My grandma just asked "This lady you always watch speaks english but then she eats and speaks another language every time, why is that?".... I said "Cause the food is so authentic if you eat it you speak Korean , we cant get that stuff around here Nona😂" lol
BLESS YOU for saying that pre-minced garlic is okay. As someone with a disability if it wasn't for convenience ingredients like that I wouldn't be able to do any cooking at all. It's nice to see someone acknowledging that while yes, mincing your own garlic is best, sometimes you need to have the mindset of "don't worry about it!" Thank you so much for that. 💜
Everything about your videos is perfect. From the ingredients to your clear step-by-step instructions, to your pace, your tone of voice, all leavened by your humourous asides, wonderful. Your awareness of the possible difficulties we might have finding some ingredients is also much appreciated! You make our lives richer. Thank you!
We made both of these types of wings for supper today. They were awesome!!! Some of the best wings my family has ever eaten. Going to become a monthly staple in our home. Thank you!
This looks really delicious! I haven’t made wings for a long time but I will try it this weekend. Do you think potato starch would work in place of corn? 감사합니다!
I just made the gochujang wings. Absolutely amazing! Some of the best I've ever had and it's not an exaggeration. I made a couple substitutions for ingredients I didn't have. -Instead of corn syrup I added a little maple syrup - in place of Korean chili powder, i did 1tbsp smoked paprika, 1/4 red pepper flakes, 1/4 cayenne, 1/4 chili powder - instead of chicken bouillon plus water, i used some chicken stock (unsalted) and a pinch of MSG
"Claire" I called, but there is no Claire, just me staring back in the mirror while trying to fill the emptiness inside with Korean food. Sigh. I take a bite and smile, realizing there is more food for me. "And me!" exclaims my dog. I laugh, we high five and continue watching youtube as he wags his tail in anticipation of scraps. All is well in the kingdom.
This dude is the truth, I’ve never cooked anything out of the box apart from the things I know. I’m Caribbean born in London and I’ve always stuck to what I know. My Mrs loves Korean food so I decided to try this, all I can say is follow every instruction step by step and you cannot fail. I did the first Soy based sauce and it was a hit with the whole family, I even surprised myself. This guy deserves a medal. Thanks Aaron from everyone here in the UK
Hi Aaron, great content. I just made the spicy garlic noodle recipe from last week and if was phenomenal. One question - is there a reason you use a western style knife over a Chinese style cleaver that a lot of people use to prepare Asian style food? Just wondering. Thanks!
I love your channel! I have not done much cooking since becoming a widow a couple years ago but YOU have inspired me to get back in the kitchen. I’m making your ground beef bulgogi today. I just put your cook book on my Amazon wish list hoping someone will get it for me for Christmas, but if not…”don’t worry about it”, I’ll buy it for myself!!🥰. I love Claire too “ mmmmhh Bring some beer!”
I appreciate Aaron's relentless sense of optimism! "Don't worry about it!" I was gifted some Samyang gochujang for Christmas and I'm excited to start cooking with it! These videos have been extremely helpful appreciate your work. 💚✌️
Sure! We actually have a recipe for that, so if you need that video/written recipe, please check this out! 😁🙌 aaronandclaire.com/4-ways-to-enjoy-gochujang-korean-chili-paste-recipes/
Don't worry about it, why is this phrase in my head? Thank you Claire and Aaron, I have tried all the recipes and they are so good. I went to Islington Upper street London and there is a real Korean Hallyu. Thank you @BTS #BTS for introducing this culture to me. 💜 So many good Korean food restaurants on my doorstep!
I'm actually posting this during the AFC Conference Championship game, that's how good the gochujang wings are. I'm an American football and buffalo wing fanatic, decided to try these wings for the game today, and WOW, these are fantastic! The flavor was amazing, spicy enough for a little kick, but not so much that my spice-sensitive partner couldn't enjoy it as well. I will likely try to kick up the spice with some extra chili flakes when I make them again for the Super Bowl, which I will absolutely be doing!
I can do buffalo wings salt and pepper, buttermilk, plain, sweet chili, and my own spicy BBQ, and with U tubes save function I'll soon add these thanks
glad i live on guam and saipan - finding the best korean chicken is easy!! even KFC out here sells a version Korean Chicken - definitely not as good as homemade or from one of the many Korean chicken joints, but good enough!!! That cut between the bones (if you make this at home) is realy important for maximum flavor punch!

Hello Arron and Claire. I adore your gochuchang recipe for the chicken wings. Is it possible to use the same sauce on pork ribs and is there a way to make it more sweet and sticky? Lots of Love from your fan
As my Korean friend said, “trying to tell an American that Buffalo wings has a better alternative is like telling a Korean kimchi has a better alternative”… those wise words sunk in
You can easily find mirin at Japanese or Korean grocery stores. But if it's still difficult to get one, you can leave it out. Or if it looks too dry, add a little bit of water. Hope this helps! 🤗
I have all ingredients on hand but need more green onion. I used it up on the kimchi I made today. I need to learn more bonchon recipes from my uhmuhnee but if not, I know I can go to your channel
I made the spicy version tonight for my husband (he is half Korean) and he LOVED them. There were no leftovers. The sauce is just delicious, perfect amount of heat and a nice deep umami from the chicken broth powder, soy sauce and oyster sauce. Yum!
I need to try this! I air fry my wings but I need to try the cornstarch idea for a nice crust. Now I have a few items to pick up at the Asian market to get ready for my next wing night! These both of these sauces look incredible. Thanks for sharing.

This recipe is like a blessing from the lord, i really hate deep frying, because so much of oil gets wasted.
And with the price of cooking oil these days, fried chicken is becoming a luxury food.
Thought about you guys when I was cooking the other night. Helped me get through some self doubt.
👍👍👍

Good Sauce! Try the Gochujang chicken too, it's kickass!
To be fair I like that I don't need to deep fried them, I always make a mess when I deep fried 😊
Thank you so much for this awesome recipe! :)♡
Thank you for saying that!!🙏😍
Hey, is there something I can use instead of the corn syrup or just not use it?
I was thinking of using honey instead but not sure if that's a proper substitution.
Now i know what I'm making tomorrow
Those wings looks like it's going to fly me to heaven 😂😂😂
So glad to hear that!! Thank you so much for saying that!!😍😍😍😍😍

Hi Aaron, can I skip the corn syrup? I used to buy them but always ended up not using it for a long time.
Gochujang Chicken Wings
600g Chicken wings
1 truck Spring Onions
5 cloves Garlic
0.5 tsp Ginger
Sauce:
2 tbsp Chili pepper flakes
1 tbsp White sugar
2 tbsp Gochujang paste
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp Oyster sauce
0.5 tbsp Chicken stock powder
1 tbsp Corn syrup
2 tbsp Mirin
1/4 cup Water
Corn starch for chicken coat

Idk about better than buffalo wings, but to go side by side with buffalo wings, I’ll do that all day.
Korean fried chicken is the best. Second is Japanese karaage. In my opinion
you two are rock stars, so well presented, and I guess you'll be sleeping in the bed tonight
Can i use Ginger paste and wildflower honey instead? Is there any substitutes we can do just in case?
