    Love it John! I caught a 19.75” creek largemouth today 4.40 pounds and a 17.75” smallie in the same creek on a whopper plopper! I got some trebles in my hand though while taking the hooks out of the largemouth. That wasn’t any fun.. haha. But awesome day bank fishing a new creek for me today and caught a few other largemouth and smallmouth. That little charger thing is pretty legit!

    I've been doing well on the obsidian nikko hellgramite, zman trd craw,whopper plopper,and the zara spook puppy in bone color. The zara spook puppy is one I used to always use and I caught some nice ones on it Sunday evening. They wouldn't touch the hellgramite but demolished the spook. I strongly recommend it. 👊👍

    Back in the beginning of May I came to the same realization. Why haven't I been fishing swimbaits?
    It's just a good versatile way to cover water. You can crank it in and catch fish. Slow it down and finesse it. Burn it in and you're hitting topwater. Can't beat a good swimbait!

    Everyone wants to use the newest hot lure out but sometimes the fish haven't seen the old school stuff either. My old school go to are shad raps but they don't work so well in the shallows.
    Speaking of newer, thanks for suggesting the Keitech 3.8 a while back. When i have found them on shad in the current it has been dynamite including my pb LM and tied for pb Spot too!

    I fish chartreus swimbaits Texas-rigged and weightless up here in Ottawa-area, Canada. They're great around lillypad beds and in rocky rivers. Largemouth, smallmouth, and pike all eat these things here. White Berkley Powerbait twisty-tail grubs are also a favourite go-to for rock bass, sunfish, and walleye.

    Man, John, that exact white pearl swim bait is the main exclusive lure I use for Pickeral here in the Pocono Mts. of PA! I try other lures and they rarely get any kind of results close to that white swim bait! I mainly use the Zoom Super Fluke Jr. 3-1/2" with paddle tail lure for Pickeral like you use the Nikko Helgramite for Bass; if you ever get up here to the Pocono Mts, that white swim bait is all you'll need! :-) Also, your video skills rival that of any trained professional!! Excellent work, John! :-)

    It's easy to get "lured" by the incredible number of baits we have access to now. My grandfather--who passed in mid 1990s in his 80s-- fished 10 months of the year for bass, catfish, crappie, white bass...I swear to you he only used these 4 "lures": Heddon tiny torpedo, mister twister curly tail, black & yellow/christmas tree jigs, and a ball of earthworms underneath a bobber (he would often cast and retrieve like an artificial). I wonder sometimes if I overcomplicate my fishing.

    Jackery has a lot to suit situations but yea cabins etc they require to keep your unit out of the sun. they have a 2,000 thirty amp plug. you have to get the newer ones if you want to know how long it will last on 100% what’s plugged into it. i’ve been happy and pleased it gives you peace of mind 6 months non use around half charge back up they recommend keeping 100% my 1,000 will run our Traeger pellet grill no issues. it comes with pig tail so you can hook up two solar panels 100 watt at once. they have usb’s. i wish i could afford their biggest unit. they have light 💡 strings to plug in usb low medium high settings. so like charging camera batteries to. bigger the unit more 110’s standard plugs then the 1,000 has has the c usb and quick charge. unit numbers are set to how much each unit can take with multiple stuff plugged in. yes cigarette plug in for cars and certain things that use the plug in extra usb’s they have a built in led light with sos. we have had outages brown outs i got tired of setting up lanterns nothing happens i keep energizer rechargeable ‘s incase the standards are bad.

    Hey John, I always watch for your adventures. Makes me wish i had decided to take my own fishing adventures earlier in life, especially if it had been back in the 90's when i lived down in that neck of the woods.
    I do have a question about a kayak you had once upon a time. What is your opinion on the kingsport 12 for a first time kayak owner? I saw somewhere at some point your maiden voyage.... i think. I ask as we are about the same height, however you are far lighter. Im cruising currently around 333. So finding a kayak that is rated in the weight capacity that i require in the preowned arena in an affordable price point is more than a little difficult. And i have a line on a kingsport.

  • @Scott-by9ks

    Has anyone else noticed the insane price of lures lately? I forget what retailer I was in but I was in the fishing section and I found a small little tub of scented lures. I want to say there was probably 8-12 lures in that little bucket and they wanted $22 for it!!!!
    I want to say it was Gulp shrimp lures.
    I mean I can buy a lot of fresh shrimp for $22!

    • @svengalt9546
      @svengalt9546 Рік тому +1

      Yep, I keep wanting to try the gulp line of plastics but the price always keeps me away. I bet it wouldn't be as bad if there were more competition among that style of bait. If I want really small minnows like that, bobby garland is very affordable. Or I can just shave down and repurpose my broken 3" swimbait plastics. Which I also find some really affordable ones. Bass Pro and Yum are what I stick to, and Googan craws and swimbaits are not a bad value either but they seem to break apart easily. Online retailers like Tackle Warehouse have some really good deals too. I lucked out finding "Crock-O-Gator Swamp Bug", cheap and I caught 8 bass on a single one with zero sign of wear.
