    If you maintain your car properly, the probability of the warning light malfunction is higher than actually having bad brake pads and this whole feature makes no sense. The problem is typically that connector in the wheel well - the harder the environment, the more probable it is that the warning light actually only demonstrates how bad that connector is. Here in Finland, where salt is used on the roads during the winter, the environment is really really harsh for those connectors and you end up with warning lights lighting up for no reason other but corrosion in the connector.

      The snow as wheels traverse through it causes snow build up on and around each of the wheel assemblies the snow is what causes the corrosion build up to which makes the sensors begin to act cooky when no real issue is present driver gets bombarded with bunch of false positive abs light in dash...

      Yes, but , not only that, complicated and buggy electronics, make the whole system even more complicated .. these youngster computer geeks should put a feature to disable these ights, because its just annoying , and one more headache for the owners.. I am dealing with this baloney right now, on a touareg, that has nothing to do w salt, and i'ts plainly a software bug , because I changed the pads, and only after the red pads light came on, and the sensors were fine, and I did not damage them.

      @@JohnVieiraact You can disable the warning light with computer if you have suitable software. For example, with VAG cars you want VCDS. Yes, to fix a computer issue, you need an additional computer to workaround the problem.

    Thank you for the video. What size is the wire for the connector that I will buy and sleeve? Thank you

      Doesn’t need to be large, you can just use the wires of the connector

      What if the other side of the connecter is broken? "The vehicle side" then what?@@ChrisNCars

    Thank you for the video but i have a 2016 A8 done the same for all the sensor plugs but yet I still have the error message

      @@abo_95mw47 that’s odd, maybe the plug itself has a loose wire breaking the circuit?

    Hi, thanks for the video, I have second hand car and the break pad working came up 2 days ago. I checked mine and it is actually done the way you showed and my pads are 90% new very little used, so what should I do now not to have it on screen (my car is Volkswagen Passat)

    • @ChrisNCars
      @ChrisNCars  4 місяці тому

      I would check the plugs or remake the dummy plug. If previous owner didn’t solder wires probably came apart

    My warning light started after a week of heavy rain, got new brake pads and want to do a full replacement job but need to pass MOT and that light will kill me there. Brake pads are over 50%, by the way...

      Maybe just replace the sensors and not the pads? 🤷‍♂️

    Why why why…….just replace the pads. Why use your pads to the limit anyway?

    • @ChrisNCars
      @ChrisNCars  Рік тому +5

      I said just replace the sensors and pads, but this is how you turn off the light if you want to.

      Because when you upgrade pads and rotors like most do you can’t connect them. So this is the route we go. 🤷‍♂️

      This is about turning the sensor off so it's NOT on when you have NEW pads. So many mechanics break these. And if you need a sensor to tell you that you need new brakes you prob need someone to wipe when you're done taking a crap too.......
