Since filming this reaction, I have finished the entire Berserk (1997) anime, am halfway through watching The Golden Age Trilogy (Memorial Edition), and have started reading the manga... And all I can say is... WOW. I can't believe I didn't get into this sooner.
Yeah... Read the manga. The Black Swordsman and the Golden Age Arc are only at 1/8 of the story and not even the best parts. The anime versions also skip a lot of character development and some fairly large chunks of the story originally written in the manga.
Sounds like it was completely ripped off from the movie requiem for a dream, who rammstein ripped it off for Mein Herz Brennt who now slaughter to prevail ripped it off.
The look on guts face while he rips off his bandages crying tears of blood and screaming breaks my heart everytime, he has nothing but trouble since he was found as a baby. STP did an amazing job on this. I've started reading it now.
@shadowfire6117 now I know why he named him guts. Alex could be his own character in the berserk universe. Alex and guts just go and kill the Godhand once and for all and Alex's scream could destroy the behelit and the godhand.
I'm loving the cross-genre trend that's going on right now. We listeners are fortunate that it seems to be opening up huge creativity doors for artists.
They have a wider audience than most people would probably expect. I saw a few Slaughter to Prevail shirts at the Evanescence show in Edmonton on Sunday.
Slaughter are just to good man. This is my favourite song from Slaughter. Everything about it is top tier in My book. Such a catchy chorus to. Love the reaction ❤️❤️🔥🔥 also such a chunky riff to
This song runs every time since it dropped some days ago. I very like this song because of the symphoniecs too. And i really waited for your reaction to it.
When I listened to it at the release, I couldn't believe my ears. This song is incredible, and holy shit I've never like heard vocals like in this chorus. I liked slaughter before, but now I'm a fan, not only because of this song but because of the stylistic range they have.
Thank you for being honest about your emotional reaction and that you aren't afraid to show it actually affecting you. We need more male role models like you Tank.
Rammstein influence? This was stolen from the movie Requiem for a Dream which was released in October of the year 2000. Mein Herz Brennt (the song where everyone thinks its from) came from the studio album "Mutter" which was released in 2001.
I absolutely love this song. Never really listened to Slaughter to Prevail before. After listening to this I will definitely listen to more of their music This was epic.
My son is also 3, turning 4 in a couple months, and I wish i was cool enough to get him to run around the house screaming Slaughter to Prevail as well. Awesome parenting
my favorite from STP to-date, even including the stuff Alex covers for fun. absolutely amazing tribute to Berserk and the Mangaka who sadly isnt here with us today.
I went to one of those shows this summer with manson and FFDP. Slaughter seemed to have just as many fans as Mason did which I thought was insane. Once in a lifetime experience it was fantastic
I think the love for both bmth and slipknot has become a bigger and bigger influence on Alex and it shows in how much variety he’s been producing with slaughter. I love it all and I’m happy this band is blowing up.
Symphonic Core? I also heard some Ramstein influence for sure. Maybe even some classical too that "bum bum-up-a-bum" in the background score is very familiar. I am at 9:05 though it is throughout the song, but I know that sound.
Hearing this played for the first time live at SNW last year was something else. Short set but they packed it in! I moshed against a couple guys in Teletubby suits during this song. One of my best concert memories
Wow! That was fire! 😀🤘 Loved it and I also was surprised about the symphonic part. Never been in to to STP that much this might have won me over 😁 About Ingrid, what have you created 😅😉💕
Just be ready to see and read some really vile things. Manga has some of the darkest themes and story elements out of fiction ever. It's beautifully sad and gross and happy and angering and all of that.
Dude. Imagine Slaughter to prevail going full classic on a video and performing this song live with an orchestra behind em like bands used to do 😂😂😂 not goina happen, but would be epic lol. I 100% agree with you. Watching this band’s growth and progression has been a super fun, super awesome experience.
Ngl, the first few times I heard this song i had no idea it was slaughter. It was on my Spotify Playlist and I just jammed to it while I was driving until one day I was sitting at a red light and decided to look at who it was and I was blown away. Best song I've heard in a few years and it will never get old
Berserk was the first anime I watched well over 20 years ago now. There's a couple of "remakes" of that particular arc of the story... The "Golden Age" Trilogy looks good(art) and covers most of that bit of the story in around three hours total. There was a later more recent anime for the period after that arc that was not that well received, due to being CGI animation, story is still there though. Manga is super good though... not for the kiddies. Berserk is dark fantasy, proper dark... and Golden Age Arc is the "nicer" part of the story. Not heard this song yet, but I am guessing its "Behelit" (Egg of the King) that I've seen floating around.
