Welcome to the worlds of Band Maid and The Warning. Both great female rock bands. I expect the Band Madiacs will be along soon.
The Warning Army welcomes you to what we believe is the future of rock & roll - The Warning - Three sisters from Monterey Mexico who started playing together when they were children and who have now been making great hard music for more than a decade. With four studio albums, several live concert videos, we think there is plenty of material for you to choose from. They were independent for the first two albums (Kickstarter and crowd-funded), but are now signed to Lava/Republic records.
This three-piece is:
Daniela (Dany, 24yo, guitar)
Paulina (Pau, as in POW-er, 22yo, drums)
Alejandra (Ale, pronounced AH-lay, 19yo, bass)
All three sisters sing, and all are classically trained on piano.
The Warning have a sound that is both new and familiar. It is certainly hard rock, but clearly influenced by their love of classic rock, metal, punk, K-pop, indie, grunge, funk, and many other genres including classical music. But they have taken those influences and forged a sound that is uniquely their own, and you know that it is them. At the same time simple and complex.
What does it sound like to me? Refreshing. A sound that has caught my ear and made me interested in rock again after 25+ years of the same old playlist. While together their combined ages are about the same as many of us fans, their musical maturity is exceptionally high.

There are really no bad choices. They are something special live-I think it is their super power. Their energy, charisma, and musicality really shine when in front of an audience. In the past two years I have flown all over North America and Mexico, and just got home from three shows in the UK and Ireland (they were in Dublin a couple weeks ago). Can’t wait for the chance to travel and see them again. The only other band I have traveled for like this in more than 45 years of concert going was Rush.

It is a plus that I can do some Spanish music too (as I am Spanish). Funny that they have just been in Dublin... got to know them after, those things happen.
When you tell me that their live performances are great, it makes me want to check them out even more. There is something special about live, at least to me, and I also love listening and seeing the audience enjoying.

Your assessments of who is in which band were spot on. Yes, Band-Maid wears maid outfits, and the Warning are the three who do not. And yes, the lead singer for The Warning is Dany, the blonde who plays guitar, and the lead singer for Band-Maid is Saiki. I liked your perceptiveness, and you got my sub! If you'd like a bit more BAND-MAID, some options include live performances like "HATE?" LIVE or "Real Existence" LIVE. I've attended them live, and they sound just like in those videos. One of the greatest live bands on Earth. Some find music video exposure would include "Choose Me" or "Blooming".
"Show Them" is a song that's about halfway between BAND-MAID's sound and that of The Warning. You'll enjoy reaching in both directions! BAND-MAID tends towards the harder and faster, and layered instrumental sound. Though they have some gentler songs, too. The Warning go a little slower, but have a heavier, more straightforward sound, as trio---yet with great hooks and sonic creativity. The bands, obviously, are mutual admirers.
The Warning sing in English (and sometimes in their native Spanish), so they are and will remain the bigger name in the English speaking world. BAND-MAID are very big, but not huge, in Japan, with a loyal international following, too.
BAND-MAID's music is more diverse in sound, but The Warning are the much younger group, and they will grow and develop. The Warning are far, far ahead of almost any other major band, at their age. They are getting attention they deserve this year, with a breakout album.
Oh... and by the way, Andrea, I dare you to try a music video of another band I'll be seeing live, next month. Try "Be the GAL," "Otaku Lovely Densetsu", or "We Love Sweets" by HANABIE. (Hah-Nah-Bee-Ey) And, try them blind!

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.
