Well you certainly got though your target and went past 31 jigsaws. 👍 Whether you get any joy from puzzle companies regarding missing pieces tends to be hit and miss. I've had missing pieces in new jigsaws before. One company had a rather over the top method of reporting missing pieces, so I didn't bother. Another company gave me the refund but no replacement of the jigsaw. Lastly from the third one I received profuse apologies and a replacement jigsaw of my choice, to the same value. I haven't forgotten the day I had a brand new puzzle from this company and this is what it contained:- 980 pieces, 7 outside doubles, 4 outside missing, 45 inside doubles, 70 inside missing and 2 stray pieces. I kept laughing every time I found the doubles. 🤣

The Road Crates Pee Wee Herman puzzle was exclusively made for San Diego Comic Con a few years back. We also had the option to get a mini poster of the puzzle autographed by Paul Reuben. I got the autographed version. I believe they were $55-75 depending on the option you picked and were never sold in a store. Good find!

Hi there! Love all your questions. I started puzzling around the age of 9 when my mother gave me a puzzle to put together. I loved it. Back then, my mom would give me Springbok puzzles on special occasions, or when I was sick and home from school. Once I started working at 15, I started buying my own Springbok puzzles (I worked next door to a Hallmark shop at the time). I ended up with around 200 Springbok puzzles at one point. Unfortunately, my mom got rid of them once I moved out of the house (sob!). I tend not to do very many puzzles over again, but it does happen, especially the holiday puzzles that I really love. I have donated a TON of puzzles to Goodwill over the years, and just recently, I have started selling some on Facebook Marketplace. As far as speed puzzling goes, I haven't tried it. Sooo many gorgeous puzzles! I’ve not seen any of these before nor have I heard of some of the companies. My pet peeve is thin and CURVED (!) 😡pieces otherwise I don’t care about what kind of box it was in as long as it wasn’t crushed or falling apart. If I did 30+ puzzles in a month I wouldn’t have time to eat, shower or feed the cat! Fun video. Thank you.
Hi there! Oh boy do I hate thin pieces!! I've not had any curved pieces before - plenty of bent ones though. I am a *stickler* about the boxes - they have to be pristine or I am miffed! And when I was putting all those puzzles together during my 31-day challenge I'm not too sure a lot of showering was going on! I did manage to eat and if I don't feed my cats at the designated feeding times they make my life a living hell - so no way were they not getting fed. Thanks so much for watching and your comments! :0)
Hi Shannon, I recently discovered your Persnickety Puzzler UA-cam channel and LOVE your videos that I'm now happily binge watching to catch up :-) About a puzzle in this video that you purchased on eBay stated to be New with no photos of the sides/back of the puzzle box and that puzzle box arrived with damaged sides/back: eBay requires an item described as New to be: "A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item" (as stated in "Item specifics" in eBay listings). So when I've purchased a puzzle from an eBay seller who described the puzzle to be New but it arrived with a damaged puzzle box or damaged (and/or missing) puzzle piece(s), first I've contacted the eBay seller and if not provided a complete refund then I've contacted eBay to receive a complete refund due to the item was "not as described" in that eBay listing. And if that eBay seller requires the damaged item to be returned, then the eBay seller must provide a prepaid return shipping label. Happy puzzling!
Hi Jude! Love your name. Thanks a bunch for watching my channel!! I appreciate your tips regarding the puzzle I bought on eBay. Next time that happens I will take your advice and report the purchase to the seller and eBay. It happened a while ago so I'm not as miffed as I was when I made the video. Appreciate you watching and commenting, and I hope you subscribed! :0)
Hi Shannon! Just a quick note, "maneki" (lucky cat) is pronounced "mah-neh-kee"! In Japanese, the "e" symbol is pronounced "eh", the "a" symbol is pronounced "ah", and the "i" symbol is pronounced "ee." "Kokeshi" ("koh-keh-shee") means wooden doll! I'm a sucker for anything with cats and bright or pastel colors, so that one and the Cat-inskey puzzle have been tempting me since your last video 😊 (Edit: all right, you sold me on Puzzler's Paradise, I bought it for myself as a reward for getting accepted into my college of choice this week! Can't wait to get started 😊)
Hi Octodaddy! Thanks for helping me with my pronunciation! I'm a sucker for cat puzzles myself and that Catinsky puzzle is wonderful. I am also a sucker for puzzles about puzzles, and that Puzzler's Paradise puzzle has one of the cutest puzzles about puzzles images out there! Congrats on getting accepted to the college of your choice! Thanks for your comments and for watching! :0)
