Thanks for putting this up. I'm the silly guy who won the contest. That's me and my wife on stage. It was a great experience!!
Wow! That had to have been awesome having that on your lawn! What did the neighborhood think of it? I'm also curious to know: were you a big fan of the B-52's before the concert?
Wow ! You won a milliion dollars , did you get to meet them ?
Try to catch them if they play close to you , kieth no longer tours with them , he retired from touring to spend time with his older parents etc...Kate. Pierson 4red head is on Tik Tok and doing amazing for 70 , Cindy Wilson lives in Dunwoody Georgia and you can see her sing with her Son , Cindy Wilson had an album come out a few years ago and I missed it , tour etc here in Atlanta and Athens GA and I missed it :( Fred was with her also and I missed it , but I did see most of the big shows since 1981 Atlanta Fox Theater.
Join B52s buzz on facebook. Enjoy them while you can.....
STEPHEN GERACI - u absolute legend...happy thoughts for u from the Uk..how mental ? What a moment of a slice in life that must have been..
Not many can claim such I'm sure..and u got the fun band... Result..
This guitar player is a fucking Genius
And a really cool guy!
These people...do punk or whatever they want. And have the gift of making others happy. This is what good music is about.
My God, that performance of "Dance This Mess Around!" Cindy was absolutely incredible!
One of the best Bands live. I saw the B-52's live at the Brixton Academy London 84 with the Taking Heads.
Lucky one!
@@frnknfrtr6904 yes yes yes !!!
Learned to dig them latter on, now acknowledge the incredible talent of the band, and enjoy them today! 🇬🇧✌️😎✌️
So sad the band lost the loved Ricky Wilson (Cindy's brother) to AIDS in 1985. I know it was really hard for the band to reform and hit the road. While Strickland does OK on the guitar, he's just going through the notes. We all know that no one can take the place of Ricky's unique surf music sound, which I enjoyed along with Dick Dale's sound.
Well if he's just going through the motions he's doing a marvellous job, he had Ricky to a T. 👌 I couldn't tell the difference 🤔
I am always thrilled by the "take me down..." chorus of "Good Stuff". As a singer I am impressed at how accurate and good and exciting the two girls capture and perform that part. On the record it is overdubbed many times to get a great fat sound. Cindy's powerful voice makes it all work with just the two of them. Amazing.
I thought so too. That section was surprisingly strong.
Wow....Cindy and Kate....on "Quiche Lorraine"...great...especially Cindy. (I know I emphasize Cindy twice in comments. It's just that Kate is known for her unique voice while Cindy doesn't get her due by many, when she's often the reason they sound so good. Cindy returns here from hiatus. We were all so happy she did).
Cindy is more talented than Kate BUT she's extremely shy. Kate is very outgoing.
20:20 Cindy sings "do the Little Ricky yeah." I wonder if that is an homage to her brother.
Back when VH1 and MTV achtually broadcasted MUSIC!
The hosts in the beginning were annoying as hell.

Yes they were...
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this, I'll add it to the description if it's OK with you. Cheers.
sure!
Cindy Wilson.
QUICHE LORRAINE done live??!!! It doesn't get ANY better than this!!!!!!!!
boy Kate was hot stuff back then.
Kate was hot, is hot and will die hot, forever hot.
It’s 2021 and she’s still hot lava.
I remember waiting all week for this to come on Mtv so I could record it. When 9:00 come around it wasn't on. I waited to see if it would come on at 10:00 and still NO. It finally came on about 10:40 because of the storm delayed it.
best party band on this planet mega love to the b52s from little ole me in England
I’m from Australia the B52s often tour down here. Just want to say how much I enjoyed this show and Mr Stricklands guitar playing he’s very talented they all are and thanks again!
Awesome! They are a great live band!
Thanks to Yoko for her influence on the B-52's music.
OH MY GOODNESS! WHAT AN EPIC SHOW!!!!!!
