Played Beach Head a lot when I was young, then I remember my Dad buying Power at Sea and I barely touched Beach Head after that. I remember being disappointed that when you land troops you just get a cutscene, but the rest of the game made up for that. Lots of fond memories there.

Wow. Synchronicity. I just found Accolade's Mini Putt a mere day ago. Fantastic c64 game.
We spent a lot of time playing Hardball II and Ace of Aces which I am a bit surprised that I didn't see. As a flight game I found that the cockpit and bombing variations kept it fresh and the gameplay itself was addictive (and good controls). I didn't feel that way again about a flying game until Wings on the A500, which in my opinion is one of the most stellar examples of an all around perfect game (controls, story, graphics, replay value).

Test Drive was my childhood! Felt proud telling my classmates I drove a Lamborghini today! 😂
Mini-Putt Challenge was another game I played the hell out of! I'd often play levels over and over again to get the eagle or birdie!

I loved sports games such as Emlyn Hughes and Graham Gooch Cricket so would have enjoyed the game back then. I loved John Madden on the Amiga. I used to play Hardball. After getting over my disappointment with the graphics, which looked nothing like the beautiful screenshots of the VGA version, I read the rules, set up the board, started a game against the computer and promptly quit when it became obvious that the computer was cheating. I had set up traps, but the computer avoided every single one of them and made a beeline straight for my flag.

Could you actually ‘play’ microleague baseball? I had that on my Apple2 and was only a simulation of being a coach? Could of been me being a kid. But can you play; hit, pitch, run etc. ?

Oh yeah. Accolade, man. I have strong memories of playing Test Drive and Power At Sea. I loved Steel Thunder. I have a couple of Accolade titles in my library and I have to say I really love having a copy of T.K.O. Oh. Let those puny Nintendo dorks have their tiny boxing games. C64 had TKO and man it's good.

Nr. 1: Grand Prix Circuit. Nr. 1b: Test Drive. Played both forever. Would have loved to get my hands on TD2 The Duel! Never played it much, but The Cycles is GPC on motorcycles, also very good. Why is it not in the top 20?
Bubble Ghost is a really nice game, was even ported to Game Boy.
Jack Nicklaus has the same slow build up of the grapics. But it looks ugly! I mean, look at 1:40. And it's from 1989! I liked Leaderboard, but JL may be worth a try, nontheless.
I think i played Law of the West, but not very often. Don't know why. It's one of not too many wild west games on C64. Should give it another try!
Fast Break: every soccer/basketball/ice hockey/tennis/volleyball game is worth a try, i think.
Accolade Comics has an interesting look and concept.
The Train seems to be very intresting!
And Killed until dead too. I like detective/gangster games, although i'm not into adventures.

Oh. Grand Prix Circuit. I played the s*it out of it on a IBM CGA PC with a friend. Amazingly fun. I even remember all the names of the ai drivers.

Dang, honestly makes me sad that the only thing Accolade will ever be known for these days is Bubsy. Not even Star Control is that well known compared to the annoying bobcat. They have these many great games yet the bobcat managed to put them all into dead obscurity. Like, seriously, Michael Berlyn should've known that they were dealing with PROS & that he wasn't one.

Love the list. I don't play sim games, but it's a quality education to learn what was possible from those who do. And some, like your number one pick, speak for themselves.
With that said, and keeping in mind this is coming from a Yank who actually does know how football is played....I don't get the placement of 4th and inches. At all. "Sort of enjoy it"? Is this your list or your audience's? You didn't offer a single reason why it ranked higher than Law of the West, for example. And that slow motion action doesn't look inviting.
I had to do some independent research to find out why anyone liked it at all.

I understand that you have to get the ball over the line, its kind of like rugby although we arent allowed to throw it forward. I do understand the principles of the game just not all the tactics and plays. I can win games in 4th n inches. The reason its higher than law of the west is although i loved it back in the day, once youve played it a few times youve seen it all...with 4th n inches no 2 games are the same as with most sports games making the longevity of the game better

Objectively Accolade didn't make a single really bad game, but subjectively most didn't appeal to me. Test Drive I & II are awesome, and Law of the west is lots of fun, but is just multiple choice and has a terrible replay value (eg compare Activision's incredible Alter Ego). Mini-Putt is fun too, but not better than comparable minigolf games (eg by Capcom or Magic Bytes). Psi 5, Killed until dead, The rain and to a lesser degree Stratego and Card Sharks are also nice, but also no Ubergame and the rest just didn't appeal to me. Nothing wrong with the games, just not my cup of tea. Microprose, Epyx, Synapse, Broderbund, EA, Sirius, SSI or Hewson's games just had more appeal to me. Eg EA's Archon blows Stratego just out of the water (given that's not Accolade's fault, as the port of the boardgame is pretty good, and the only one I'm aware of, on any system).
