I enjoy watching the kettle player at 7:50 as she plays the walking bass line for SSS. I was trying to figure out what she was doing walking back and forth twice to the drummer station, then I realized she was hitting the remote control button to enable the band's flashing LED sign! Crazy!
Once again, the amazing Back Line of the K. Tachibana SHS Band displaying their skills (plural), and the sheer enjoyment they get from performing, as seen by their faces, upon which are the largest and brightest smiles in the whole band. Tachibana SHS Marching Band is definitely world class, and in my opinion, Tachibana is the best in the world.
Penguin-san is so cute. And looking at all the freshmen already performing with such smiles and joy warm my heart. Seniors and Juniors are doing such a fine job passing the Tachibana fire to the next generation.
Does anyone have any info on how Penguin-chan is doing... still in HS, or moved on to a university or....???? I sure we all know about Tippi, but how is Penguin doing?

The percussion is incredible. They all know how to do everything. They alternate continuously. Nice girl who at 8:38 am while the gong is playing runs towards the drummer to turn on the "T" led by Tachibana and then make the final with the gong. She then played many percussions.
Yes, percussion have to know how to play everything. I began in a high school band (we were not as good as Tachibana, but we were innovative). I played snare, base, conga and tympani. I loved the variety and it was such fun playing drums. I went on to drum and bugle in the Air Force, marching/concert band in the Army where again I got to play many instruments, and now electronic set, djembe and cajon at church. In high school only the drummers memorized their music, or just made it up in a parade. In concerts we had music in front of us. Once with the army the entire drum section forgot our music for a concert. So we played the entire concert from memory and I followed the music of the trumpets which were in front of us. Penquin is also my adopted granddaughter. I hope she doing OK in college. My real granddaughter also started college this year.

That´s how you do it - to repeat what a Spanish American yelled out at the 2018 Rose Parade. One of their classic performances, although this angle does not show or hear much of the main body (plenty of vids for that) you still feel the life, power and enjoyment that this band projects. Nowadays, 2022 almost 2023, the music seems to be taking a different direction - toned down, slowed down even, and although exceptionally well played, it seems to lack the spark that always put KT over any other band. Such is progress.
I really liked this perspective in emphasizing the percussion. Most focus only on the band. The percussion is in second or third plane. I loved this new focus. The girls of the percussion are fantastic. Thanks for the video editing. For me, Kyoto Tachibana is unsurpassed in the whole. Congratulations!
I love to watch this band almost everyday on youtube... I've seen them twice at the Rose parade. I missed the 2018 .... You, like many of us, have KT Fever, to which unfortunately there is no cure, have probably gone down the rabbit hole and spent hours upon hours watching and reading comments on other KT vids. Gaining a wealth of information. 😂😂😂 Some additional information for those who are new to KT. "R", nicknamed "Penguin" Chan by the KT fans, graduated in March, 2020, as part of class 116. The other 116 Percussionist/Oboist, "M", spent part of her 2nd year and most of her 3rd year performing with the CG. Penguin Chan, as a Freshman, and Chippi, class 114 as a Senior, were in the band together during the 2017 season. Often marching side by side with Chippi on the Xylophone and P-Chan on the Glockenspiel. In this particular performance the Senior class was 115, lead by DM "O". The 115 percussionists were often referred by fans as "the twins". With "T", the Senpai lead, on the drum set and her "twin", "S", moving around on different instruments. TACHIBANA TENSION!!! 💛🧡🖤🧡💛

@@jays2573 Thank you for the good wishes for my granddaughter. She does not play drums but she is very special. I too have found a new friend, one who likes Penguin as much as I do. I found another video that centers on Penquin playing the Timbales during "Sing Sing Sing". Another viewer says she was percussion section leader in her senior year. That is something else she and I have in common. I too, was drum section leader in my senior year in high school. And Gene Krupa, who originally played drums on "Sing Sing Sing" with Benny Goodman was one of my two favorite drummers. A lot of what I do copies his work. But I don't drink like he did. Too bad Tachibana's drum solo on the song is so different than his. It is still good, but different.

