Thanks! I surfed it midday...then all the pros showed up after the Pipe Masters got called off, so decided to film the ripping! I think it was a good choice over battling the crowd and rip currents
The level of shred in this video is unbelievable!!! Mind blown. I love halewai such a great wave. Never surfed it this big tho. Absolutely beautiful. Truely artwork on those waves
They make it look so effortless. Let me assure you, Ive been out there when it was smaller than this and the conditions are no joke. The current is ripping from Left to Right on screen, the waves arent full on barreling but they've got such wild power.
This is just my opinion. However in my opinion this is one of the most fun waves on the planet. If I had to be stuck with one particular swell. And height and conditions as well as break for the rest of my life this would be it. This is the perfect size wave where it's big pumping and fun but it is not too big to the point where I would feel uncomfortable
Agreed. Looks super fun Semi long Barrels lips Long sections Steep sections Everything you want Although, all time waves can break in any condition, looks like this wave might handle them all doesn't look of shore in this clip
Looks kinda like Sunset took the keiki down to Ali'i for the afternoon. This angle is such a different perspective. I can see Pua'ena in the background but can't tell if anyone is braving these currents. Are you all the way on the other side of the dry sharp lava rock point to get this?
Haleiwa does take the north also likes a little hint of West in the swell. Used to live across the street from Ali'i Beach Park for 10 years, can't imagine Lani's was really on the same day after that Kona storm
@@LowtideTv oh man, come on! You did the hardest thing! And you did it brilliantly! You got yourseld a good cam, good lens, found yourself a fantastic angle at the beach, spent hours shooting this etc etc etc (you know better than anyone alll you had to do to be able to be there and shoot this). Tagging and naming the surfers will only bring your video to the next level, for a myriad of reasons, but mainly because 1) it will provide info for everyone watching (fans) and so they can talk about it. Like "hey, did you guys see (surfer's name) on that Haleiwa video? Wow, he was ripping!" "yeah, but I liked much better (surfer's name) carve on that big one" etc... 2) it will give proper exposure to the surfers (some of the best as you said...) and that may lead the surfers (named/tagged) and or theirs sponsors to share your video, post links to it on their socials etc etc. Keep rocking
Um yeah that was effin gnarly and I say that like a dork on purpose because words cannot accurately describe how f*cking gnarly that was. Helluva job filming btw

Top notch surfing in here
Agree.. it makes trestles look like a grom wave. Hawaiian juice
Hawaiian trestles for sure. :)
Barron and Griffin were absolutely shredding…but it looks like everyone had a pretty solid day in beautiful conditions.

A note to the Vans people this is a wave to do airs, not the Pipeline.
Yup
Looks like so much fun!
I'd rather watch this session than this year Pipe masters.
the 2022 Pipe Masters was a major fail lol
