You’re by far the best dude out there. I’ve seen tons of videos here, but your manners and sense of humour are TOP. Calm yet funny, straight to the point. Good job 👍
Very useful video, I wanted to ask you what was the difference between the Godox SL60IIBi and the one you showed in the video? Which one should I buy? Thank you very much.
Hey, thank you. The difference is maximum wattage and maximum light output. 60 watts versus 100 watts. The SL100 will be brighter but without having both to compare, I can't say exactly how much. I'd say the SL100 will be more flexible--more light is better--but a 60 watt light can still work as a key light
This light is really good really happy looks and feels completely pro I really think it’s not noisy at all fan is extremely low sounding really happy with my purchase this light is insanely powerful can’t wait to buy a soft box for it
Hello I hope you can help me … I’m starting a 3 HOST podcast and I’m thinking either buying sl100Bi or the La150 … both with the Godox lantern … normally I would go directly for the 150 « more power maybe for other usage » but the fan also is an issue I think more than the sl 100 … is the 100 enough to light 3 people or should I take the la150 … great review and thank you in advance
The fan on the SL100 is pretty noticeable, it might be pretty tough to use on a podcast depending how close it is. I don't know what the La150 is so I can't say for sure what the fan noise is
@@PhillipRPeck it is the Godox la150 but since both have fan noise and since you tried this one do you think the 100watts enough to light 3 people on a round table ? If it’s with a lantern ?
@@SOUTHSIDEtn Yeah, I think it could be bright enough with a lantern. Keep an eye out for used lights. I'm seeing some decent prices on the Aputure 120Dii. I think the fan in there is quieter, that could be a good option (unless you need the color temperature options of the SL100bi
I really like the way you did the video, someone I could watch just to watch. I have two of these on order, though I think I might send them back for the Amaran 100X it just seems to be a little bit better overall, but it's hard to say as nobody has really done a head to head comparison of them.
Thank you! I wish I could do a comparison with the Amaran, but Aputure doesn't know who I am... I really like the SL100 BI. It's great for a studio light but its biggest negative is the fan noise. If the Amaran has a quieter fan, then that would be a deciding factor
@@PhillipRPeck Agreed 100% though my "studio" is my office, gaming room, and server room, so I have lots of fan noise anyway lol. But with a good diaphragm microphone it cuts the noise very well. Unfortunately all my condenser mics and such just sit unused for that reason.
Outstanding review here! Thank you! I was just about to click "buy" on Adorama when you mentioned the fan motor noise. That's a deal-breaker for me. I need silent LED lighting and I'm sorry to learn that this isn't it. But you did a great job and thumbs UP for sure! Wishing you all the best.
At 4:52 you set the light at 75% brightness and also through 2 layers of diffusion in the softbox, can u please tell us what is your camera settings in this scene? I mean it looks bright enough even at 75% and through 2 layers of diffusion. Thank you. 🥰🥰🥰
Hey, thanks for the comment. I didn't give my camera settings because when I turned off the light I showed how the camera was exposed--basically exposed for the windows. I was also exposing using a variable ND filter so any camera settings are essentially meaningless. But, since you asked: BMD Pocket 6K, Braw 12:1, ISO 800, shutter 1/48. Lens was set to f/2.8

I don't know that those figures mean a whole lot as long as you white balance your camera. You can always shift the temp and tint in post if you need to but I can't imagine it would be a huge deal

I've always thought so, too... 😉. (Just kidding. Thank you for the kind words. Really appreciated)
A very clear and helpful review, thank you! You're one of my favorite gear reviewers on UA-cam.
Thank you!

Wow, thanks!
Just ordered this one today. I'm glad about the app coz the package with remote costs way more in our country.

What would u suggest sl100bi or ml60bi in 2024???
I'd probably still go for the sl100 because it's higher output and it's a full size bowens mount. The ml60 needs an adapter that's sold separately

Sorry, I do not have a light meter to check and Godox doesn't show the LUX rating without the reflector dish for some reason.