🎩 Hats off to you not only for shying away from the challenge but for the variety of interesting puzzles (wink, wink😅) - I love it! You really had some really nice ones that caught my interest. Great job on the overview🧩👍 By the way, your sweater is very cute and looks good on you.
Wow! Great accomplishment. Fabulous puzzles. I have done several and have several in my to do stash. I am with you on Puzzle Warehouse, too many great puzzle retailers out there right now. PW has lost the magic from times past. Not just in service, but their puzzle brand selection has gotten a little stale compared to some of the other online retailers.
Totally agree with you in regards to Puzzle Warehouse. They used to be the BEST place to shop but no more. And don’t even get me started on their packaging! Thanks for your comments! :0)
Hi there! I would like to do a video of my favorite puzzles of the year before the end of the year so stay tuned for that! Thanks for your comment! :0)
First, thank you so much for what I have learned from you, and for all that you do for us. I have a question. I'm very picky when choosing my puzzles, and I have been looking at the Ravensburger brand, trying to fine a high quality brand. what I'm finding, as far as I can see on line, is that all the pieces are square with no odd or various sizes or shapes. is this true as I have never owned one, and is that what they call "ribbon cut"?. I'm very stuck on the various size and shape pieces. Please educate me, Thank you
Hi Craig! Sounds like you are a tad bit persnickety like me! Ravensburger is definitely a high-quality brand. It sounds like the Ravensburger puzzle you have is a ribbon or grid cut puzzle. They also have random cut puzzles as well. And if you ever assemble wooden puzzles, they usually have really crazy random cuts and include whimsies, which are special pieces that reflect the "theme" of the puzzle. I love all puzzle cuts but would have to say that I prefer random cut puzzles. Do you know what piece shapes you prefer? If so, you can try to purchase the brands that specialize in that particular cut of puzzle. Hope this helps. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! :0)
How do I tell if I'm purchasing a grid or random cut when I'm looking on line, most brands don't seem to give us much information about the puzzles cut? @@persnicketypuzzler
Also maybe with your knowledge you could suggest a few random cut brands that hold a little quality. The best piece cut I have found is with the "Bits and Pieces" brand, but there fit is a little loose and there glossy glare is hard to deal with.
@@craigjohnson481 You are absolutely right about struggling to figure out the cuts that brands manufacture. Some of them, like Cloudberries, let you know, but the vast majority of them don't. If I am not sure about the cut, I typically go to a Facebook group like Jigsaw Puzzlers, or Jigsaw Puzzle Lovers and ask. I am also a member of the r/jigsawpuzzles group on Reddit. All of these groups have thousands of jigsaw puzzle lovers as members, and someone will know the answer to your question. Sometimes I write to the company and ask. Hope this helps.
@@craigjohnson481 Cloudberries, Ravensburger, and Paperblanks are three quality brands that manufacture random cut puzzles. Just make sure the puzzle you are buying is a random cut puzzle. You can ask the company or ask in a Facebook puzzle group to be sure. You should also know that random cut puzzles typically cost more than grid cut puzzles. And pretty much every wooden puzzle manufacturer makes their puzzles in a random cut, but they cost a LOT more money than grid cut cardboard puzzles. I'm really picky about my puzzles, and I am not a big fan of the Bits and Pieces brand. Their aesthetic is not mine and their quality is just not good enough for me. There are a LOT better brands out there. Other puzzlers may not agree with me but that's how I feel.
I totally agree! SunsOut is cheap quality, and I even butchered their boxes to the size of the image, glued all the info around to the sides of the box. It took me forever, but I loved the build of that image, and plan to do it again someday. Now the box is small, yay. Staying away from that brand... Heye, too...love their images, but despise their huge boxes and their triangular ones. CobbleHill piece size vs. count...you are nit alone. I like the 500 and the 1000 to be the same size, even if the 500 has a smaller completed image. Again, Pomegranate is outstanding, I agree!
Hi BettyC! Looks like we are two peas in a pod when it comes to puzzles! I *HATE* cheap boxes! Why do some puzzle companies cheap out on their boxes?? Drives me INSANE! The only brand whose boxes I do not love but whose puzzles I adore is the Heye brand. They are a Top Five brand for me due to their HUGE catalog and selection of images. Their rectangular boxes are not bad - just a little too big. Their triangular boxes are IMPOSSIBLE - but I forgive them for those. I love their cartoon puzzles too much to hold it against them. Thanks a bunch for your comments and for watching! :0)

