Exactly the test I was looking for! Very well presented indeed. This video alone deserves more subscibers than the 388 you´ve got. Well, you just got me also! Thanks a lot!
Hey, I use this light for interviews all the time! It’s pretty solid for having flexible and bright light. I use several different modifiers, but usually a Godox softbox or a lantern
Just the video I needed man! Very well done as well. Think I’m gonna go ahead and pull the trigger on this light since I’ll be doing video work for clients soon and I need my light kit upgraded
@@FilmAshton I have some short form interview style projects coming up. That plus I’m a filmmaker so I always need lights. I do my own UA-cam videos as well. I’ll definitely get a lot of value out of this light
Did you have any problems with this light or anything that needs fixing? Do they handle heavy duty work? I'm afraid of fixing this in the very near future.
I have been using mine since a little before I made this video. It’s solid for hours of work and mine is still in like new condition! They aren’t brighter than a $1300 light, but two of them probably is! It’s plastic, so if you’re rough on gear and just toss it around, then you may need something more expensive
@@FilmAshton I'm gonna build a cyclorama, I don't know if this light will help or not. I'm a little bit confused. Wanna do some interviews, you know that all around white background?
I have found that I really enjoy using the Godox lantern, but I have also picked up a 6’ impact umbrella that is pretty stellar as well. Lots of great options out there!
You know, I think that is difficult to say because the fan noise from one unit to the next is slightly different on the SL60. I’d say that the 100BI That I have is pretty darn quiet and has a very gentle and easy to remove fan noise.
@@FilmAshton Suppose you would have mentioned it, but can you turn off the fan completely with reduced lighting capacity, like I have seen some lights - they can be totally quiet with fans turned off but will only put out like 30-50% of max light...
Generally similar. It seems that it’s really a luck of the draw for if you get a great unit or not. Mostly fan noise can be an issue. The amaranth stuff gets way hotter and this is generally louder, but both solid lights for the output.
It’s hard to answer this because the sun offers lots of brightness levels due to time of day, clouds, etc. It’s not a Hollywood light, but it will bring your exposure to a useable level if you’re close enough to the subject you’re lighting
I have two questions: who’s holding you hostage? if I subscribe will they set you free?
He who must not be named... doubt it, but it's worth a shot!

Great video!
Thank you so much.
Glad this helped!
Very nice video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
One of my Amaran 100Xs just died. This is what I will be replacing it with. Thanks!
What did you think of the 100X while you had it?
Do you recommend this light for interviews? Like 1 to 2 hours of continuous lighting?
And which softbox do you recommend for this?

cool video thanks
Thanks for the comment saint wolf!
Your videos are so amazing! I just cant believe you have 297 subscribers!
I need to be more consistent I guess ha! Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks for the video, what softbox you suggest

Very nice video, going to bay this light
Stellar light! Just used it on a music video today and it was amaIng
@@FilmAshton I gave finished my research with Aputure Amaran 200X. Very nice light soon will be posting first video.
How does the fan noise directly compare to the SL60W?

good job!
Thanks! Working on some new content now!
I used the Amaran 100x once and I wonder how do these two compare?
Generally similar. It seems that it’s really a luck of the draw for if you get a great unit or not. Mostly fan noise can be an issue. The amaranth stuff gets way hotter and this is generally louder, but both solid lights for the output.
How much is the output difference sl 60 nd sl 100?
The SL100 W is nearly twice as bright, but the SL100BI is barely brighter than the SL60W
How is this light in vs the sun in a room
It’s hard to answer this because the sun offers lots of brightness levels due to time of day, clouds, etc. It’s not a Hollywood light, but it will bring your exposure to a useable level if you’re close enough to the subject you’re lighting
Kool. I was just considering the sl60w but would be shooting mostly 120fps. This sounds like a better option cheers bro
No doubt! Have some higher output lighting is really helpful! Thanks for watching homie!
