’s no evidence for that other than family legend. My dad remembered watching one of the last shipments, which would have been around 1937. As an older man what he remembered was huge horns and aggression. Being fed hay by humans out of the back of a pickup for a few months apparently domesticated them enough that you could get them through a sale barn without multiple gorings. Family Legends. The people. Pretty sure the stories are true. 😂
I lost my Great Grandfsther and two children in Galveston Flood, circa 1900. The book handed down to me , stated 6500 dead. I later found out this didn't include Mexican , Native American, nor African. American. Googled death toll tonight , said aprox 8000 died. Just reacting to this man , not counting folks that weren't Caucasian. His name was Julius Ring/ can't remember seeing the Children. My Grandma survived with her 9 other siblings .They floated around on top floor on furniture. By the way . I prefer gummies over joints these days. Bummer about Brushy Bill. I suppose the "Human Condition " is our responsibility. My family were refugees in St.Louis. Having to go to an Baptist Orphanage , until my Great Grandmother married again. They had a child , which made 12 children to raise . His name was Orla George proof reader for Post Dispatch. Politics r a dangerous quagmire. Best left to those whom swim in that s"it. This was bad to the bone, but you've reported worse, for sure. Mark D.
Guys also made sexy chaps out of unique cow hides. If the cow was big enough, maybe a matching vest!
Lonesome Dove is based on a true story, other than them not being rangers, and it's not far from the truth.
Tales of truth all in that movie, Comanche Moon is a badass movie too.
I've had 2 accidental discharges. Both with the Sks, slam fires.
Tiger chaps nice never heard that one
Look with this content I’m going to need a redo on the intro. Go full Tiger King!!!
Haha
Love that rant.
How much do you want for the bridge?

This is my great great Grandfather! My Grandfather used to live with his wife.
Very cool!
I am actually related to him and these stories are true
I only know that he is one of my great uncles
Another gem, BUT BF does exist.... :)
It's been said he was also a big Elton John fan
You said Bigfoot doesn't exist. Yes he does. I saw him myself and I was in Appalachians for 66 years
He looks suspiciously like John Wesley Hardin 🤔
Sounds like despite everything King Fisher was a very dangerous of lesser known gun handler.😊
