Great Video. You missed shifter's multiattack feat when covering feats. You have it selected as a lvl 11 talent. -2 instead of -5 attack penalty for secondary attacks for anyone wondering.
If you choose horse aspect you get an extra dialogue option when romancing Camelia.

Great vid! Seems like we have 3 choices here: warrior(regular shifter), archer(manticore), and rogue(fey). And they are pretty solid, gonna try manticore before they nerf it!
Given how much you love crits, I'm surprised that you skipped over the 1x multiplier increase that Bear gets, along with the improved natural attack. A Trickster Bear Shifter with a big crit range, size increases to bump their weapon dice even higher, and a x4 crit multiplier looks craaaazy

Allow me to contribute some:
1) feyform shifter is even more front loaded, as it's lvl1 aspect has (or at least I think it does? The info shifter descriptions provide is generally very incomplete) wings, so +3 melee AC, nice and tanky (also not sure, if you've covered it, but as an example of incomplete info - ankou form grants +4str and -2dex polymorph)
2) as far as going tanky... er goes - wis to ac may not stack with regular monk, but it sure does with Scaled Fist, so I'd reconsider that definitive stance on Cha dump, if I were you;)
3) once again - not that I've tested that specifically (I just think, that there is a memory of it working fine), but Shifter's Edge actually does work. If I had to hazard a guess: your (and our, ofc) favourite size buffs are messing with the whole "finesse being online at all" - you're actually supposed to be dumping STR... At least to some degree, very carefully calculated one at that .
Edit: got my hands on an actual feyform playthrough - wings are there only from lvl 5 onwards, sadly, but they do, unlike certain birby ones (unless I'm really horribly blind), indeed provide +3 melee AC, so, tank be like...
Also, gains unmentionable uncanny dodge, as if it was rogue, just... Beyond tanky.

So not sure what your bug was, but in my testing Shifter's Edge proved stupidly good. It's basically acting like a fixed Elemental Barrage. The "trick" as it were is that it works with Amulet of Agile Fists and it procs on just about any added damage. So with 5 elements, +slash gloves, +bane, for example that's +84 damage *per natural attack* (with no resists, so probably need force ring).
It's pretty gimmicky, but it's also pretty fun. Also probably makes some legend builds that should be really bad (Shaman, Dragon-heir Scion, ...) somewhat interesting.
Really great as always. Would love to see your take on mapping shifter subclasses to mythic paths.

actually wis bonus to ac(is also true for instictual warrior) stacks with monk, but only scaled fist (so two different mental stats were taken into account)

Abyssal bloodline strenght bonus is also inherent bonus and goes up to +6.
I tried a Legend Shifter -> Druid, now that's a druid I like :D
From my experimentation with Shifter's Edge, with 19 Str and 14 Dex plus Weapon Finesse, it was giving me an extra point of damage, even though accuracy was based on Str. I am level 3 so far
I'm not understanding your comment, you say you had "19 str and 14 dex plus weapon finesse", if you have weapon finesse then your accuracy isn't based on str?
@@chriswhinery925 when I go into the numbers, my accuracy bonus with my claws is based on the higher Str score, but in combat, it would give me the extra point of damage from Shifter's Edge
I'm quite happy with the shifter class in general. The Feyform and Manticore shifters are really stacked, and the basic class seems pretty good too.
I wish the developers had spent a bit more time creating some interesting new shapeshifting feats though. We only got a handful, and they're all objectively terrible. You'd be better off picking your feats at random then selecting any of the new shifter themed ones.
Listen, 1d6 damage for a feat that requires 19 wisdom, a stat which otherwise offers little benefit, is totally OP. Particularly given that it requires you to take ascendent element to get it to do anything.

