When I go to heaven all I want is a little patio with some pecan trees, some squirrels, my faithful Fidos that have passed to the rainbow bridge and a flock of the most beautiful birds God ever created....the cardinal.......No other humans allowed....
So cute! I love cardinals. I love how they all sound different too. They have a couple similar base sounds but when it comes to their song they're usually all very different
What an amazing video you've made here! I've always loved cardinals for their exquisite beauty and heavenly songs, but this one sounds truly unique! He seems to blend his notes in a way you don't normally hear from a cardinal, and I don't think I've ever heard one trill like that before. Just awesome! If he's looking for a mate, he ought to find one in no time! Thanks for filming this and sharing with us, f9norman!
Very beautiful song, the first time I heard it. What those who are only experienced with birds of the extratropical northern and western hemispheres will not realise is that the Northern Cardinal, with its monogamy and female song, is really a desert bird living in a mesic habitat. In most birds of subtropical deserts, females sing as much as males (quite different from what North Americans know). Cardinalis almost certainly evolved in arid habitats where the two other extant species occur.
I always wonder what is wrong with people who buy a bird (or more than one) and stick it in a cage, or let it fly around the house, as if that makes up for flying free in its homeland as God intended it to. January 24, 2018
every morning i go to my backyard, i see this one cardinal singing on the tree tops, i attempted to put some bird food on a table and sat there but it never comes down, i want to see it closely to take pictures but i cannot get a good shot of it on the trees :'(
One comes to see me most everyday and sits in the dead tree in my neighbors backyard. Nobody lives there. I feel like he visits just for me. I have a hummingbird too.
Caroline Woods Hi Caroline I live in southwestern Connecticut. About 30 miles outside of New York City. The cardinal is here all year round. They are beautiful birds as is their singing.
I'd be guessing, but I suspect they mate for life. We had a pair in my neighborhood a few years ago. I watched a nest of four eggs. The day before they should have hatched 3 eggs and momma disappeared. I think she fought with a thieving Raccoon. The male seems lonely.. 😞
Can you imagine the feeling of flying? Imagine the wind, the sun, the freedom; imagine the whole world below you. As a child, I would dream about flying, and I envied the life of a bird soaring high in the sky. But many birds don’t get to live this life and instead lead lives of misery in cages as pets. Caged birds are either captured in the wild or bred in captivity. Both are horrible: One involves knowing what freedom was and the other never knowing a minute of it. Around the world, nearly every species of bird is kept in cages, from pigeons to parrots; people create prisons for every type of these beautiful animals. Many people buy birds not knowing of the cruelty that they will be inflicting on them and often underestimating the care that a bird needs. In the wild, birds would never leave their flock, but pet birds rarely ever have the opportunity even to see another bird for their entire lifetimes. Pet birds are often kept in cramped cages where they are unable even to stretch their wings and never know the joy of flying or the happiness of freedom. Birds in cages crave freedom and companionship and often exhibit aggressive, neurotic, and self-destructive behavior as they languish in cramped cages. Because of their seemingly bad behavior caused by their torturous conditions, people will often condemn them to living in dark corners, in basements, or on balconies, all the while locked inside of cages. Birds are known for their complex communication techniques, their beautiful feathers, and their unique intelligence, but when we cage birds, we take away their lives. Buying birds contributes to this horrible problem. Birds are meant to fly and be with their flock. If you are a bird lover, consider buying binoculars and going on bird-watching hikes or making a backyard oasis for your feathered friends. Never cage birds! **January 24, 2018**
Carol Wade yeah you said that already. What about lizards like bearded dragons living in small tanks that are only twice as long as the lizard itself? Only birds you care about? How about fish, they swim in the ocean, but are permanently confined to a tank- they can’t leave their cage to fly around the house and play with their owners. I love birds, and I don’t see what’s so wrong about CERTAIN birds living in a cage. Obviously some should never be kept as pets, cardinals being one of them (I love cardinals and I would love to have one but even if it was legal I never would because it would be cruel) but yeah.. the birds that are known/popular pets, I don’t see what’s so bad about that- at least when comparing them to other animals. I understand the difference, birds get to fly and traverse a large spade, however fish like I said get to swim in massive spaces as well, and that’s kinda like flying. What I don’t like is when people get parrots and weren’t ready for the undertaking of taking care of a bird/pet like that- they can live to like 80 years, and people will buy them, take care of them for a little while (but not do a very good job of it) then they realize it was a lot harder or different than they expected to care for and so they have to give it up for adoption
plopfz cardinals each have a unique call, they all have a similar part of the call, but there’s also the part that’s unique. The unique part is passed down to their young and they will learn it but will repeat it slightly differently. If you really hear cardinals that all sound the same in your area it could be that you’re hearing a few related cardinals, or you’re just hearing the generic part of their call that is kinda the same for all of them. (Lastly, maybe what you’re hearing IS the generic part, and maybe you’re right and it does sound different based on area. Feeewkkk if I know! Lol)
I have one that keeps attacking my new car mirrors...every day, poop and scratches on my mirrors...have resorted to using pillow slip covers tied off with hair bands to prevent it...but is annoying, although I love the bird...
Satsuma Orange what’s there to know? Or a better question, what could you possibly feel about that? Who cares if they wolf whistle at female birds, I hope you weren’t implying that you could potentially feel like it is wrong for the male cardinals to do that. I’m sure you were just joking, I’m praying that’s all there was to it though lol
God did make this and all birds and you too Espio4eva and He wants You to know that He loves You! That is NOT religion but a simple Truth! Religion can be a god on its own that has nothing to do with God. You ever study what Jesus had to say to the "religious" ?
oh yes HE does!!! Seek Him and you will find Him! thats a promise from Him. I think you probably need to apoligize first though. I challenge you to seek him with all your heart all your mind and all your soul and tell me what happens please!
Why do you have to make his "religious bullshit" a big deal? He was expressing his like for the Cardinal and his song; just like you. Why even bother ruining this for someone? Come off it, mate... It just isn't worth it.

Thank you so much for doing this video. What an amazing and gorgeous bird God has given us.
All I can say is wow! The heavens declare the GLORY of God and so does this bird!
So cute! I love cardinals. I love how they all sound different too. They have a couple similar base sounds but when it comes to their song they're usually all very different
The cardinals sing so beautiful. I remember hearing them growing up out on the country. Just a lovely sound. Thank you so much for uploading this.
Absolutely beautiful! I just love them, cardinals bring joy!

Noisy character. Have a male and female in my backyard. When male is in birdbath the female stands guard on the fence. He is a beautiful bright red.
I have never seen a bird like this I'm in California. where is your backyard?

What a sight to see and hear! It's a beautiful song!

Different song down in my area. They're a bit like mockingbirds.

not sure how I feel about knowing that Cardinals are capable of wolf-whistling at female birds.
