    Purging a lot is actually better than worse, because it clears the nozzle from the residue and trash. The total ammount is not significant in the end,, but allows for a better print quality after the filament swap

    • @3DandTeePrinting
      @3DandTeePrinting  4 місяці тому +2

      Bambu purge, Creality Purge, Elegoo Purge, Ankermake Purge, and Anycubic Purge about 1/2 or less of the Purge amount. I get it about the clearing of old filament but how much is too much? In my personal opinion 250mm is OVERKILL. 50mm to 100mm is usually fine for purging enough to clear the filament. The 5M filament path from the top of the printhead to the nozzle tip is only 18.3mm.

  • @NoMercyFtw

    If you install the klipper mod the Purge amount is solved down to 0, been working amazing since i got it

      @hypocritical7379 And the 280c Max Temp on Nozzle that's about it. It's an Amazing printer and it's cheaper than most core XY machines out there (usable ones anyway).

    Maybe the difference is to compensate for the 0.4 nozzle.
    I use the 0.4 and unless I really get in there and cut as close to the end as I can I don't have much of the new filament coming out before it stops. You can see the change and about one length to the table of the new filament. I'm just thinking a larger diameter 0.6/0.8 would clear the old filament out faster and you would see more of the new filament before it finishes.
    It also has a longer heating area in the nozzle than most.

    • @deepside7
      @deepside7 5 місяців тому

      Doubt it was the Engineers decision. More than likely a cost cutting exercise.
      I have the machine, it's absolutely awesome, but the filament change process sucks. I don't mind the filament purge so much, but having to pull out and cut is annoying. The rest of the stuff can be worked around. Spool holder is on the side via 3d printed spool holder, and smart power plug allows me to turn it on and off with a smart button. @@blackrul3z

    • @3DandTeePrinting

    All true. $300 for a printer that rivaled way more expensive ones and it was dummy proof. With my ender 3 i had piles of plastic spaghetti and fails all over. With this one, i just got printing perfect pieces. I spent more time leveling or attempting to level my ender 3 than i did printing

    I have the adventurer 5M pro and I don’t mind the screen it can be finicky at times I actually kind of like the UI but you can actually disable the start up sound and the sounds in general by going to the settings and disabling sound (but I do agree I don’t like the start up sounds and stuff). I am not sure if it any different UI wise between the 5M and 5M Pro but tbh I don’t entirely get how the loading/ replacement process is weird except the awful back mounted spool holder that every dang printer seems to have now and is incredibly annoying . Honestly I wonder why they even put it on the back? So it’s pretty? So you cant see the filament spool because it’s ugly? Is it an attempt to save on space???

    • @3DandTeePrinting
      @3DandTeePrinting  4 місяці тому

      I feel like the 5M or at least the PRO version should at least have a Retract setting for unloading. Every other printer Has a retract setting for loading and unloading. Why make us remove the ptfe tube each time just to change the filament. That's going to wear on the coupler over time.
      The placement of the spool holder SHOULD have been on back top right, like the previous released enclosure kits they promoted at launch. So much cleaner looking, easy accessibility, and just slightly taller.

    • @Rafe0921
      @Rafe0921 4 місяці тому

      Yea, I kind of wish they had more parts available on their website or at least separate parts. Considering they don’t sell some of the individual parts of the hot end they just sell the entire assembly

  • @FrequenciaJogos
    @FrequenciaJogos 5 місяців тому

    I have two 5M and for me it have more "bad stuff": the nozzle is proprietary and you don't have hardened steel nozzle for 0.4. The software is very unreliable, sometimes it don't home anymore or freezes. The hotend have a maximum of 280C. I need to enable 'Leveling' on each print, otherwise it crashes the nozzle into the bed...

    • @3DandTeePrinting
      @3DandTeePrinting  5 місяців тому

      The hotend at only 280c isn't a BAD for me personally because I print ABS/ASA at 265c. EXPENSIVE proprietary nozzles too. I usually never level before a print and I don't have the crashing into the bed happening for me. The slicer Software is crappy. But I would still recommend the AD5M over say an Ankermake M5C (Same pricing WITHOUT discount).

    • @FrequenciaJogos
      @FrequenciaJogos 4 місяці тому

      @@3DandTeePrinting The "nozzle hitting the bed" happened since the beginning. The "test cube" (after the first calibration setup): damaging the bed and nozzle. Then, I notice that it always happens when "Leveling" is not enabled, and I know that because: it crashes again.
      When I said "software", I mean the "software" in the printer (the "firmware"). I have couple of instances that I need to restart the printer because it freezes or not go home anymore.
      It's very unreliable. Also, some folks on Facebook/Reddit reports that the nozzle hitting 400C+ and never shutdown. Since I already face some mid-print freezes, I honestly think that it can just freezes and keep heating, without any hardware safety. I only use my printers when I'm at home, I don't trust on them.
      It's not only bad things. It's really fast compared to my MK3S. But....