If I only could have been there, but with my HD headphones blasting I can imagine. What an an amazing ensemble! Legends for sure, they will always be loved ❤❤❤
Wow! Awesome concert!! Dance this mess around! ❤️
B52s have always been a favorite of mine. I was born in 77 in the 80s my sister played nothing but the B52s. Then I got into the dead and trading bootlegs. I found that live B52s are where its at. One day I think it was 91 I traded 5-2-70 a really awesome dead show for a stack of B52 bootlegs I got them for my sister. Figured she'd love them and she did. But I also fell in love them. I copied each one for my self. Still have a couple shows that didn't get chewed by the tape player. There so old nos though I don't think I would try to play them. Most of the shows were from the mid 80s and they were on fire they put on such a good show.
Great concert! The b52s are a great band. New wave bands of the eighties were all good.
Simple Minds, Talking Heads, Sex Pistols. Siouxie and the Banshees were great too. I like of course Cyndi Lauper, Adam Ant, even REM. (More of an early 90's band.)
I am a huge jazz fan but I enjoy rock and folk too.
umm, REM was around since 1980 . remember murmer, lifes rich pageant, Green, Document ring a bell?
I think you'll find the Sex Pistols, were 70s punk band !
OMG, I remember this....back when music was "FUN" and auto tune was not a thing👏👏👏
Tell youtube stop putting ads interrupting songs !!! 😠😡🤬
Boy that is one lame crowd. Great band, giving off energy! Crowd, standing still, sucking all the energy out of the room.
I agree, bunch of lame assholes don't know what they're watching
they want BonJovi
I have been saying that for years at many convmcerts , peoople just stand or sit at everything. Once the B52s played Six Flags over Atlanta and I wanted to kill the audience , so I just got up on the lawn front stage and danced in front of everyone , then Love Shack came on at end and they all stood up..
Agreed, I'm from the UK (we know how to party with this band!)
Went to see 90s rock band Bush in front of 12,000 outside.(San Francisco 2019) ...they all stood still with their hands in their pockets😲 , saw them again in London.... It was a party crowd jumping, dancing and moshing....
USA you've surely got to dance and party with the B52S... Come on!! 🤣
This was my first concert. I was 5 my dad took me down there just so he can take a peak and the security guard gave us passes because I was cute 😂. One of my first memories.
One of the greatest bands of the 20th century.
Yeah, but they lost a sound board and the new one was giving them issues. They had a horrible storm that day. It was amazing the show went on at all. I'm the guy who one the contest. It was still a fun day!
Quiche Lorraine 😍
Wow, Cindy looks great here huh?
I watched this when it was first broadcast on VH1 in 1998! What a great show.
Took me till now to find it , going to cast it on my TV next week.
Superb version of Good Stuff. I’m dancing my shoes off 😂😂😂
Sara Lee on bass?
B 52's brilliant as usual................
Sensacional SHOWWW Saudades ! Este Grupo Musical marcou uma Épocaaa maravilhosa no Brasil!
my god Kate is freakin amazing.
Check her out on Tik Tok
This is an amazing live raw unfiltered set from the evergreen B-52s.
Lets have a DVD release of it.
Exactly . So nice in person , I even met Cindy's parents three times back stage /stage door in 1982 ,1983 , 1989 . Fan since 1980 , I hope to see them again . It used to be every year almost.
Does anybody know if this has ever been upscaled to HD / remastered and made available on a blu-ray?
Cindy 🔥
Cindy déguisée en sorcière Wicca, pour apaiser les démons tempestaires du manoir Kreischer ?
Happy times with a Happy Fun Band! Miss these days.
Amo a esta banda, desde los actuales hasta ricky wilson, gracias, muchas gracias.
Comments are turned off concerning the performance of the band at this event.
I cannot thank you enough
The first narrator should write a book 😖
🤪
Si esgo hubiera sido en ARGENTINA NO SE IMAGINAN EL POGO !!ALTA FIESTA NOS HUBIERAMOS DADO ELLOS Y NOSOTROS..DE VERDAD
Kate comes out with such great unique melodies. Absolutely in love with that crazy hot redhead. Wish I had known her in my life she would not have turned gay lol
Damn, Keith Strickland sure puts fire in that there guitar
Ricky would definetley appove .🎸👍
AJ Hammer--MC Hammer's illegitimate son.
