I bought this spray gun (SATAjet 100 BF-RP) a week ago and used it for a garage paint job for a car hood. I used it for primer, base and clear. The SATA 100 series with the 1.4mm RP tip are very versatile and I was really impressed. There is almost no over spray, atomization is excellent. If you read the manual and set up your system right you can easily use it for primer/base/clear coats. I paid $380(USD) for it and will use it for future projects.
Bought this gun to use at work. I use it everyday. Absolutely worth it. The cheap primer gun the shop used, only 1 between 4 guys, totally not taken care of left texture similar to gator hide..Had to sand everything several times starting at 220, now it's one pass w 320 n done. I bought the sata after only using the shop gun once. It's the best taken care of gun in the shop.
I have the sata 100 bf HVLP in a 1.9 and have been using it now for 8 years and it's still going strong. I love it and even bought a the 100 bf rp in a 1.4 just 6 months ago for sealer and is absolutely amazing. Great guns!
@thegunman Im the jackass that didnt like the gun and asked about the PRI. LOL! I got a PRI. It has much more output and really like it. Thanks for the review and shout out!
Got my Pri pro lite 3 months ago to do a full (from bare metal) resto on a fullsize chevy truck. Epoxy, polyester, etc. Got that bitch dialed, and pumps the material on nice. Thanks gunman. loving it.
Please include an sgk with a 1.8mm tip in the primer gun review. Its been nearly 3 years since I bought it for $130 us shipped and its still perfect after all kinds of abuse. That gun deserves a commemorative throwback vid or something. It can still hold its own within your fleet of pro lites.
The Gunman Seeing that title pop up in my notifications is gonna be like christmas as a kid. Was my 1st (capable) gun, purchased on your recommendation, and now I couldn't imagine my life without the passion I have for the trade. My flg5 is your gti pro. Special tool to me for sure. Thank you.
Gunman, if the cost isn't an issue, just based on performance, do you have problem with the Sata? I'm deciding on a line to purchase normally I'll stick with a brand of tool.
Great gun Gunny i use the sata 1000b rp in a 1.4 1.6 1.8 and 2.5 for my primers the guns look very similar but the 1000 is a bit more expensive. Happy Easter bud
good review so which nozzle size u recommend for primer 1.8 or 2.0 paint rep rec, 2.0 i have a sata klc 1.6 for priming it socks at spraying large panel the fan pattern is to small , but still pumps out primer was thinging about 100bf but that will cost me almost $4000.00 my currency happy easter all
Did you ever test accuspray and made an review of it? I really would like you to test it and tell how you like it and what settings you would use it as a primer gun. With accuspray I really struggle with wet on wet primer or non-sanding primer what ever you call it In your country. Accuspray leaves so much orange peal to it and I dont know why. Other than that it has good features as well like its easy to clean and not much overspray.
I got 2 sata 4000 b's for a 100 euros i found them in the spray gun graveyard and they needed some parts i like them but i still prefer a devilbiss gti pro anyway great review gunny and happy easter
dautopor its just a big box of old sprayguns we had in our shop lots of sata 2000 's and sucktion fed spray guns the 2 4000 where the only 2 that i would dare to paint with most of them where beat up and just filled with primer and paint
it's never too old gun or too dirty gun :D my father still paynting with his old shit sata from 1994 never changed a part or giving good cleaning :) (thou not saying it's a good way ..)
I've heard nothing but good reviews on the Iwata LPH-440 primer guns from custom painters. Would it be possible for a review on that if you can get one cheap?
No regrets in buying a 2.0 instead of 1.8? I wonder which tip size i should go for. You can dial a 2.0 down for thinner primers, you can't dial a 1.8 up for thicker ones.
RE Bonnet Coverage: When you swap from one side to another on a large surface like the bonnet, is there ever a visible difference in the 'laydown' of the paint particles?
Looking forward to the primer gun reviews. Also, it would be nice to see how all these newer guns like the 4600 xtremes and carbonios stack up against each other in one of your detailed reviews. Happy Easter to you too!!! ✌
Hi Gunman, I have one quick question for you :) I'm gonna paint my car by myself with not so big compressor. Do you think that Ani minigun(r150) is going to be good enough? It is small car, I would paint all doors, bonnets etc one time, and the rest other time(roof and let's say 2 panels of area).. it's yugo, maybe you even know the car :) if so, would it be better 1.0 or 1.2 fluid tip? :) i would use some cheap 1.4 gun for primer :) Thanks mate, cheers! :)
It's possible I suppose, it would just take a lot longer than using a full-size gun. I've got an R150 with a 1.2 tip which gets a lot of use. Last weekend I used it on an alloy bullbar, etch, primer and single stage 2 pack. Used it on a bootlid a few weeks ago without major issues, just slow.
Scott Doyle well cool, I supposed that speed is an issue.. I'm doing it at home, no rush, so should be good.. after that probably I will paint some repairs, so guess no need for big compressor and full size gun.. no enough money, so I thought it would be better to buy small quality gun, than low price full gun :) thanks :)
It's a great gun, i have it for over 2 years now but the hvlp, what i regret is that i both the 1,7 cap i should of get at least the 1,8, over all it's worth every penny i was always saing a cheep gun is good for primer..but i was throwing them away every 3-5 moths
I'm wondering, wouldn't a 2.0 tip be the best size? You can always dial it in for thinner primers. You can't dial a 1.8 tip out for thicker primers. Has a 2.0 tip any drawbacks?
Well, I guess by that logic we could use primer guns to clear with. I find 1.8 best for primer, it doesn't leave you with as thick or peely primer, you can always just go slower or put an extra coat on if necessary. I used to use 2.0 primer guns and they do work fine, so whatever works for you really.
@@TheGunmanChannel I just watched a Sata video where they showed that dialing the fluid in makes the fan smaller, so that's the drawback. And the tip wears faster.
Hey mate good review I have one of these in 1.4 and I think it’s great I use it for wow and dg as I spray water so not really any good for that but like yourself I could see the 1.4 being used for solvent base coat and some clears 👍🏻 you’re welcome to borrow it and have a go if you like?
I'll probably take you up on that, got lots of work on my hands with these primer gun reviews first but after that I'll hit you up if the offer still stands then, I'll give your channel a shout-out if we end up doing it.
Yeah mate no worries happy to help you out aye be good to see what you think of it so when you’re ready hit me up and we will sort it out mate in the meantime look forward to seeing more primer gun action 🤙🏼

