Sorry to post twice, but I decided to try this and update my Launchbox FM emulator from MESS to this. Great tutorial! When I loaded the GUI first time to test outside LB, it worked fine....but then I copied your command line and the games started fine, full screen and ESC and all....but my controllers weren't working all of sudden. I tried both hat and analog way. Then, just by guessing since I was in game port 0, I changed the "PHYS1" or "ANA1" part of command line to "PHYS0" and "ANA0" and suddenly all worked again! If anyone is having problems with a USB controller, try that! I'm shocked it actually worked.
I've been meaning to try out the FM-Towns versions of Ultima Trilogy, but could never be bothered to wade through vanilla Tsugaru. Thank you so very much for this video. 👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Big thanks to you man! Got this working on just a single rainy Saturday afternoon! Using a ps dual shock 4 pad on analog mode I had to set the arguments to ana0 instead of ana1 to make it work, like someone suggested in the comments. Also exit is working with my controller hotkey (ps button and touchpad) so that's a bonus! Thanks again 👍👍
I've contacted via mail Tsugaru's programmeron December : unfortunately he replied me he was too busy for creating a section for remapping keys on Tsugaru's GUI... :( awaiting......
I trudged through and somehow got this working in Launchbox with a standalone MESS and some command lines about 5-6 years ago when I started going crazy with retro game collecting and building/learning all console emulation databases! But wanted to try and update some of my things in Launchbox, as it seems RetroArch cores have come out with newer ones that cover lots of the obscure systems I like, or just better versions of previous cores over 5 years ago...thanks for making a more current vid of this system that is very tricky for people to get running, but IMO, underrated! EDIT: Anyone have a ROM or even physical version of Undeadline on this that can confirm, to me it only seems it was on Genesis in Japan and X68000, but a YT vid said there was FM Towns version??
I always used Hyperspin for my arcade cabinet but then had a catastrophic hdd incident and lost everything... whilst i still think that hyperspin is better overall there was no way i was going through all that set up again. Launchbox/bigbox is very easy and does everything i need now, obvs some emus like this and the cd32 need a bit of brain power to get right though
