The current theory is that Noth (former #1 nw and notorious irl trader/duper) who has around 20 ish trillion coins in dupe stashs lying around and was wiped during the hex dupe may be attempting to hurt the economy cause he is a bit butthurt over being wiped

the economy is getting destroyed by botting/macroing empires the ones that are shown to the public are a very little scale you can easly bot a very cool thing making 4m/h with no progress on a fresh acc with a 600k setup and you can do it on 600-800 accs without anything happening

I just love logging back in every 6 to 8 weeks and seeing how the skins I bought last year are now at 200 million each. When they came out, they were trading for 35 million. Imagine if you had to actively play the game to make money :D
I bought rose dye when it released for about 30 mil, stayed that price for a while until i logged in today, checked, and it doubled in price. Quickly sold it for some good money :)
I remember when a group manipulated the price of stonks 3 years ago and they bought at like 10k/piece and sold it for 200k/piece and made around 500 mil. It's crazy that now stonks cost 20mil and nobody is saying nothing about it

The reason for the price rising so high is because cboo uploaded and showed what he invested in next and everyone started buying cuz they see Cboo makes a crazy amount of profit and not even playing
So a ton of people got into or just bought skins / dyed armor

im commenting as someone with an econ degree focusing in markets and models. I only have like 2 week in skyblock so Im far from an expert. My thought is that if you add a price cap then the only time it is effective, is when more people are willing to buy it at a higher price than the cap. As you said in the video, if the demand is higher then the price will increase and then the price cap could be increased. This then means that when it hits the price cap everyone should be trying to buy it as the demanded price is above that level so you will profit once the cap is increased. Except for some market manipulation or very illiquid goods. I worry that if you add a price cap, once it hits the price cap it will be impossible to get any of it until the admins allow it to get to the equilibrium price.
What if instead if a good had a notable change in price in the last 24 hours or since the last time you bought it give an additional confirmation for instabuy. I would also appreciate if they showed how deep the isntabuy went into the sell orders. For small quantities of liquid good this should be irrelevant, but you could see for a buy price there is only a few goods and the rest are much more expensive, for low volume goods.
I'd love to hear others thoughts, as i am not too familiar with the details of the skyblock market specifically.
There is a reason for the drastic price increase in most skins/dyes etc.
Cboo (a Skyblock youtuber) created a video talking about his profits in investments over the past 1yr+. A lot of people watched the video, and in the video Cboo reinvested a lot of money into more skins/dyes, for example the warden dye, hence because of the stupid amount of profit he made, people invested into the skins/dyes he invested into therefore over doubling some of the prices.

Recently I was crafting tessellated ended pearls as it was a big flip. About 20 mins in I made 8m or smth then someone crashed the price to 1 coin.before realising, I insta sold and It cost me like 30m in lost items
i know people don’t want the same thing as me but i would love if they reset everything or make a separated skyblock where everything is reset alot would find it enjoyable but alot would hate it.

I don’t think we should counter rig the bazaar against rigging, I think scammers and people who exploit others should be punished appropriately and that should not affect how people use the bazaar normally.

Honestly imo i dont see it as a bad thing. If you're very perceptive in checking what you're buying, seeing if its at a good price, and understanding when you should buy it compared to weeks from now. You 100% all of the time will see an increase, I have ~4b in cosmetics, whether applied or not. And 99% of them I've obtained with understanding of the market.
If a dye looks good, or cosmetic looks good, It will go up. Duh, To what I've seen within the past couple of weeks, people are buying more and more cosmetics, whether it be with gems or on the AH, whether it be an investment, or they like the skin. For me, most of my cosmetics worth is going in dyes, as I have 10+ of each firesale dye.
If you want my current opinion, If you see something you like, and if you can afford it, then buy it as soon as you can if its more than a week old. Firesale items have a different thing, but with cosmetics that have been out for a really long time, they're only going to go up. For firesale items that are new and volatile, id say compare their price to gems, as in if it costs about 40m in gems to buy(comparison is from booster cookies), and you see it for 45m-50m, that is the lowest its going to get.
Also if you're looking to buy for investments, please for the love of god use hyauctions. like a week ago I bought a pastel edrag skin for 107m, firmly understanding that it was at an amazingly good price(skins almost 100% of the time will be cheaper if you bought it applied), but I bought the skin itself, now they're like 220m.