Definitely going to miss the two senior percussionist which I've seen them getting matured on this club, especially the girl always playing the tenor drum, I though she will not last until her senior years, she was skinny during her 1st year. Gladly she make it through. We still have two more juniors (senior next year) on this section, including the "cute" little percussionist, the rest are 1st year. To the entire "KT" members, Thanks for the hard work and job well done!
Tachibana percussion always, ALWAYS are the best part of the band, enthusiasm above and beyond. Just amazing. The rest of the band ain't nothin' to sneeze at either.
Hi just me I'm watching the band again I've been watching them day after day I had a touch of pneumonia in the energy they put out help me a lot I love them you know that right now I'm watching the girls on the drums and that little one that's on the big round ones she's she's something else and she rings at big dong thing and she stops it with her body wow she a curty. Like the rest of the Band, I like the spirit, smiles and enthusiasm showed by the percussionists. They add so much energy to the music and tempo of their performances.

橘はパーカッションのセクションが素晴らしいです。 これらの女の子ロック！ とても楽しそれができていました。
マーチングバンドは歴史的に勇ましくいかめしくあるべきみたいな伝統があるのだと思いますが、一般人はそんなバンドを見たいわけではありません。奏者一人ひとりが楽しそうにうれしそうに音楽を奏でている京都橘。そんなところに人々は魅了されるんですよね。
のーらんのーらん様 コメントありがとうございます。 オレンジの悪魔の動画を見始めたころ、2012年のローズパレードのTV画像でフルート隊の生徒さんの大きく手を振っての笑顔を思い出されます。TV番組（笑ってコラえて）でのこのみちゃんの涙涙を見ていたので、「あーこのみちゃんだー」と感動していました。楽しさ全開の笑顔でした。
以前から打楽器隊の皆さんの縦ノリがカッコイイなぁって思っていましたので、とても楽しく拝見させて頂きました。まさに「壮観」ですね！！

視覚的に楽しむ二つの要素が有ると思いますが、
それらの視覚的な要素が
動画には写ってませんが
フラッグ隊とか、パーカッション隊の単なるリズムを
作るだけでなく、心から楽しんでリズムを取る姿だと
思いますから、単に楽器を叩く一見単純な作業も
実際にはかなり重要な要素を担ってると思いますよね
何事も無かったよう(1:00あたりから)ティンパから、ボンゴに移り、曲が始まるとノリノリのペンギンちゃん、素晴らしいですね。もちろん、その後の演奏やドラの、身体ミュート感動です。

最近知ったのは世界で一番難しい金管楽器としてギネスにのっているのはホルンなんですね。

フルートに至ってはこんなに激しいステップ踏みながら激しく上下に降りながらでも、アンブシュアが崩れないのは未だに未知の世界です。

@@jays2573 Thank you for the good wishes for my granddaughter. She does not play drums but she is very special. I too have found a new friend, one who likes Penguin as much as I do. I found another video that centers on Penquin playing the Timbales during "Sing Sing Sing". Another viewer says she was percussion section leader in her senior year. That is something else she and I have in common. I too, was drum section leader in my senior year in high school. And Gene Krupa, who originally played drums on "Sing Sing Sing" with Benny Goodman was one of my two favorite drummers. A lot of what I do copies his work. But I don't drink like he did. Too bad Tachibana's drum solo on the song is so different than his. It is still good, but different.

パーカス隊の縦のりは「木琴ちゃん」以前と「木琴ちゃん」以後で随分と違う感じを受けます。ペンギンちゃんが一人で縦のりを引き継いで、やがてパーカス隊全体に継承されたのでは無いかと思っています。ペンギンちゃんは１年生でローズパレードに木琴ちゃんの隣で参加していて、木琴ちゃんの愛弟子と言える存在だと思います。卒業後もさくらパレードなどに木琴ちゃんはＫＯＭＡＲＥさんと一緒に、ペンギンちゃんの応援に来て、声を掛けていました。大切な弟子を見守っている師の様に。橘ＳＨＳに素晴らしい伝統と教育が続く事を祈り応援します。

Definitely going to miss the two senior percussionist which I've seen them getting matured on this club, especially the girl always playing the tenor drum, I though she will not last until her senior years, she was skinny during her 1st year. Gladly she make it through. We still have two more juniors (senior next year) on this section, including the "cute" little percussionist, the rest are 1st year. To the entire "KT" members, Thanks for the hard work and job well done!

