You can easily pull off the OEM waffle and definitely it’s the one that looks better. The other options are nice to have if you want to save the OEM because they are quite expensive.
I've tried silicon and FKM, but Uncle does the best rubber straps. I'm a big fan of the chocolate bar on my Willard. I have the GL831 that I wear on an Orient Ray II and a waffle that I wear on my Citizen Ny0040. Also, I always did the hot water/cold water trick with these straps. It makes them form around your wrist better for more comfort.
Thanks for the comparison. For this SLA039, I would have to wear a black strap, either the original Tropic or the OEM MM300 Waffle. Today, I compared my original gray Tropic and Strapcode Tropic on my Captain Willard. The original is far more appealing for comfort and look. However, if I were traveling and swimming, I'd like to get the Uncle Tropic b/c the fat bars would be more secure on the Seiko.
The dreaded 19 mm strap search. I like the black tropic the best. It would be cool if they had other colors. I went through the strap search for my sla043. Decided I like it on the oem blue waffle the best. I currently have my SLA 039 on a bright orange Dassari rubber strap. Orange and divers work for me😊
Uncle Seiko tropic straps are still my number one strap out of all the tropics. Mark, have you come back around to my side of the tropic choice, or do you like the softer Tropic brand over the Uncle? second edit 😂: I think the chocolate bar suits that specific watch better than the tropic, for me. you always have the sbdc101/tropic combo, which is my favorite and is perfect for my smaller 17cm wrist.

Prefer the tropics that round off at the lug end rather than square off. Wolbrook do a rounded end but are more exy.
Difference between the uncle tropic and original tropic brand strap?
Different material, Tropic brand a lot more supple.
