This is very comprehensive. I don't know if I'd ever get back into NGS since my last try left a bad taste in my mouth. However, it does have one of the best character creators and offers the best customization for characters in any online game I know.
Why a bad taste? I used to play PSO2 but for maybe a few months. Once NGS dropped I bounced. Kinda tempted to come back but don't wanna waste my time if the game is trash.
@@SniperPFL I haven't touched it since it dropped for the most part. There wasn't much to do at launch so I figured I'd peek in later. I poked my head in once several months afterward and the GPU I had at the time wasn't up to snuff I think. The game felt choppy and unresponsive. There was no direction in the game so I basically just wandered around without a clue what to do in a poorly optimized game until I lost interest. Now that I have a better GPU I might take another peek when time permits.
Watched this video last night and came back to leave a comment, full of really useful information so thanks! I still don't quite get the purpose of the Battledia - I hit LV95 just from doing the story stuff, though I guess there's the PSO2 day and seasonal buffs in effect so perhaps it's slower usually. Definitely need to look at some of your other videos, it'd probably be really helpful if you did those timestamp thingies in the video (where you can go to specific sections) :D
Yeah, ill try and add the timestamps today! As for the battledia, they were used more in the past but they're still a decent way of leveling (particularly if you don't want to do story). Purples are also a reasonable way of farming Giga Strugments too.
A lot of the weapons and armor can just be sold for meseta (there is an option to auto sell gear under a certain rarity). Later on you'll just keep an eye out for certain armors/weapons with fixa abilities but earlier in the game you can safely sell most of it.
Depends when you played last really. It's definitely improved a lot since launch, though I won't deny there are still some issues. A lot of the hate for NGS is honestly overblown.
Thanks for this beginners guide. I recently started Pso2 and played a little bit but got overwhelmed. I'm not used to this game and all this stuff thrown at me makes me kind of anxious especially the controls. I will probably delete my character for a fresh start.
Honestly, dealing with everything the game throws at you is one of the harder aspects of PSO2 to get used to. New Genesis is definitely a little more approachable than classic PSO2 in that regard. I'd probably recommend just taking it easy with the tutorial, get to Central City and then maybe take on some NPC tasks if you want to acclimatise to the game a bit first.
Glad to hear you're going to give good ol'PSO2 a return, hope I get a chance to watch.
Great video Sky, really well explained. Always appreciated your patience on these topics as there is a hell of a lot to cover! Keep it up 👍🏻
thanks for this, I feel like so many guides for this game may work or may not work, it's nice to see an up to date guide
Good beginner guide, I like the thoroughness and how you try to explain it in a friendly way to those newly checking out the game
Thanks! I try to aim these at players who might be brand new to the game, so hopefully people find it useful!

@@skelletonne yeah I've been playing for the past few days on a 3060 TI with no problems. There's quests and stuff still feeling it out.

Get used to literally all content being outdated within 1-5 months of release.
2:50 is that Maid Privaty from Nikke? Awesome if so.
It is! I play Nikke as well (just not on the channel) and Privaty is one of my favourite characters. I have a design for her regular outfit as well!
@SectionSkyly My man 🤝
Comment for algorithm. Bless good content creator!
What do I do with all these weapons and armor I am finding? Just scrap it for meseta?

@@SectionSkyly thanks, this is actually very helpful. It kept pinging me for trying to sell a 4 star but it was low level
this is really the only SCI FI MMO I can find can't think of any others can you? I need to give it a try again.
There really aren't many with a scifi setting at all!
@@SectionSkyly I keep forgetting SWOTR and the Star Trek Online one
PSO2 classic is still a lot of fun, will you just be ship 2?
Yeah, all my characters are on ship 2 at the moment so ill probably just use one of my existing characters for now.
Oh is it good now?

@SectionSkyly I never did actually, I'm originally from the PSO2 itself.
Man this game is so different from PSO I just can’t make me try it out lol
It is definitely a huge departure from something like PSO!
lot better though honestly
@@immortangamer the graphics art and gameplay style in my opinion is all worsened over time
