Plant Delights Nursery is an award winning nursery in Raleigh, NC near Garner. We specialize in rare, and unusual perennials and we strive to carry a wide selection of exotic plants, cold hardy tropical plants, and native plants. Many of our best perennials are available nowhere else in the US as they represent rare plants collected by Plant Delights founder Tony Avent during his more than 60 plant hunting expeditions to places like China, Crete, Taiwan, South Africa and Argentina or distributed by some of the many specialty plant organizations of which Plant Delights is a member.

Juniper Level Botanic Garden was founded in 1986 by Tony Avent to promote and preserve botanic diversity by bridging the gap between botany and horticulture through plant study, identification, educational outreach, global plant exploration. JLBG is home to over 28,000 taxa spread over 28 acres of beautiful grounds.

    What a great video!
Re: the resource books mentioned (unfortunately cannot post direct links - apparently youtube dislikes them in comments; instead here are keywords for google search)
    From 10:47:
    1. Seed Germination Theory and Practice (and two supplements), by Dr. Norman C. Deno. As mentioned in the video, there is an electronic version hosted on USDA website.
    2. The American Horticultural Society A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants, by Christopher Brickell. Very common in local libraries, or cheap to be bought used on e.g., amazon; early editions are electronically hosted on Internet Archive.
    3. Native Plant Propagation, by Jan Midgley. Apparently self-published, which means it's not widely circulated. But South Carolina Native Plant Society has a page that details how to purchase it directly from the author.
    From 30:57:
    4. The Reference Manual of Woody Plant Propagation, by Michael A. Dirr and Charles W. Heuser Jr. Similar options to 2.

Did you mean to say seconds of microwaving not minutes. 🔥

We microwave pots for 18 minutes to sterilize the soil. They are very hot! We use thick gloves to remove them and cool before sealing and placing in the freezer.
