    Great video, well explained, thank you. I tried a little different approach. Since this issue is in the connection I fixed the connectors with little effort. My Audi A8 has 2 pin connectors for the brake pads that are in great condition. I put a dab of electrical solder on the top and slightly below the top of the male pins and put a dab of de-electric grease in the female hole connectors. This fixed the warning light issue and I still have a brake light warning system. Thanks again for the video.

    I have this problem on my 2009 Vw Passat 2.0turbo, manual. For over 3 weeks
    The brake pad light had come on.
    Now the car does not start. The engine won’t turn over.
    I thought it was a relay 109 malfunction. Can this warning sign prevent my cars engine from turning

      Hello Вася ! Sorry but my russian is not so good , so going to answer you like that . You can cut the wires where you want . Before or after the plug . I recommend before the plug , because otherwise you will damage the original wiring of the car . You need to short them directly , no need of any kind of resistance . Thanks for watching ! :)

    • @W333dm4n

    • @crank3646
      @crank3646  5 років тому

      Strange ... You have no sensors neither on the front , neither on the rear ? Maybe you have just an indicator that is triggering when you drive certain distance . Try to reset it with some diagnostic tool ?

    I've had this brake warning light for nearly a year, just recently discovered a previous owner has done this and has now failed and the brake warning light comes on all the time, which means mot failure even if the brakes are ok. Why on earth would anybody do this.

    • @crank3646
      @crank3646  5 років тому +3

      Actually the answer is pretty simple . The same reason that this people are driving with the cheapest brake pads available . Old luxury cars have the same maintenance as they were new , but the people driving them have enough money just to buy them , not to repair them :)

    I would rather fix the short in the wiring then bypass an important brake pad wear sensor. What if they wear down to metal to metal? At high speed they could fuse together from the heat and lock up your wheel.

      What do you do on any other car??? You keep an eye on it, don't you?

    • @corbe1970ify
      @corbe1970ify 4 роки тому +6

      This wouldn't happen as you have an mot every year and those who do give a shit about their cars will have it serviced every 6 months to a year so they would be advised to change brake pads anyway

      This is a very irritating lamp that occurs sporadically and irritates me, only a layman can drive a car with worn plates. How about cars that don’t have this light bulb at all as you know on them when the tiles are worn out?

    • @DaytonCarCare
      @DaytonCarCare 2 роки тому

      @@TransportnaPutu Cars that don't have a wear sensor have a small metal flap that will rub and you can hear it. This is a warning before it wears down to the metal on the brake pads. All you smart asses should know that. LMAO

    As a licensed Brake technician for over 20 years my question is, why would you do what a customer wants if it means getting rid of a important warning signal? In the United states you would lose your license

    • @crank3646

      Cmon really there is a brake technician job :D 20 years ... sorry but that sounds so boring . You should be really deaf if you not hear when the metal of the brake pads , start scratching your brake discs . Don't think it is a big deal actually

      What the Fudge!!! You are a brake technician? lol....You are the first "Brake Technician" Job I heard lol..... You just made my day...Even without this censor... when you service a car... it is a routine that a mechanic inspect the condition of the brake pads Mr... Brake Technician... lol In my own opinion... Brake censors are scam!!! They fail a lot of times.. giving panic to people who does not give a shit about money!!!. What do they do when the censor comes on? Oh I have to go to dealer for inspection... What's next? hmmm we need to change your brake pads and you have a damage brake censor that needs replacing also... in Total $1500.00

  • @dbservices5767

    And thats why you shouldnt let foriegners near your car always done on the cheap ,, pads will wear no warning ,discs will be destroyed ,, cheap solution my butt......cheap at time costly in long run.

      Almost all japanies cars doesn't have this brake pad wear sensor. I guess all of them are changing brake discs and pads with every engine oil so to be sure that they are safe.