Regarding the underwhelming Dragonblood Shifter - you can make your own proper Dragon Shifter with Legend Mythic path:
Start as regular Shifter and take: 15x Shifter, 3x Mutation Warrior, 4x Brownfur Transmuter, 8x Dragon Disciple, 10x Eldritch Knight - you'll get Brownfur boosted Dragonkind III for the 5th Act with Shifter aspects and Shifter's Fury AND a ton of buff spells. Might be fun 🙂

regardles, all cRPGBro's builds seem to be quite OP, so pick what you like the most 😉
I just discovered something really broken - Shifter's fury works for ANY natural attack you may have from any source and ADDs up to all your attacks with a regular weapon.
Soooo, if you are a legend with 40BAB and 8 attacks per round with a Weapon AND a bite from let's say Feral mutagen, you also get ADDITIONAL 8 bite attacks!
This also adds up together with two weapon fighting and monk's flurry of blows with a monk weapon.
Just thinking out loud: Horse Shifter legend build with witch of the veil. Swift teleport + 40 BAB (Transformation) overrun each turn. Practically a hoof tsunami as a default attack.
shifter rush seems like it could be use with more charge incline form like (Boar, Horse) and if charge doesn't kill the enemy, swift action shape to more combat form (very Rpglike as it seem it just better to charge with pounce raptor/tiger :D and do not care, still could be useful with skald in the team)
Alternatively if this works with Gold Dragon Shapechange it could be useful to manage dragon size in dungeons (explore, and charge as a raptor, then swift action form change into GD once you are in combat )
Feyform shifter azata orntrickster sounds pretty dope. Maybe even lich too.

I'm curious what sort of interesting Druid / Shifter build ideas might be possible at the moment. I was wondering if the Claws from Elemental Rampager scales with Shifter in the same way that Bombs from Alchemist can increase to 20d6 if you combine it with an Arcane Bomber.

Are minor aspects scale of character lvl or shifter lvl, cuz if if its char lvl you can get a lot of boosts

I was just testing fast and seems like shifter can get double amount main attacks if using weapon and shifters fury (lvl6 talent). Didnt give combat test but checking martial sheet both weapon and your primary natural attack gets full attack benefits (you can even dual wield, maybe legend motherless demonshifter might be a thing?)
For the companion shifter, am I right in saying as soon as he can be permanently in griffon form there is no point in being in human form? Looking at the character sheet griffon has more attacks and does more damage - am I missing something?
everytime i change back from my beast form my abilities on the action bar disapear and they dont reapear when i change back into a beast. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this?
The dragon and fiend archetypes are really disappointing. With dragon, they should have added +Charisma to AC and maybe some spells or spell-like abilities that use Charisma. With Fiend, they should have given you some demon or devil shapes.
Dragonblood should've given you crazy good stuff, while giving it to you earlier than other classes.
Imagine if it got Dragonkind 1 at 6, Dragonkind 2 at 9, and Dragonkind 3 at 12.

Weird thing is, they already have models for some Devils and Daemons. Devils have hellhounds, erinyes, and imps while Daemons have the Thanadaemons and Astradaemons. I'm pretty sure there's 1 more Daemon in the game but i forgot which one it is.
I don't think I'll play as a Shifter because the new companion is one, but maybe a Wildshape Druid/Shifter could work. Something like 16 Druid/4 Shifter, with Angel as the Mythic path.
Why would you only take 4 of shifter? It's best ability is at level 6. Which would give you AB and multiple attacks because of your base AB. If you're making a Druid/Shifter build you'd be crippling yourself by not taking it.
Did Owlcat change anything about the shifter when they implemented it, to change how it was perceived as opposed to the tabletop version? I checked Archives of Nethys and it looks nearly identical. Is it only the change from the aspects' stat bonuses becoming inherent rather than enhancement?
That's the main thing, but it's also helped a TON by mythic abilities.

You missed a feat cRPG Bro. You forgot to mention Shifter's Multiattack (or whatever it's called) the one that turns your iterative attack penalty from -5 to -2, which is a huge deal.
not iterative attack - I've checked that part - it works with baseline atacks of any shape you have. For instance all baseline dragon atask(2 claws, 2 wings tail) counts. But 5 bites from shifter does not: still -5 per each
@@antonbog8930 Gotcha. So not the 2nd/3rd/4th etc etc attack with a primary weapon but instead a change from a -5 to a -2 on secondary natural attacks like gore, wing attacks, tail attacks?

