I left Florida and am watching this unfold from an elevation of nearly 6000'. Yeah, I have to wear a coat and pair of boots sometimes, but it's worth it.
I went to Florida twice and I thought the weather was some of the worst I've ever seen in my life. Who on earth would choose to live in 90% humidity. There's a reason houses are cheap there.
I love it here it’s beautiful. I live 20 minutes inland and have never had a problem. If I could afford a beach house I would. You only have to deal with hurricanes every couple years depending on where it hits. Every place has its dangers. The people who say we have bad weather came here for a couple days when it rained and it ruined their vacation.
I think it’s irresponsible for everyone to down play the danger Naples and counties further south are. To act like they aren’t in any major risk when the storm continues to move south is dumb. They could die
Hurricane to arrive in West FL Thurs 10th Oct 2024: The SAL today sits well south east in the carribean and only begins moving to near Puerto Rico mid week. By Wed-Thurs the System placed in the East Gulf of mexico by our indications will begin landfall and indicators for Tampa Bay show for a one day spell 9th/10th of Oct 2024 a sudden drop in air pressure at surface to below 990mb will be experienced to the exact extent of this on arrival at the West FL region is yet unknown (990mb - 960mb) and can only be an estimate at this stage. Convection energy rises and so to rainfall amounts at Tampa giving indication of Storm surge and inundation existing in Tampa and flooding that will be experienced strongly near the system center. Tampa bay shows a early morning High Tide at 6:50am @ Gandy Bridge Tampa on Thurs so the tide may be incoming on system arrival. Winds will be from the South West moving anti clockwise at force and Winds will be adversely very strong forecasted between 110mph to 120mph at surface with a possibility of 10-15 percent stronger gusts accompanying Wed-Thurs as the system moves into the West Florida regions around mid week. Is not a favoured path for the system to be on so best bet is to stay tuned to latest aircraft and live reports and to prepare accordingly. The system sits nth west of Merida Yucatan Peninsula today Tues and has strengthened to a Category 5 Hurricane. Gulf of Mexico Water temperatures are within the range for System development. Data shows with the ingredients in place here at the yucatan position this is certain for rapid development in this zone with a blob area of warmer water surface temperatures then the surrounding seas at Central Yucatan North. A area exists west of the FL peninsula in todays SST that is slightly cooler then the Yucatan region, although also a warmer region of SST sits at the south west waters of FL. The big issue is as the system today tuesday sits at Cat 5 will this be maintained moving east-nth east or will something prohibit Cat 5 before the storms arrival to West FL in other words is the storm going to weaken before arrival to FL and if so by how much, best estimates have the storm arriving to West FL as a Cat 3. Tues night EDT is the area of certainty past which staying put is the only other option in West FL. My cordinated path has the system arriving to the FL region from the south west around the 10th of October 2024 at the band from Spring Hill FL north to Cross City with a path possibly moving into the Nth West FL Bay regions by Thurs (06:00 UTC time) might possibly mean a early morning visit to the South East US FL (Past Wed midnight is an estimate). The wake of this system will affect the entire FL peninsula to different extents on arrival and will be felt before arrival. Heavy rains will accompany as will also strong adverse wind effects. In the systems Tuesday Yucatan peninsula position there is put forward a north east area of rain and early winds over north and south FL peninsula today Tues. Tampa Bay may not be where the exact path arrives as in the above example and is only used as an example area to focus on possible outcomes. There are none turbulance or winds that may inhibit the system over next 0-48 hrs in the gulf. Sporadic tornadoes may sprout around 10th October 2024. Consider Evacuation, Boarding Up, Sand bagging and move things to high/secure ground may be precarious in High-Rise situations. Stay clear of floodwaters as the system arrives and unfolds. Forcaster Pierre cassavaweather.
Two days is an appropriate and reasonble amount of time to safely evacuate all areas undergoing evacuation . All those who stay are guilty of acting out an ambush against energency personnel.
At some poi t i heard this storm would not come close to Helene. Now its worse. Is there nothig these weather people can do to predict these things closer? Its 2½ days away before they have an idea whats happening. Now its too late. God help all these people in the path.

Fort Lauderdale is in the clear. Fort Lauderdale could never ever get a storm like this. Fort Lauderdale could never ever get a storm surge like this it's absolutely impossible because the Bahamas basically act like a buffer and protect fort Lauderdale
Why? You can see the map. You should know where you live. If the big ball is going to pass over or near where you are on the map, that means get the heck out.

I wish Milton would not hit anywhere and praying for people in Tampa, but if it’s going to hit, WHY could it not be dead-center at Mar-A-LOCO since that guy believes it would be a climate change hoax?!
Prayers from texas to the florida ppl
Russian bots in the chat trying to push "weather manipulation" conspiracy theories. I guess losing to Ukraine leaves them nothing else to do😂
Thank you. We will need them.
I feel bad for all the Florida residents but I’m thankful that Milton isn’t coming through South Georgia. Prayers.
Meatball: where's my white boots!
This storm is deadly, people on the coast should get out and away from the coast.

These are the new, faster, deadlier storms feasting on the increasingly warm ocean and gulf waters. Prepare for more.
That all sounds completely safe and fine. Here in the Rocky Mountains. Otherwise sounds like there’s going to be flood full of gators.
Snakes and frogs too. Lots of snakes are good swimmers.
Everyone take cover

What will happen in Fort Lauderdale?
You’ll be told to expect a tropical storm, then when the storm gets close enough to you, it’ll be to late to leave if that thing goes south

Since when do hurricanes form in the gulf and move west to east???
When was the last one that did this?
Rare, but not unheard of
Has happened 14 times. I think the last time for a major hurricane was Wilma
This was a tropical depression that hopped from the pacific over Mexico into gulf
@@Benglator1 incorrect wilma came from below Mexico it did not form in the Gulf. Try again
