Imagine how much better TS4 might have been had all this competition come out sooner 🤣
That said Grant being a part of this doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.
This is not a popular opinion. I was glad to see Grant go. I think he made to many bad design decisions that impaired the long-term playability of the game. He also reacted badly when questioned about these decisions. He was rude and made it clear on numerous occasions that he did not care about the needs and wants of the people who actually played the sims.
I'm still blown by that time he tried to say you're a bad dog owner for having a dog house 🤣
That’s a VERY popular opinion 😅
I have never been a fan of Grant - ever since he became more prominent during TS3 days, and my feeling was that his arrogance rose along with his prominence. Personally, when I heard he left Project Renee some time ago, my first thought was: good; it has a better chance of being a better game now.
Not a huge fan of Grant as he's more an rpg guy then a lifeSim guy. Also its way too soon to get excited about a game that may not come out for litteral years. They've barely started development. They may come up with something super cool, but I'll worry about it when it ACTUALLY exist.
@TheDawnofVanlife - I agree with you on all points.
Oof. Poor team on that project…. As long as he can’t touch Paralives though. I’m looking forward to that game too much for him to ruin it
Agreed, Paralives is the life sim I have the most faith in. Much rather have Grant do his own thing
Wow even some of the devs have had enough of the sims 4, well good luck to him :)
Kudos to the Devs who are leaving The Sims 4, because how bad the state Sims 4 is currently in.
Yeah it says a lot that he went to another life sim when he had the opportunity to try something else lol
i think the thing that sucks about this situation to me personally is knowing how much insider info grant has, and knowing it will never be shared with us. i mean on one hand i get it, if grant suddenly started exposing ea and maxis for their business practices and started spilling all of the tea to us simmers, it would paint a giant red flag on his back and no future studios would wanna have a guy work for them if they think hes gonna spill their secrets and insider stuff, he would be committing career suicune and i get it. but at the same time its so frustrating to know that someone like him has answers to so many questions us simmers have had forever, like why maxis does things this way or that way, or why certain decisions were made or not made. grant would have answers to so much of that, and i feel like its info that us gamers and simmers could really benefit from knowing and it would help us make better informed decisions about the companies we support. but i get it, with NDA's and other stuff, theres no way hes ever gonna spill the beans while he's still in the industry. it sucks, but i get it.
Well I like to play on console, so I’m sure I won’t be playing any of these news simulation games, as I’m sure majority if not all will cater to computers. I know Project Rene will be on console though..
Ive heard about this. Im interested but obviously need to see something first. I have high hopes but low expectations for any new life sim.
...Oh god. IIRC John Solomon mentioned The Sims in an interview a year or two back. I thought he was using it as an example of what games could do if they branched out into under-explored genres, not... A statement of intent about doing a Life Sim.
I don't know what to expect from this new life simulator, but I can imagine that with all of these simulator games coming out, E. A. will really need to up their game in terms of coming out with great DLC that's not riddled with too many bugs.
The concept interests me as I recently stated elsewhere that I think a life sim done in the style of something like Life Is Strange would be incredible...wondering what they mean exactly with the talk of "telling stories." Either way, he's not the coolest dude and this won't be out for yearrrs so.. meh.
I think the reason he left is more about the fact that the internal company put a lot of barriers in place for the development team. This could build a lot of frustration when you know what your audience wants and the company is going in the opposite direction. Honestly who leaves after working on something so long because you happy doing what you love?
We’re learning that it’s a really big lift to create a life sim though… We’d be lucky to even have one life sim released in 2025
I see there is some drama that we don't know about. EA better watch out. There's so many upcoming life simulations that challenge thr sits franchise
Do you think there's uncanny cameos of Sims? like "Hey! Belle,"👋.
They can’t do that since it’d be copyright infringement. And I doubt The Sims would do an official crossover
people need to understand it isn't how many players "played" the game but rather how many players "still play" in over the course of months or years. Deep Metadata is more important to companies for insight but they love sugarcoating their flaws or busts publically
Imagine Grant joins the LBY or Paralives team. Help the competition 😂
Keep Grant as far away from Paralives as humanly possible.
Let me guess, you just heard about Life by You? Life by You looks quite nice and I hope to check it out at some point.
…? I’ve done videos on Life By You before. But I’ve lost interest in it and yet another delay doesn’t inspire confidence either. This video is (mostly) about another game
@@IronSeagull Oof, I must have missed them, life's been kinda busy on my end, sorry man. I'll try check them out soon if possible.
@@stuartvandermerwe8548 , you didn't "miss" them. You made a wrong assumption.
