Troubleshooting Android Auto connection issues in your Nissan vehicle can be a bit frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to get it working again. Here's a list of ways users can reconnect to Android Auto:
Check Compatibility: Ensure that your Nissan's infotainment system is compatible with Android Auto. Not all Nissan models support Android Auto, so make sure yours does.
Update Android Auto: Ensure that both your Android Auto app on your phone and your vehicle's infotainment system are running the latest updates. Outdated software can cause compatibility issues.
Use a High-Quality USB Cable: Connect your phone to the vehicle using a high-quality USB cable. A poor-quality cable can result in connection problems. Consider using the cable that came with your phone.
Enable Android Auto: In your vehicle's infotainment system, make sure Android Auto is enabled and set up correctly. This usually involves navigating to the Android Auto settings and following the on-screen instructions.
Enable USB Debugging: On your Android device, go to "Developer Options" in your phone's settings and enable USB debugging. This can help with the connection.
Restart Your Phone: Sometimes, a simple restart of your Android device can resolve connection issues.
Restart Your Vehicle: Turn off your Nissan's engine, wait for a moment, and then restart the vehicle. This can help reset the infotainment system.
Factory Reset Android Auto: In some cases, performing a factory reset of Android Auto can help. Go to your Android Auto settings on your phone, tap on the three dots in the upper-right corner, select "About," and then tap "Reset Head Unit."
Check Permissions: Ensure that Android Auto has the necessary permissions on your phone. Go to your phone's settings, find the "Apps" or "Application Manager," locate Android Auto, and ensure it has all the required permissions enabled.
Clear App Data and Cache: In your phone's settings, under "Apps" or "Application Manager," find Android Auto, and clear both app data and cache. This can resolve any data-related issues.
Check Bluetooth Connectivity: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and your vehicle. Android Auto often uses Bluetooth for initial pairing.
Test with Another Phone: If possible, try connecting another compatible Android device to your Nissan's infotainment system. This will help determine if the issue is with your phone or the vehicle.
Contact Nissan Support: If none of these steps work, contact Nissan's customer support or visit a Nissan dealership. There could be a deeper issue with the infotainment system that needs professional attention.
The better quality cable did the trick for me too. Thanks so much for your help, Christopher!!
Glad it helped!
It was my cable, thank you!!! I used a higher quality cable and now I'm good!!!
lets go blakeeeee!
I was having theis same problem with my ford escape connecting to my pixel 7. I did everything he mentioned.but it srill didn't work. The sync work well with my precious phone and cable. What i did i stead of a factory reset i reset all my apps setting and this fixed the problem.
Also for your information, after I changed the car battery, it no longer worked, and I noticed that the date and time were different after I changed the battery, and when I reset them, Android Auto started again at the same time and the problem was solved 👍
yes unplugging the battery might reset some settings
How you reset ,did you unplugged the battery
Deleting my entire phone for a connection.
Absolutely not.
Thx for all the other info though.

Factory reset on the Nissan did the trick..
Our problem was receiving calls. There would be a quick notification of an incoming call, and then it would disappear. Callers received a message that we were not available.
thanks for watching
Just tried your recommendation and it worked! Kudos.
Glad it helped!
Resetting the nissan menu worked for me, thanks

I have a 2023 Nissan Sentra and haven't fully comprehended what is going on with Android Auto (AA). I have Spotify on my Android Smartphone and like to listen to music from my playlists. When I plug the phone into my USB port, it usually works fine - then suddenly will stop or flicker on and off. I then discovered the Bluetooth connection worked wirelessly without any noticeable reduction in sound quality. I've had the car for a year and still fumbling with the infotainment panel when navigating from one application to another. I use Maps a lot, but while Spotify is playing, I cannot figure out how to pull up the Maps app without interruption. Your feedback is welcome. Thank you for this great video.
glad we could help if all your doing is spotify you dont really need the android auto you can just use the bluetooth audi
@@carsunlocked well i might do more if I could figure out what I'm doing. LOL! Appreciate your reply! Thank you!
Thank you this fixed my issue. I have the Motorola Android Auto wireless dongle and it broke itself and the Nissan's wired Android Auto. Resetting the car fixed it right up.
glad we could help
@@carsunlocked actually you really, really helped out because I use it for my work. I do DoorDash.
Just came across this video. I have a 2019 nissan sentra and AA was working fine up until i got a new phone. Did everything i should with connecting new phone to the car but all i get is a black screen when connecting via USB to AA. Not sure whats hoing on but it worked fine with my previous phone. Was using a moto G stylus 5G phone and now using a samsung galaxy A15 5G phone
sorry i wish I my tips in the video could help you
LOL ! "How Dare You". Epic. 😃
Just watched this and previous videos, and I had to reset my car. I think I'll look at another cable too, but this is annoying.