Great video! I'm curious, were the pieces on the Trevell puzzle really small? I just did a 1500 pc of theirs and the pieces were very small. They don't put measurements on their boxed either ...
Hi Suzie! The puzzle pieces were a normal size for a 1000-piece puzzle. I had no idea that Trevell made 1500-piece puzzles, much less that the pieces were smaller! Did you enjoy the puzzle? Details please. :0)
@persnicketypuzzler Hi! I can't post pics here, but I got it from Rosewillie and it comes in 1000 and 1500 pieces. Its called Bureau of Curiosities. Let me know what you think, I enjoyed it and it was beautiful, but the only one I've done but Trevell so I was surprised by the piece size, lol 😆
@@Suzie.G. Yes, that is odd about the piece size. I've never heard of a puzzle company reducing the size of the pieces over the 1000-piece count. As long as they aren't too small, I guess I'm OK with it. I actually prefer the smaller pieces to the larger ones. I looked on RoseWillie and found the puzzle you are talking about. It's on my Wish List now. Sigh.... so many puzzles, so little time. :0)

I think the Cat wants out
Hi Shannon,
I recently discovered your Persnickety Puzzler UA-cam channel and LOVE your videos that I'm now happily binge watching to catch up :-)
About a puzzle in this video that you purchased on eBay stated to be New with no photos of the sides/back of the puzzle box and that puzzle box arrived with damaged sides/back: eBay requires an item described as New to be: "A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item" (as stated in "Item specifics" in eBay listings).
39 WOW! Well done you 🎉 puzzling maniac - love it 🤣
Hi there! Yep, I am a certified puzzle maniac!! Too bad I don't get a medal to go with it! Thanks for your comments! :0)
🎩 Hats off to you not only for shying away from the challenge but for the variety of interesting puzzles (wink, wink😅) - I love it! You really had some really nice ones that caught my interest. Great job on the overview🧩👍 By the way, your sweater is very cute and looks good on you.
Hi Dee!! Glad to hear that you liked some of the bands I featured! And thanks for the sweater compliment. Stay tuned for more videos to come! :0)
I really want to know your top 10 puzzles in this year, would you plan to do such a summary before end of this year❤❤❤?
Hi there! I would like to do a video of my favorite puzzles of the year before the end of the year so stay tuned for that! Thanks for your comment! :0)
I know nothing about Road Crates brand of puzzles but I do see that Barnes & Noble online carries some of them.
Hi Maggie!! Thank you sooo much for telling me you found Road Crates on Barnes & Noble! I appreciate you letting me know.
@@persnicketypuzzler We ARE 'persnickety' when it comes to puzzle boxes (and more), aren't we🤭?!
@@bettyc.6280 Yes we are!!
Wow you are fast. How do you have time for anything else? Wow that is cool.
Hi there! When I was doing this challenge, I didn't have time for *anything* else! But I loved every minute of it! Thanks for watching and commenting! :0)
Does Heye not have a piece replacement? Most big brands are fab if you email them.
Yes, it turns out that they do - and I just got a new bag of puzzle pieces from them! Yippie!
@@persnicketypuzzlerperfection!!!
@persnicketypuzzler Have you done any Bluebird puzzles? Oddly enough, they used to do small 1500 count ones and Magnolias 1500 pc puzzles are small. Don't ask me why, lol
@@Suzie.G. I have not done any Bluebird puzzles as of yet. I will in the future. And I've only done 1000-piece Magnolia puzzles. I *love* Magnolia so I am going to have to do a 1500-piece one of theirs. Thanks for the info! :0)
I am also not a fan of Puzzle Warehouse anymore, I like Rosewilly as well and also adore Puzzle Canada
Hi Melissa! It’s really sad that Puzzle Warehouse has kind of gone downhill. I LOVE Rosewillie but have not tried Puzzles Canada yet. But fear not - I will! Thanks for your comments! :0)
I did two 500 piece the other day. I'm trying to get through my Christmas puzzle. I have over 40 I think.
Hi Tiffany! I prefer 1000-piece puzzles, but the 500-piece puzzles are fun because you can put them together quickly. I LOVE Christmas puzzles - sounds like you do too if you have over 40. Thanks for watching and for your comments! :0)
@persnicketypuzzler Yes, I love all puzzles. Christmas 🎄 if my Favorite holiday. I have a Christmas Puzzles Playlist. I'm going to do every Christmas puzzle I can find. I'm up to 29 Christmas Puzzles Videos and I plan on Making 3 more today. Here the Playlist if your Interested.

Hi Shannon, I am glad to see you reached your puzzle goal. I know you don’t need another puzzle but I can’t help sharing with you that Galison has a 1000 pieces puzzle called “The Perfect Peace”. It is a play on words, they mean “piece”. It is a puzzle about 2 women doing a puzzle on the coffee table in a living room. It is a drawing, colorful and pop art style. I think that is one you want to check out for puzzles about puzzles to add to your collection 😃🧩
Hi Laura!! You are doing an *outstanding* job letting me know about puzzles to add to my puzzles about puzzles collection!!! I've added this one to my Wish List. Thanks so much for letting me know! :0)