Daniel Morgan Google sherwin Williams automotive. Find one in your area. Right now theyve got a tekna pro lite anniversary (nebula) blue edition, with all air caps, and tips, plus a digital devilbiss regulator, and an oversize aluminium pot for $450.
Joseph Blankenship agree with you but my cromax gives me a spectro to match the color which debeer doesnt. Debber only use sample color chips. I think most debeer color is blendable but for some faded color it is very bad.
Joseph Blankenship I paint a nissan tiida bumper last week and the color code is b16 crystal blue. One of my cromax tinter is empty and the supplier couldn't do the delivery at the same day so I bought 200ml debeer paint. I put 150ml thinner in it and spray the bar. When i fit the bar the color difference is black and white. Have to wait cromax tinter and redo the job. Cromax pick this color as a faded color and gives a faded fomular. mix and paint. bang bang all good
The Gunman How much was he getting paid per week? I'm a second year apprentice and I'm about to start looking for a new shop. I'm only being paid $400 US per week, and work 5.5 days a week. Just wanted a rough estimate of how much I should be making per week
That's why I can't recommend them to most people, I can't justify the money, sure they are great guns but their flagship guns just don't hit the value for money target like some other brands.
The Gunman absolutely agree with you for my high build only gun I just use a graco finex big cup 2.2 m tip it was 100 us I think works like a charm thinking about buying a couple tekna bc cc guns or super nova tell u what gunny you ever wanna come to Florida on holiday and paint some shit u hit me up always welcome in my shop

Can't wait to see the primer Top 10. I bought the PriPro based on your review. Anxious to see how it measures up against this SATA.

i use the 1.4 for sealer and sprays great
If you like the 100 BF, try the sata jet 1000. very similar gun body, but better for basecoat and clear ;) very similar price as well
Its an awesome gun. I use a 1.4 gotta work alittle hard for the build but it can lay the primer down like glass
I've got the same one in 1.4 for my sealer and I'll use it for basecoat when I'm doing multiple colors 👍
Nice gun ! I like a 1.8 for primer. Thanks Gunman ! 👍

Hello, which pressure reducer do you have on the gun?
If you have the money great gun. If On a budget the flg5 with the 2.0mm tip is great entry level. Worth looking at the gpi aswell. 👍
Sure, but I find this one not so expensive to man who making his business seriously
Hey Gunman! What would you recommend to a beginner who's looking for a decent spray gun??

Out of Curiosity what's the highest Pressure you have sprayed at?
I spray some guns at 3.0 bar/43PSI like the ANI F150 but usually basecoat at 20psi, clear at 29psi and primer at 15psi

we have a similar, maybe the same gun for years, our satas are like 5-6 years old, its funny how long those guns are usable
I have the 1.2 had to order the kit came as a 1.8
I also have that gun, but it's not an RP, it's a hvlp. I really like it.
I love this gun because it's really easy for paint the primer my nozzle is the 2.0rs

I would like to see a review & your thoughts on the “Eastwood Concours Pro” paint & detail gun
I have a jet 100 b f rp 1.4 and i use it for everything including base+clear and single stage paint. Is that fine? It seems to do everything

Hi Gunny! I've been thinking, that this Satajet 100 is morelike some "old-fashioned" or old desing. I obviously was wrong..
can i use this gun with puliurethan paint in woodworking applications??
thanks
What a beauty😍
