This is the only video with actual usage footage(that I’ve found on UA-cam so far). Tired of UA-camrs that claim certain Brands of Charging Handles are in their (expert opinion) the best in the market, without any actual visual proof 🤷♂️🤦♂️ I appreciate the time & work that went into making this video content 👍💯
I have the Griffin SNACH and have used the Raptor SD. Using an older AAC can on a 12.5 and 10.5, the Griffin charging handle does a great job at diverting gas. Highly recommend.
Great that you candidly give the pros and cons and state which one is your top pick. this video was very helpful by observing the gas exit from each charging handle.
I have the griffin snach and sico gdch and use their 46m suppressor on rounds large and small. The sico (when it works) is head and shoulders above the snach, it doesnt come close. But the handle of the sico went flying off on the first charge at the range😞, seems like its a common problem. Also the gasket WILL get bunched up at some point and not allow the bcg to go into battery. I actually had to sand my gasket down at the ends so it was like a ramp or wedge effect and there was no more bunching. Use 3k to 5k grit it makes it very smooth. Thats too much imo to do for a $100+ charging handle. The griffon does make you cry somewhat but not that bad. The sico is on my hunting rifles and the griffon is on defense. If you get the sico make sure the pins holding the handles on are flared properly and shave those ends of the gasket.
I own all 3 and also own the PRI gas buster and the GDCH works the best but it is the least durable and dependable by a FAR margin. The rollpins on the GDCH keep falling out and the O-ring does need to get replaced after approx 1k rounds depending on caliber. Lost the right side rollpin and it's latch during a 2 Gun event. I loctited the rollpin and put black duct tape over it on my other GDCH. SiCo has had my first GDCH for over 5 weeks now and is waiting for parts. I would NOT recommend the GDCH at all until the rollpin issue is figured out.
@@jccarp2 Griffin Armament's SNACH actually works really nice (if not the same) as long as if you're not a lefty. The SNACH is what I use for PRS comps in my 6 ARC AR because I have zero confidence in SiCo's offering.
I would like to see the strike industries gas buster charging handle compared to these others. Whst do you think of using a gemtech suppressed bcg in combination with one of these charging handles?
Dig the video and appreciate the info. I have the Radian but haven’t had the opportunity to run my rifle with the suppressor yet. This gave me another option should I not like the performance of the Radian. Thanks
What if you drilled vent holes into the Snach similar to what the Raptor has… and maybe added a then line of silicone to the bottom of the handle? The perfect charging handle????
Adding Permatex to seal any charging handle will always improve gas to the face mitigation. I've made this mod to all of my charging handles. I plan to mod all of my charging handles similar to the SilencerCo charging handle as well using this video as a guide: ua-cam.com/video/F5nRe0RuGLg/v-deo.html. Not sure I would start drilling holes into the actual body of the charging handle that sits inside the receiver. I'm not really convinced that this does a whole lot to be honest, and I have a Radian Raptor SD.
I bought the Griffin Armament after watching this video. I put it in a Gen 3 PA-10 but it doesn't work. Pulls slightly back and then gets stuck. Pulled out the bolt carrier and inspected. Everything looked great inside and out. I have never run into this problem before except on a Sig 716. I really want to make it work but am afraid to start grinding off the hard anodizing for fear of corrosion in the future and the possibility I may not get the results I need. I will try to call them if they post a phone number. If anyone has run into a problem like this feel free to reply. Such a strange situation.
I wish you guys would do a part 2 with the geissele sch, forward controls acf, and gasket-enhanced milspec. There's definitely a market for these for those who switch between suppressed and unsuppressed fairly often
Would like to see this video with some kind of brass catch type system covering the ejection port so as better isolate the gasses exiting the charging handle area. Otherwise very good job showing this.
Everyone says silencerco is unreliable. I have Radian, SNACH, Geissele Airborn, and BCM. I like SNACH the most. I bought more for my other builds. I also have CMC's adjustable BCG.
I tried the Griffin Armament charging handle, but as a left handed shooter, it was terrible. It is only designed for right handed shooters. I have since swapped it out with the Radian and paired it with an adjustable gas block. No more gas to the face.
I have the PRI gas buster and it seems to work well. My concern for the Griffin is that it feels really cheaply made and reminds me of the Chinese made pot metal airsoft versions. Nevertheless, I purchased one for another suppressor build and it seems to work well using my old TAC16 can mounted on my Noveske Afghan.
@@modernwarriorsut They openly admitted their LPVO is made in China. Who is to debunk that their charging handles and anything else is made in China. I admit that it works well on my setup but when I put it side to side against my PRI, it just feels cheap and lightweight.
It was for that reason that we had to give the win to the Snatch as it isnt relying on a part that could easily come off during hard use. If the Gasket comes off, the GDCH is about as bad as a milspec
@@pjshooter6 the fact that silencerco includes a spare gasket, and tells you how to source one indicates that the gasket can either fall out at some point, or it can wear out. by nature, any and all gaskets can and will fail eventually. even those that dont move. case and point: any automotive vehicle has hundreds of gaskets, they all fail eventually, just a matter of time.

I’ve got the bootleg and the Gemtech. Finish and construction on the Gemtech is markedly better, but the bootleg is more adjustable.