KTTK様 ペンギンちゃんどこ行くのと思っていましたがビデオを見返してて気が付きました。銅鑼のジャジャジャン+ジャン+ジャンが聞けなく残念でしたがペンギンちゃん見てて、ま・いっかですね。4人の1年生が加わって楽しさもパワーアップしたパーカス隊いーですよね。
KTTK様 1年生の人数を間違えました。このメンバーには5人ですね。バスドラの2年生はこのマーチングではカラーガード兼務でこの動画には出ていませんでした。始まりのほうで演奏したFIRE BALLで加わりましたが、また戻っていきました。

ペンギンちゃんのリモコン操作のメンバーは今回のアメリカ合衆国のローズパレードでは木琴（鉄琴）を叩いていませんでしたか？
寝ても覚めてもまーさくざんまい様 ローズパレードではペンギンちゃんは鉄琴を叩いています。木琴は卒業された元気ちゃんが叩いていました。他の生徒さんもそうですが、あの長い距離を鉄琴や木琴担いで、叩いて、ステップ踏みながらよく歩き通したと感心します。

あゆパパ様 見ていただきありがとうございます。他の方の動画でのコメントを拝見しました。お気づきになられたかと思いますが、私もT.Bの小さな元気ちゃんのファンでもあります。途中、カメラが浮気しているのは観客の間に見ることができたからです。パワフルにT.Bを振り回していますが（乱暴な表現ですみません）時々T.Bに振り回されている動画を見るとほほえましくなり、そしてコケないかと心配したりしています（ほとんど親心ですかね）。

というか今年の1年生パーカスものすごく優秀だと思います！全員笑顔もノリも最高に素晴らしいし、特にパレードでスネアとグロッケンを担当している2人はまるで2〜3年生かの様な橘の風格を既に纏ってると感じます。パレードで最後尾を歩いている男子生徒も含めて誰一人欠けること無く3年間頑張って欲しいです

👍👍 Thank you for showing the Percussion Section. 🥁🥁🥁🥁 You don't normally see them because they are in the back of the Band but they deserve as much attention as the rest of the band. Like the rest of the Band, I like the spirit, smiles and enthusiasm showed by the percussionists. They add so much energy to the music and tempo of their performances.

また見付けてしまいました・・・驚くほど素晴しい映像です！正面からのものも拝見し感動しただけ、合わせ鏡のような映像に心ときめきます・・『橘的世界』の奥の深さを世界中に余すところなく指し示したこととでしょう・・・ パーカッションPartの力量はすでに認めるところですが、こうまで見せてくれると。ついPCの前に座っている自分を発見します・・そこでShorthairのDrumsのお子、愛くるしい眼差しながら少年のような純な表情に、司令塔としての自負が窺えます。適度なおかず、バスドラの踏み方、シンバル、ハイハットの巧みさ、なんと素敵なドラマーなのでしょう・・・Edgeを１本叩くことによってチームが動きだすKeyPersonですね・・・そしてSteelDrum,Triangle,Guiro,ボンゴ、コンガ、Timpanei,シンバルそして銅鑼まで入れてきましたね・・お子たちそれぞれが行きつ戻りつして曲を盛り上げてくれましたから、ここにこういう音が欲しいなと思えば入れてくる、なんと上質な編曲なのでしょうか・・・・わけても日本の打楽器の歴史の申し子、とも言える天才的少女が『橘的世界』の側面にいたのです。LittleMermaidよりの曲ではTimpaneiであのクライマックスの奏和に映え、１本のClarinet、１本のAltoSaxの素敵なアンサンブルにも、このお子がうしろから押し出すようにあやつっていたのですね・・・Septemberではボンゴで切り、コンガでリズムをとり、見事というしか言葉がみつかりません・・SingSingSingでは、はたまたタイミングよく銅鑼を叩き、しかもOutroでは3連打のMuteの背どめ、すごいことをよくやりとげましたね！絶賛です！！可愛らしい無性に可愛らしいお子は、きっとご両親の愛情をいっぱいうけて育っているのでしょう・・・くわえてお子たちみんながリズムをとっているところが凄い、これは一体なんでしょうか・・・ 最後に・・『橘は実さえ花さえその葉さへ枝に霜降れどいや常葉の木・・・万葉集より』お礼まで・・・スタッフ一同：素敵な映像の編集と配信ありがとうございました。cac406-san: Thank you for Uping.Appreciated it.皆々様、向寒の折りがらお身体ご自愛あそばしますよう願います。

baby bb様 応援動画、私も見ました。バスドラちゃんはもともとオーボエの人なのではないでしょうか。オーボエはマーチングに不向きと聞きますので、座奏はオーボエでマーチングではパーカス、そして大会ではカラーガードを担当したのではと思われます。そこで、来期はどうなるのかと考えてしまいます。パーカス隊の人数が増えたのとは逆にカラーガードの中核が激減します。ペンギンちゃんのドラム、バスドラちゃんのマルチタムを期待していたのですが・・・・まさかのカンバック バスドラちゃんんんん!!ですか!!!
