    The way I interpreted the video, and the way i felt when I went to shows, is he learned to channel his trauma in the pit and let go of that shit...metal shows were always great for my mental health.

    • @charltonsticher3461
      @charltonsticher3461 4 місяці тому +1

      Is it because of the primal energy of heavy metal kinda just envelopes you and makes that trauma shit small in comparison, or am I just talking out of my ass? 😅

    • @bondvabond
      @bondvabond 4 місяці тому +2

      @@charltonsticher3461 Can be. I interpret it as metal being an emotional outlet for people to deal with their feelings. The aggression, headbanging and primal screaming is amazing for letting out tough feelings and "fighting back" against trauma. Acting aggressively is a common manner people deal with trauma, but ofc nobody should act like that towards other people. Violence and abuse are not okay. Listening and jamming out to metal tho, is a perfectly healthy form of getting that aggression/those feelings out. It works much the same as playing violent games (like GTA), hitting a punching bag or breaking stuff. You physically FEEL better afterwards (in most cases at least) and can then go on with your life with less stress/things bothering you kept bottled up. That's also why most metalheads you meet will actually be total softies/some of the chillest people you'll ever meet, contrary to the stereotypes.
      The video, in my eyes, has Daz finding the underground metal club thing, which is a direct metaphor for the metal community and the acceptance/peace he finds in it, as well as him taking back the power from his trauma. The people fighting represent the mosh pit.
      The creepy guy that scares Daz earlier that he finds there and then blocks him from leaving is his fear/phobia of pain and the associated trauma. Earlier on, he is unwilling to face his trauma and apprehensive of the metal community. The guy acts as his enemy initially, but when he starts fighting and moshing with the rest, it cheers him on. He channels his feelings into the music and doesn't let it control him anymore. It blocking him from leaving is literally him being forced to face his fear.
      Then he ofc fights his "dad", which is his own personal demons. The people are happy for him, as he has now become part of the community. Metalheads (most, at least) are always happy to accept more people into the community and connect based on the music, what it means to us and how we express ourselves (headbanging, moshing, screaming along etc.)

    Tyler Smith from Dangerkids was the one who basically worked on both I Prevail’s latest album and Falling in Reverse lastest album as well. You can def hear Dangerkids/linkin park influence in most their songs for a reason and it’s Tyler Smith. He’s amazing.

    To me it looked like he imagined overcoming his fear of his dad bc it looked like his dad in the wall of people that charged at him. Seems like he imagined the whole event starting with the dude inviting him to fight club but through his imagination he overcame his trauma, not sure tho it was very confusing.

    Analysis: The music helped him through his past. Getting his anger out in the pit was the spark he needed to light the gasoline and move on from his trauma. Mosh pit therapy. At least in my opinion.

    Experts say metalheads have the least mental issues because going to shows and releasing your anger in a pit is a healthy thing! This guy beat his dad down in the pit until he disappeared. The burning it all down with gasoline is just a metaphor for letting your shit go and leaving it all in the pit!