I think it sounds like they saw Gojira's Olympic performance (which also had those 'bursts' of symphonics). Sounds dope. I'm not a fan of the band, but if they continue in this direction, I might become one 🤷🤘
Reminds me of mein herz brent as well, which might make this my new play o loop song (mein herz brent is my favourite song ever). and I'm not even a slaughter to prevail fan. i know like 2 songs.
Just before you commented about Rammstein, I was thinking that it reminds of them and the symphonic backing is probably what I liked a lot in there. And then you say it..
Another great deathcore band we should all pay a lot of attention to is Disembodied Tyrant. Blake Mullens is a deathcore savant, and I'm very much looking forward to how the band will continue to evolve now that Blake has other musicians in the band to bounce ideas off of. I'm kind of surprised that you haven't yet featured the band on your channel, or at least that I'm aware of. Anyway, yes, I think Disembodied Tyrant easily belongs among the other great deathcore bands.
They've been playing Behelit in live shows for quite a while now. By the way, this song was inspired by Rammstein. Alex spoke about it in an interview.
TANK - Just curious, I am an old metal head from the early 1980's - Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dio, Black Sabbath w/Gillian, Saxon, Ozzy, Krokus, etc. Question: what bands are currently touring that come close to this metal genre? I am not a big fan of the harder stuff, this more melodic metal is what I prefer. Just asking. Thanks!
I must say. This truly felt different. The only thing the verses sound a lot like the slaughter to prevail that you know, but, the symphonic, the chorus, the breakdown being kinda different. Bravo slaughter to prevail, you shut me up after saying all the latest single being samey. This is truly different.
This track is just a massive step up and I’m all about it this is the best sounding track they have made they also use the brand of sacrifice logo in the movie brightburn the anti super hero horror movie I highly rate it 💪💪💪
@TankTheTech Absolutely one of the most underrated! Saw them open for Soilwork (another vastly underrated band) back in 2006 along with Mnemic and Darkest Hour! Worth the 6 Hour drive and speeding ticket!
I realy love to see how alex and ronnie (I think atleast thats what happens) help each other out.One with cleans and the other with harsh vocals. same goes for elizabeth and will ramos.hes cleans are so much better now and if he gets opera singing parts or a couple of tricks from his lessons like he said hes working on or wishes to.....oh my god. just think about a future with alex getting an even better breath control or clean singing, maybe even bringing some high screams back, ronnie with better growls and lorashore/ will with opera elements.... i want it now!!!
This song only hits a lot harder if you know the story and the context behind the scenes in the AMV. Such a fitting song for the series. I think it's high time we get a collaboration with Brand Of Sacrifice.
I wish this song were out when they were with Manson and FFDP because I went to see that show specifically for Slaughter to Prevail and had so much fun T_T
*I don't know, my first thought was SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL collaborated once more with Michael Leo Valeri [ LeadGuitarist, Songwriter/Composer and Producer of the (also) "BERSERK"-influenced Canadian Deathcore band BRAND OF SACRIFICE ] . Valeri was the one, who did the Afterproduction for the song "Baba Yaga".* ⬅ 🤔🎸🥁🎸🎻🎵💿🔊🔥

i'd love an update video with your thoughts on Berserk
Yeah... Read the manga. The Black Swordsman and the Golden Age Arc are only at 1/8 of the story and not even the best parts. The anime versions also skip a lot of character development and some fairly large chunks of the story originally written in the manga.
I bought the first chapter of the manga and it was great; should I finish it?
According to my husband, the manga is the best. The anime was far from the greatness of the manga..just his opinion lol
@bolillo5013 yes!
Fun fact: the orchestration in this song was done by the pianist and orchestra composer for Fleshgod Apocalypse (a god teir band) Francesco Ferrini :)
Dude that guy gets around a lot. 😂 But that speaks a lot to how good he is.
He also helps out Chris Wiseman to polish up the orchestra for Shadow of intent. Incredibly talented guy :)
That's awesome
@Pygmyer and helped Ice Nine Kills with their recent song A Work of Art
Sounds like it was completely ripped off from the movie requiem for a dream, who rammstein ripped it off for Mein Herz Brennt who now slaughter to prevail ripped it off.
Wait a minute . . . your daughter is 3 years old already? Dude I remember when you announced that she was born. That can't be right lol.
Almost 4, actually. Hahaha
The look on guts face while he rips off his bandages crying tears of blood and screaming breaks my heart everytime, he has nothing but trouble since he was found as a baby. STP did an amazing job on this. I've started reading it now.
I forgot this song was about berserk and I thought it was about Alex’s dog, and I was really concerned lol
@shadowfire6117 now I know why he named him guts. Alex could be his own character in the berserk universe. Alex and guts just go and kill the Godhand once and for all and Alex's scream could destroy the behelit and the godhand.
