So rewind is a thing or not? Also I would be curious to see the changing of regional version of the game according to language. Like Contra Hard Corps vs Probotector. Also did they mention anything about the multitap since I've read that 4 players works but I haven't really understood how.
Goddamn this actually looks genuinely amazing! Genesis (or Mega Drive over in UK land) was my first console, a hand me down from my cousin along with my GBA.
What did he say about the HD on tetris?
So, there shouldn't really be an HD lag if you set the HD monitor to Game Mode.
Mega Man, Contra and Castlevania make this well worth it. I'd look like to get a Japanese mega drive, but I think I'll get the Wireless 8bitdo one.
Sonic 3 hasn't been in any Genesis compilations for awhile due to music rights issues between Sega and the music team who helped create some of the tracks along with the late Michael Jackson.
Correct.
blackphoenix77 Wasn’t it just rereleased last year on a Genesis Collection last year on Steam though?
So awesome, I think this is the best official released mini console by far
There are a few games that should’ve been on here ( S3&K, Ristar, Thunder Force 4, Rocket Knight Adventures) but it’s still a solid line up.
seems like the best classic console so far
Hats off for asking the question we all want to know 'Where's sonic 3?'
I believe the rumours it's because of the MJ music but it's weird that Sega won't address it and has clearly told m2 it's a no go.
30 minutes in and no thumbs down. Must be good
Wily Wars finally being released in the west. Took it awhile
Jayson unless you count reproductions
@@jakighcolburnchannel3584 Not legitimate releases. So technically no
Jayson well then does the Sega channel count?
@@jakighcolburnchannel3584 Yes it was a legitimate, but crappy release
I can’t wait until this comes out because to me it’s missing games I really want to play on the device.
I pre-order mine already yay!
How’s the music?
Better
The boxart layout is really nice
OMG I got this as a Bday present, repro, and couldnt play it to much slow down. This right here is why I want to get this mini.
Do we know about the differences between the European and the North-American versions? (Other than the name and design of the console)
SurfingKyogre Same games. Physical design is the only difference.
@@Spindash54 And the menu? Is it like the SNES classic where it has a different aesthetic, but with NA boxart, a different aesthetic and European boxart, or completely North American (the lazy way out)
SurfingKyogre By changing the language of the system itself, it changes the whole menu, boxart, and game ROM (if applicable) to the region of that language. Only thing that doesn’t change is any games that are region exclusive. (Exception being a non-JP asian language turns Mean Bean Machine into Puyo Puyo 1)
@@Spindash54 Wait, are you implying that PAL regions will be getting the inferior PAL versions of all games that have a PAL version? That doesn't sound all that good tbh
SurfingKyogre No, no. I’m not implying any 50 HZ nonsense. I mean instances of there being a difference with the game like the title, censorship, etc.
OH THANK GOD wily wars isnt running at the PAL 10 fps......
Ash has the controller and he chooses mega man? Who would’ve guessed
Amazing!! I guess it has stereo sound. Does it work in old CRTs?
You can get an HDMI to AV converter
I personally can't stand playing retro games on Modern TVs it feels out of place that is why I use a CRT television always
@@superbroly64DS I feel that way too, but I'd like to give it a chance in HD sometimes. What about the stereo sound?
Hype for wiley wars now ill be able to you the save feature (thanks sega channel)
Everyone seems to be making a mini console nowadays.
Can’t wait for the Virtual Boy mini. Now only half the headaches.
You wear it like glasses.
Eternal Champions is what pushed me over the top
This actually looks pretty cool, but the absence of Sonic 3 & Knuckles is still very strange
Can you put Sega Genesis cartridges in there?
I don't believe you can.
I’m a bit concerned: do I hear a slight delay in the sound?
(skipped around the video a bit) I noticed while playing Tetris Ash said "the HDTV lag is really brutal for Tetris". I'm not sure if that was a generalised statement or about the TV they were playing on. I do know that poorly configured TVs are pretty commonplace at these trade shows.
Come on...no ristar, sonic 3 or CD?
still cool tho
No Rister? That's weird.
But Sonic CD, that's because it's a Sega CD game.
I mean... If this does well, who's to say they won't release a Sega CD Mini?
@@mayisaythatsasmashingblous5876 I don't think it will happen. It's not as memorable as the other Sega console and people are eager for Saturn mini.
@@cliffturbo2146
Saturn emulation is still iffy so I doubt it will happen.
@@cliffturbo2146 they still could add it...i mean the game itself could run on a genesis
I'm hype for Mega Man Wily Wars.
*_SEGA SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!_*
Okay, this is epic. I alway get hit by the bee above the special stage post there too lol. Also if you see this, the mini has the original soundtracks right? Cause I have some other like sega reboots and the music is distorted a little
Genesis mini and countless Switch games this year my poor savings goal want be as high this year lol
I'm not familiar with all of the games on the list that the system has to offer but it sure does look like a lot of fun for such a small system.
I might pick one up eventually.
Rename the video “Ash plays Megaman”. Honestly where are the Ash Megaman speedrun livestreams?
when does it release?
Ok, since we got the NES, SNES, Playstation, and now Genesis Classic Minis, Nintendo and Microsoft might as well make a N64 Classic and an Original XBOX Classic. I’m just saying
So does this mean that the theories about Sonic3's music has been confirmed?
Yes. The PC versions of Sonic 3 and S&K had different tracks for some of the zones which proves the theory. It's not even that big of a deal as they can easily be added to the Mini shortly after launch
So is it is it confirmed the European version the games are running in NTSC ???
zemaj0 Yes and Japanese boxes as they are both called Mega Drive!! 😎 SONY made à stupid mistake throwing 9 PAL games with their system!!! 😂
I hope they have unlockable 32x games.
Is it me or does sega never put sonic 3 & knuckles on these collections?
Hold up, they have fighting games on the Genesis mini but only come with 2 three button controllers for $80, WTF Sega
The have 2, only one of them is good which is street fighter 2 and you can play that on literally anything now arcade perfect. That said, if you own a licensed retrobit genesis controller for pc already, or buy the one coming out for 20, you can use it on the mini. Also would like to point out your getting double the games of the SNES, which also charged 80 dollars.
@@hereisnickscott hell no, they have virtual fighter and eternal champion on that Genesis mini so don't make excuses for Sega blunder again and also the SNES classic is perfect
Buy the Retrobit controller.
@@segaunited3855 hell no I'm not buying anything extra when it should came with a 6 button controller, Sega screws up again
@@kengoku1766 Buy the Retrobit Controller. Its $20 and represents how the 6 Button pad was sold until 1994: Separately.
*sees Echo the Dolphin* Hello darkness my old friend...
My biggest issue with Wahwee Wars is that Rock’s sprite is _way_ too big. Not only is he taller than most of the Robot Masters, but he makes Proto look like a midget. It also makes that one Magnet Beam room in Wily 1 a bitch to complete, since his firing height is based on his NES sprite.
Wily Tower helps make up for that, though.
This needed Mortal Kombat 1, and 2. Street Fighter 2 being the reason for the 6 button controller? Nah. Was for Mortal Kombat.
Benji Smith at the time MK1 made sense, but now? Why would you choose those 16bit versions over the arcade roms? I think Street Fighter is close enough, but MK and MK2 were quite the downgrade
Sloppy Toons Because Mortal Kombat played a pivotal role with the Genesis and is one of the main reasons why it sold well and instigated the competition with the SNES.
Isn't full with out sonic 3
Wait for the hacks
