Thank you very much for your kind message, and of course for listening to my music. I have this big thing about keeping music 'live' and playing it from the heart; with loads of feeling, expression... and personality. Bringing a tune to life! I have enjoyed many instruments over the years, including Thomas, Technics, Baldwin, Hohner and Hammond. I enjoy my current Hammond XE2 for its organ sounds, although not too impressed with the orchestral voices on this model. Very Best Wishes - Peter :)
Once again a great performance of some wonderful old time melodies.Best wishes from an old fan.Have a large number of your recordings, but you have a marvelous selection on You Tube.
You are very kind. Thanks for listening to my music, and here's wishing you all success with your own music making. All the Best from Sweden - Peter :)
Thank You ...for allowing me to travel with you on this wonderful musical journey! I look forward to our next "journey" .... enjoy your playing so much!
I have seen this video many many times and I just cannot get over how impressive your block chord technique is. I think you should publish your arrangements. They are absolutely fantastic.
You are a master of the Organ.....thanks for being one of only a few who are left..... and still playing like you love it.....it shows, my friend! Mike Reed, Hammond Organist for 57 years
Thank you, Mike, your kind message has really made my day. I too feel strongly about keeping music truly 'live' - Sadly nowadays I see and hear such a lot of pre-programming and multi-tracking by some young 'pros' : But worst of all are those MIDI files which come either loaded into various organ 'upgrades' or may be purchased, loaded into the organ and 'mimed-along to'... so that the person sat on the organ bench is not actually playing ANY notes of their own, and the music the public is hearing has been created by an entirely different person to the one sitting on the stage. Makes me wonder what pride or satisfaction they can achieve as 'performers'? Trouble is, the listening public are easily fooled - but I think that at least some of them are beginning to wise-up to the miming situation. If it sounds too good to be played with just two hands, the odds are that it's NOT being played by just two hands. Thankfully there are some young players who still play their music 'live' and that music is always very much appreciated by people who KNOW what they are listening to, as the music has that 'special' quality that can only come from a 'live' performance. Thanks again, Mike, for listening to my music and for your friendly comments. Best wishes from Sweden - Peter :)
HaywardMusic Peter: Your thoughts reflect my own; I have over 170 UA-cam Hammond videos on here, in the last 60 days, and I would like for you to listen to them when you can. I'm an old fashioned organist, pedals and all, like yourself, and I was raised on Lenny Dee, Jackie Davis, and Eddie Layton music. Tell me what you think..... All this comes 27 years after retiring from the nightclub scene, and after 35 years playing out regularly. it is, as my wife puts it, my "New Mission" to send out solid organ music to others.....part of my semi-retirement! (I still teach) Thanks so much for taking time to not only answer me, but also to keep the music playing..... best wishes, Mike Reed (just click on Mike Reed Organ to listen)
Superb job! I checked UA-cam for an organ version of Once in a while (I just played it on my B-3000 and I wanted to hear how other organists played it). I loved Ken Griffin's version, of course, but this one here is really great! I also loved You'll never know just how much I love you (I think I shall go play it too right now!). BTW, I love the X-77!
Peter, I have been a devout fan of your style of organ music ever since I was a kid. When I was a young adult, I took my dates and girlfriends to lounges with organ music, not rock concerts. In the Navy, I was on a ship big enough to have, if I remember right, a Hammond organ in it's chapel, and out at sea, I would spend much time there listening to organ playing crew members keeping in practice. It's so great that media like youtube carries this style of music with all the other styles. So I want to ditto all the posts to your videos that thank you, and show admiration and appreciation for your musical talent, and keeping this good "old school" type of music alive and well!
+kiggsia Your friendly message has really "made my day". Thank you for your friendly comments, for listening to my music, but most of all for supporting *Live* music. You are welcome here anytime, best wishes - Peter :)
Thanks, Gary. Really happy that you enjoyed this clip, which I recorded many years ago. As you so rightly say.... Long Live the Hammond Organ!! - Best wishes - Peter :)
Hi after going to a number of your concerts it nice to have you playing on my comp.Nice to here the old evergreens.Thaks for a very enjoyable evening.Best wishes.
Once In a While is one of my favorites. My teacher from years ago taught me to play this in the same full style as you performed. Beautiful! Coupled very nicely with You'll Never Know. Thanks for posting these old favorites.
Hi over there, I just discovered Your presentation by accident (although it is already so many years available in the net). I am really impressed, it is so beautyful. Manga haelsningar till Sverige, juergen.
Hello Idris, Thank you very much for coming to my concerts over the years, and I wish you many hours of listening (and watching) my various video clips here on my HaywardMusic channel. I hope they bring back some good memories. Kindest Regards - Peter :)
@kingoliver45 Hi Austin. Thanks for listening to my music, and for your kind comment. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from us in Sweden - Peter :)
Absolutely Brilliant, it's a real treat to hear old school organ music at it's best. Out of all organs you have owned, which was your all time favorite? I used to have an old Thomas Organ and loved it unfortunately it's gone now , i'm getting a Yamaha AR80. Most modern digital organs take time making every sound realistic & leave the old organ sounds with no tonal warmth Thanks again for making me happy and it's a shame more people my age (32) & younger do not appreciate this dying art.
@dukesgal39 You are really kind. Thankyou for listening to my music and for accompanying on my musical journeys. Lots more musical travelling to come.... I look forward to the pleasure of your company 'on board'. Best wishes from Sweden - Peter
Hello Ralph, You are very kind. Thank you for listening to my music, and I really appreciate your nice comment. Hope you will continue to enjoy the music on my little UA-cam channel. Best wishes from Sweden - Peter :)
@gazzeel It was a good way to be taught... using only your fingers, to create 'live' music... straight from the heart. Thankyou for listening to my music - Peter.
Thanks for listening, and for your kind comment. We still can't improve on those good 'old' melodies, that are listenable, hum-able and memorable. All best wishes to you, from Sweden - Peter :)
Gorgeous interpretation, full and nuanced, with exceptional full-hand block-chord stylings throughout...and that lovely key change towards the end of 'Once In A While' was perfectly timed. A beautiful arrangement, Peter! I am also enamored by the harmonic depth and tonal richness of the X77, which I have unfortunately never heard live - but your recording manages to capture all of its harmonic glory exceptionally well. Do you use a stereo mic setup? A direct line feed? A combination of both? Whatever you did, the final mix works very well, on an instrument that is notoriously difficult to record properly. Please share your secrets! Thanks for a wonderful rendition of two well-matched evergreens, played to a gold standard by one of the best players around, on one of the nicest-sounding vintage Hammonds out there. Much appreciated!
Thank you very much, David. I was enjoying every moment of this rare opportunity to play X77 Hammond, so much so that this was a totally 'spontaneous' arrangement... inspired by the pure sounds of this tonewheel Hammond organ. I had never played those precise key changes before, but they just seemed the right thing to do at the time and on this instrument. Thank you for listening, and all best wishes from Sweden - Peter :)
GREAT music. this is real talent.
I have this song on vinyl. Thank you for your wonderful performance
This is REAL music. 5 Stars
And a big 'THANKYOU' to you too, for taking the time to listen to my music. Best wishes from Sweden - Peter :)

I would like to add my "Thanks" for beautiful renditions of these old favorites of mine!
I love this Peter, very beautiful. These are the sounds that made me fall in love with Hammond Organs.
The Hammond is a truly "classic" sound... you can put your own stamp on the music, and show your musical personality.
I have seen this video many many times and I just cannot get over how impressive your block chord technique is. I think you should publish your arrangements. They are absolutely fantastic.