Best manga ever
I'm loving the cross-genre trend that's going on right now. We listeners are fortunate that it seems to be opening up huge creativity doors for artists.
Definitely agree
That's why modern music is some of my favorite ever made
My daughter's jiu jitsu instructor blasts the Slaughter to Prevail in the gym when he does his personal workout early in the day.
Slaughter To Prevail are definitely going places and we're all lucky to be along for the ride.
I love that they keep evolving. I'm never disappointed.
Or “Devolving” and steadily becoming more mainstream..
@@The0nlyy becoming more popular doesn't necessarily mean devolving
They have a wider audience than most people would probably expect. I saw a few Slaughter to Prevail shirts at the Evanescence show in Edmonton on Sunday.
I really love this song and it just shows the talent of this band
Slaughter are just to good man. This is my favourite song from Slaughter. Everything about it is top tier in My book. Such a catchy chorus to. Love the reaction ❤️❤️🔥🔥 also such a chunky riff to
That speaking bit at the start is fuckin cringe as fuck
9:34 - Didn't expect to see Dr. Mike on this channel lol)
I love Dr. Mike. Hahaha
He is omnipresent, especially near elementary schools.
I was never a big STP fan, but I could get into this. The symphonics just add so much depth to the sound.
This song runs every time since it dropped some days ago. I very like this song because of the symphoniecs too. And i really waited for your reaction to it.
Slaughter To Prevail has been my favorite modern metal band for a while now. And it continues.
I am on board with you there! Feels like the band I have been looking for since, before they existed.
Lol
Sounds like Alex is proving to all the haters that he isnt a one trick pony. Sounds gnarly.
Always thought i was the only one tearing up and getting emotional to heavy ass songs, guss not! Hell yeah brother!
When I listened to it at the release, I couldn't believe my ears. This song is incredible, and holy shit I've never like heard vocals like in this chorus. I liked slaughter before, but now I'm a fan, not only because of this song but because of the stylistic range they have.
Im seeing them in knotfest in Australia next year i NEED them to play this
Alex's cleans in this remind of in flames "the quiet place" era
It was Francesco Ferrini of Fleshgod Apocalypse who did the Symphonic/Orchestral elements of this song
ma man tank ur reaction are always one the top ones keep it up
Thank you for being honest about your emotional reaction and that you aren't afraid to show it actually affecting you. We need more male role models like you Tank.
I like the version they played @ Sick New World back in April. They've been playing this live for 6 months. The chorus has changed quiet a bit tho
Thaaaanks Tank!! ❤ Alex cleans are great, he's becoming such an incredible vocalist ❤
His clean vocal in this song is clean but still agressive u know what I mean
He has really unique clean vocals and I agree it still feels... Powerful? I think is the term for it
Mein Herz Brennt! Yes! I've been racking my brain, what it reminds me of! Well, Alex is a Rammstein fan.
Some clean sections also reminded me of 2010ish In Flames
Rammstein influence? This was stolen from the movie Requiem for a Dream which was released in October of the year 2000. Mein Herz Brennt (the song where everyone thinks its from) came from the studio album "Mutter" which was released in 2001.

When I first heard this the first band to pop in my head was Septicflesh.
I can't wait to watch them play this song live.
There are so many good things happening in this song! Love ittttttttttt!
I love Metal and I love Berserk. This was awesome!
Man, I was waiting for your reaction! Berserk just got new fans!
Wow...i finally got down with a slaughter to prevail song after all these years
i have this song on repeat. Its a banger. Someone in boxing, Wrestling or MMA needs to use this as an entrance song
Berserk is so good! Can't wait for the reaction video lol
New favorite Slaughter song. If this is the evolution, I’m here for it
Awesome reaction!!!
Alex Terrible never disappoints
Remember hearing this for the first time at Sick New World it was fantastic!
Yeah this is definitely showing they're still consistently maturing as artists, fucking great to see!
my favorite from STP to-date, even including the stuff Alex covers for fun. absolutely amazing tribute to Berserk and the Mangaka who sadly isnt here with us today.
I love how enthusiastic Tank's daughter is for Slaughter, and inevitably heavy music.
#1 song of 2024. I’ve never watched the anime either but now I want to. What a HUGE track for Slaughter to Prevail. That riff is heavy af.

Their best song head and shoulders above. My daughters almost 4 and she likes saosin and Paleface in the car i always oblige.
Ive liked pretty much everything ive heard from STP but this is a masterpiece. My son was recommending the manga. Im definitely going to check it out.