Two things to note.
1) Frightful shape might be one of the most poorly designed feats I've ever seen. It only works on enemies that are equal or lower level than yourself? So basically the stuff that you could easily kill anyway.
2) The shifter Minor aspects are awkward to use. It's true that the duration doesn't have to be used all at once. But as soon as you untoggle the ability it turns off and you lose all the benefits. So you can't activate it to gain a minute duration, and then turn it off so you don't waste it. What ends up happening is you turn it on, and have to leave it on for the encounter, and then when the encounter ends you forget to turn it off and you use up all your duration really quickly. If you toggle it on and off it uses up a full minute of duration, and yet still turns off instantly. The implementation of the ability is really annoying, you should get that full minute duration whether you toggle it off or not.

Pretty sure it doesnt. You specifically have to get your damage bonus from strength for it to function if the wording is accurate.

Definitely Wolf Shifter!
Monk only has a single free Trip, Wolf form has it on ALL its numerous Bite attacks!
Kinda underselling that free tremorsense on the spider, imo. You ignore gaze attacks and no concealment/invisibility matters to you. That's very very strong on a melee character.
The main issue is while Tremorsense can be nice, I just don't think it is worth the Major Form slot when other forms can provide more in comparison.
Echolocation or Blind Fight can greatly help too, but in 95% of the cases, True Seeing Communal is more than enough to bypass Concealment.
Can you help with a Rageshaper build? The only thing I can think of is to go Legend with Invulnerable Rager and walk away with DR 20 at 40th level.

Shifter-Mutation Warrior seems to be the logical pairing. On top of getting mutagens you also get weapon training for natural attacks.
For a Trickster Claw based Shifter, the tiger form is a good form???
I’ll respond because I’ve now restarted as manticore, feyform, and base shifter.
Feyform is great. I just wasn’t in love with the fantasy of turning into an Ankou, it just felt…wrong. And while sneak attack is bonkers, I don’t play on high difficulty so that much attack was such overkill for me.
Manticore is ranged
As far as basic goes, not only is tigers minor very good if you’re using a more dex based build. I’ve found tiger major form to be somewhere near top of the line.
It’s got pounce. Which means you can charge an enemy and still do your full amount of attacks. If you have your tank holding 2 enemies, or 3. You can charge pounce one, and if you kill them still bust the other ones up too.
I had that happen even at level 4. My other favorite aspects are wolf, wolverine, and mammoth or bear. But spider minor does give you some yummy AC
With the new manticore class do you think Wenduag would make a good shfiter?
Lann and Wenduag are both awesome shifters, using lann as a manticore now.
100% yes! She's even built for it with Point Blank + Precise Shot at level 1 and great STR/DEX scores.
question... does Legendary proportions work on shifters when they are in their full form?
Yes, the stat/AC boosts will be applied just fine.
@@cRPGBro Hey!, wow you replied - awesome! thats strange? im in feyshifter full form and apply legenday proportions and the tiny icon is greyed out and i dont see the spell bonuses/minuses on my character? Weird... PS i have no other buffs on him when I do so, Oh well:) Im not sure if you have already but a video on what SIZE altering spells/abilities can be used in combination with each other would be amazing! As some of the spell decriptions are a little vague in that regard... For example Aspect of the falcon. I cast that before legendary P, and LP stays greyed out! weirder...
I'm picturing a build.I wish I had this dlc To make it. It's hunter with Bear pet and shifter Major bear form and azata for another pet. Aivu UMD (Use magic Device) make her use beast scroll to turn her into bear. Equip Thundering Claw of the Bear God which will work for you and your pets. That's 1d10 i think electric or sonic dmg on crits. Plus since you are hunter and azata you can get all the teamwork feats. I'm just picturing the dire bear and two other bears just pulling up and beating up mobs with some caster's in the back. You could prob do this with druid and the melee might be worst but overall being able to cast in wildshape form might be better but I still like the shifter aesthetic plus druid defualt armor looks trash compared to shifter.
Every time you transform your abilities are deactivated and also dissapear from the taskbar because they reset, so managing the new character Ulbrig is not fun at all, which is fitting because jesus christ, another Amiri, thanks Owlcat.
Can't believe we got another dlc where a feat is completely broken, and they didn't fix again the triceratops trip
It also happens to be the only feat that is even remotely worth considering. Even so, if you want to make a dexterity based build you'd be better served by using an amulet of agile fists, or grabbing mythic weapon finesse.
The new feats are beyond underwhelming.