Just a Nissan issue my 2 Toyotas DodgeRam 1500 all work fine
Does there ever seem to be a problem on the nissan receiving end?? I got the new cable, did all the resets and my phone will charge but it absolutely will not connect to android auto. Even the little triangle icon is gone when i go to the connection tab. Had the car for 3 years no real issues until today..
perhaps your usb input in your car is damage?
So do you need to have the cable connected all the time for use? Thanks
Have a 2022 Nissan SL Warrior .

Is my 2019 Nissan Armada SV compatible?

@@carsunlocked Thank you very much for your reply. Not what I wanted to hear, LoL, but it does answer my questions. I hate that so many cars are iPhone programmed. Like only kids and old ladies drive (LoL). Thank you again and God bless.

I have just bought a 2017 nissan Micra 1.5 dci and everywhere i look online all say it should have it. However when i look in my cars apps its not there, it just has some junk apps like travel and Google but when i click on them it says please connect a android phone via Bluetooth and here's the kicker my phone is connected.
no it would not have it
2023 Nissan Rogue and Samsung S22. I have done everything suggested, but when I try to use quick links to map to a location on my phone, I get an error saying that Google Maps cannot be used while Android Auto is connected. I have to unplug my phone, hit the quick map link, then reconnect before it will navigate me
I would try to uninstall both apps and reinstall
Legend! Damn cheap cables 😂
Glad we could help

I have a 2024 nissan versa that I just got and I previously had a 2023 nissan versa. When I plug in my pixel 7 I get the message "check device. MTP not supported." I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Android auto, resetting the car to factory settings, and changing the cords but it will not connect to the new car. I had no issues connecting to the 2023 though.
you need to swipe down from the top of your phone and change your usb settings to file transfer immediately after you plug it in

I have a 2021 Nissan Kicks and my AA connected once and then hasn't connected ever since. It only charges. I don't even make it to the screen prompt on the infotainment.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the AA app and tried, nothing. Factory reset my Nissan. still nothing. On the AA screen, even when plugged in, it says to connect to USB.
Please help.

2019 Rogue Sport and Google Pixel 7 Pro. Two weeks ago Android Auto just stopped working. I tried a different cable. Nothing. Ordered a new cable from Google. Nothing. I uninstalled the app updates on my phone and reinstalled them. (Android Auto doesn't completely uninstall.) Nothing. I'll try resetting the car system and see if that works. Why would it suddenly stop working?
perhaps your usb input on your phone is damaged?
Is there a way to check it?@@carsunlocked

Anyone else having a problem where it says that the time on the vehicle needs to be close to your phones time, and it is the same time, yet keeps saying that over and over? Set my nissan to the right time and now it keeps saying the time is wrong. Set it back to the wrong time that it was at, still wrong lol. Can't even use android auto now that all i did was correct the time on my frontier
I would just factory reset your screen
@@carsunlocked yeah... tried that. Didn't work 😭. Might have to take it down? Or we'll see if clearing up my cache helped, the next time I get in the truck
@carsunlocked ok... think that reset did work, but after the reset, I changed the calander format. So, thank you! Did work, haha. Was weird how it was all that correct right before the reset, including the date and making sure the time was on PM, It was still doing that error. But boom... did work, the date just had to be changed AFTER i did the whole reset. Thanks!
