      $5 for rabbit isn't a huge bargain considering we get ones 1/2 as big again in Australia for about $8. Due to the British bringing rabbits to Australia for hunting sport, we have a HUGE amount here to the point we could literally herd them into nets straight out of our fields in the 1930s and even the late 50s. My grandfather used to do it and I think my father can remember 1 or 2 in the late 50s. My cat catches them and struggles to bring them in thru the cat flap and eats them later. The BEST way to eat them is to fry them. It's like high class fried chicken. On occasion I catch one by hand or hit one with a car and eat it. You can butcher them with a steak knife.

    • @OffGridInvestor
      @OffGridInvestor Рік тому

      Btw you WANT THEM to overcook meat there. The parasite problems and cleanliness issues REQUIRE it unless you want to get seriously ill. You DON'T want to boil rabbit because it has out of control gelatin levels. It's edible but the gelatin is crazy and it's nicer to fry or grill.

      Actually, it's a small clique of individuals who hoarded riches from plundering minerals from the neighboring DR Congo and by embezzling public funds from international aid.
      Now France is using the Rwandan army to protect French corporations settlements that are stealing resources in Africa.

To the best of my ability, I heard "ibyo bintu by'abazungu zungu" which should lead to believe that she was rather refering to your camera as most african rural areas cameras are usually associated with things that white people would carry.

    Nice video. I love seeing how other people live across the world. Rabbit is a common meat among hunters in North America. Used to buy it in corner stores but haven't seen it lately. I wonder how well that knife sharpening thing works. We have knife steels (steel rods used more to keep an edge than to sharpen, but I prefer the ceramic rods) but typically use files to sharpen machetes. Never seen a knife before sharpened on the back of a machete. I like my steak soft, but I over cook my pork from fear of stomach bugs.

      I'm from Scandinavia and we tend to cook well done at home, or medium, I sometimes eat medium-rare (no blood, just a bit pink in the middle) beef at restaurants. I have never been sick though. Also, I never tried rabbit but I think it'd be nice 😄

      That's not relevant. Rwandan villagers get most of their nutrition from beans, bananas, potatoes and milk. The rabbits are a rare treat, not a staple in their diets.