I'm awaiting anxiously to see what absolute busted builds you come up with for the class. NGL though, I was really disappointed with the Dragon shifter once I saw it up close.

It would be good if other characters could ride the shape shifters horse shape or size appropriate. That would add something unique to the game.
I'd also really like if we could ride other characters in animal forms or pets from other characters too!
@cRPG Bro I would think you can do it in pnp. Not sure but a talking horse sounds like a fun character. Not sure why they are a hated class on tabletop. I know the Power spike I get from mammoth major form is strong. I'm looking forward to the shifter npc.

Does anybody know how to get Ulbrig's class for the player character? I really don't care for Owlcat locking the griffon behind a companion. It would be like BG3 locking an Owlbear form behind some NPC. Fuck that.
I have to be honest, whilst I like it conceptually, I dont see the shifter being competitive with warriors like demon slayer or mutation warrior. Early on, I dont think its going to be very tanky if you focus on strength and it doesnt have reach or a pet to mount, so you are a squishy melee, with a potentially large number of attacks, but fairly low quality, with a lack of AB bonuses and damage modifiers. Its feat starved, with no bonus feats, multiple weapon types and several shifter specific feats. I think at also suffers from stacking fairly poorly with the ever OP skald, due to the redundancy of pounce, claw and bite attacks with a lot of the forms.
I think feyshifter with a very large number of attacks and full sneak attack progression could be very strong offensively, and child of the manticore looks to be a stronger ranged warrior relatively than the base shifter is a melee warrior. I also think legend and lich actually compliment the class rather well and it appears you have picked up on that from your footage. Fear control and death rush will certainly work nicely.
Btw, can you not take weapon mastery in spikes? I would have thought the extra crit multiplier superior to 1 rank of favoured enemy.

So wild effigy can wear armor and keep their defensive stats?
You could, but it's very easy to get good DEX as Shifter and also, while under the animal shapes, your body slot armor won't give any benefits.
@@cRPGBro but you could theorically put 4 point in shifter wild effigy , to get the tank bonus with just the minor spider or wolverine aspect , but probabily is better to find a fortify bonus armor
why is owlcat so cagey about transforming into a dragon, it should be the coolest transformation not the lamest
wow man, I feel that. In addition gold dragon is lacking content. Singleplayer games where you can play as a dragon just nearly do not exist, I really hoped that pathfinder will correct it, but it seems that dragons here is just a gimmick
I'm honestly more upset they added a griffin transformation but made it NPC only

Why is it that the actual dragon shit is always the worst. I just want to play as something draconic that doesn't need several spells (mirror and haste) to be viable. Dragon Disciple is a mage class that gives you melee stats for 10 levels of progression, Dragonheir scion is just a worse fighter, the dragon path is apparently near the end of the game. Why can't the sub archetypes be balanced without ruining them entirely but especially why are people who want some connection to dragons just perma fucked in this game?

I really don't understand...Dragons are supposed to be great creatures that could "rule" the world if they wanted, yet every subclass that has Dragon in it is subpar at best...Like you get your transformation later than anyone and STILL every other shifter will kick your ass...a Tiger/Wolf being stronger than a Dragon is such a joke...
