- Classic video from years ago including some key Lotus people and enthusiasts, who are still there to this day serving well owners and people of Lotus Cars; A young Miles Wilkins & Barry Ely none the less. At the end the new project, 'The Elise'. Enjoy !!!
Lotus is part of automotive folklore and should be appreciated by any car enthusiast. They very often beat the Italians at their own game. I have a Turbo Esprit('87) and there isnt anythng like it.
I have a 1967 Elan Coup'e SE and have owed it since 1977, in 1984 I aquired a pair if BRM cams. I'm now 63 years old and not a 23 year old spring chicken anymore. I do remember the wheel spinning torque of the stocker cams and don't need to rev. to insanity anymore, so I'm going to stock again! I was at Sebring in 62 and saw the new Elans whomp Porsche, at that time I told myself when old enough, I was going to have one! At 23, I did, and if I can, I'll be buried in it, unless I will it to a deserving relative. One who can do a clutch in 40 minutes like I used to. Not anymore though, but I'd rather be a has been then a never was any day! Cheers, Rol.
I think this video is fabulous and believe the new Emira is doing something very similar in the ethos of this Lotus philosophy, I am ignoring the EV argument as I believe 90% of people are just blindly following others and I don’t believe it is the future of the vehicle industry. My Emira is on order. 😊
Bloody brilliant , British kick arse. Sticking it to the Germans and Italians super cars by a small British company.
ah the elise was never bettered :)
The Elite, Elan and Europa is ugly cars. The Esprit is beautiful!
That guy needs to learn what the word "chassis" means.... OF COURSE it has a chassis, just like MY '62 does. In this case it is known as a "backbone chassis"