Genial excelente material un lujo tks gracias
This is a much better concert than the crowd would indicate. It is mostly industry fucks in the crowd.
nice quality, great sound. imagine ENTERING a contest where you "win?" anything john "cougar" mellencamp or john bon jovi related. the "winner" for these guys should have been down south, like the horrible bon jovi show. the B's were the headliner for "earth day 1," in 1990 central park. mtv, not this here station. mtv by this time had some videos on thursday afternoon, but was mostly real world garbage. cindy sounds like she's getting over a cold. the weather didn't cooperate. could have really been something here.
I will always love these two ladies
Cindy doesn’t look right here.
They sound great but that's a bad look for Cindy.
B52s are vegetarian tho :/
Wow!!!!!!! makes me happy❤❤❤
Wow ! I never got to see this until now ! Thanks , they are the most fun ever.
How about that lucky bastard who got to have this!
What happened to Cindy ☹️
I think she had just lost her child.
21:05 Cindy takes the gloves off. Most animated dance sequence I have ever seen from her on UA-cam. Cindy ...... you're freaking awesome!!!!
heard cindy and kate were lovers
@@bpmanzoli Kate is a self described "late in life lesbian". As far as I know Cindy has always been straight. But the thought of Kate and Cindy getting it on is pretty hot.
1:03:44 it wasn't a rock .. it was Ken Starr
Cindy ❤
Awesome performance from their still heydays. Dance This Mess Around was perfect!
Thanks for sharing.
Ah the good ole days. Life was good then.
Kate. Still is
What is up with Cindy's hair? Too much bleach?
And don't get me wrong...I'm a huge fan.
She was channeling Phyllis Diller for that show. 😊
Its as though Bernie Sanders and Kenny G had a baby.
I think her hair is sexy in this concert. But thats just my personal opinion.
HERE IT IS ! :)
23:26
Happy New Year! What a find! I love them more than they love me and I’m good with that.Thebeautiful people thnx
It's REALLY been 24 years since 1998? Oh my God... its literally 1 decade longer than how long I had been alive back in 1998.
Great show, how come they never do Mesopotamia any longer? Is it because they don't want David Byrne getting any money from it? I think that is their best song.
Ricky could never be replaced, always missed his guitar twang, that only he could do.
Pass the tanning butter.
Delicious Kate
Me patiently waiting for Debbie 🙂. It finally being performed 🥳🥳🥳🥳.
Saw them 07/04/22 on Ft.lauderdale Beach,on stage 8pm,off 10:45 AWESOME!!
always a party when Cindy is dancing or when Cindy is smiling at a very tall queen dressed like her that has all her moves
Beautiful performance. Amazing voices. And I love especially the guitar sound!

66yr old here - always loved them since this album !
On my bucket list to see them .
Missed out when they went to NZ in 1978
Maybe time ran out. I missed them when I was i Reno years ago. Rats.
Someone please tell our beloved
B 52's
Earth is not a spinning Globe !
Earth is Flat & stationary.
Sure 🤨
I'll tell that motormouth that opened it all too while I'm at it 🤪
what amazing moment !
How did Cindy's voice go lower than Kate's? I get that Cindy was the 'it' girl for the straight guys, but Kate is way cooler to me, and her voice is unchanged from 20 years ago.
saw them a few weeks ago in London .. Kates voice is still amazing. .liveliest London audience ive seen at a gig in ages
It's nice to see Cindy singing Good Stuff!
Gosto muito de B'52....Tatuí SP, Brasil.
Wow i never saw this. Best backyard band that could be
Awesome band!
Buena banda en su categoria musical.
remember dancing to rock lobster at middle school grad
B52s Cake did we party to that many decades ago
Cindy 🥰🥰🥰
Rock Lobster is the best song ever
In 1996, the artist featured in the VH1 Backyard BBQ sweepstakes was JOhn Mellencamp
He lives about 5 miles from here. You can have him. I'll take the B's.
"It wasn't a rock, it was Ken Starr"
dude, party out of bounds is a greaaaat song
