@@TylerJohnstonGuitar That's a good idea. The workmanship of the ESPs is really first class. I would not have thought that the jump from a normal ESP Eclipse I (pre lawsuit) to a USA is then again so high. I own both and would never give them away again. I have also had several Gibson and always something was not 100% perfect.
That flying V "persimmon" wood one is pretty cool. That silver design on the front V really looks like a blade.... even a super custom "Damascus Steel" blade that is a very high-end knife steel design. It really works with the wood. Not sure about all this "Art" project guitars because it's supposed to be about the sound but the talent and creativity sure is cool.
Serious Artisans and Craftsman working there! WOW! What they've done with the woods is fantastic! Keep in mind,.. different woods react differently to all things moisture (stains, finishes, etc.), sanded or carved! Regardless of body and neck styles,.. these are beautiful standalone works! Hard to choose only one you like most!
13:37 Those last two are Raijin (Thunder God, with drums around him) and Fugin (Wind God, carrying a large sack of winds) of Japanese folklore and Shinto religion. source: Wikipedia (EN)
I've been saying for years that you spend thousands of dollars on an expensive guitar that has cheap plastic on it! The guitars I've started building have no plastic. It's either metal or wood. I also mount the PUP's from behind to keep the top clean, and I make wood PUP covers. I love what ESP has done here, especially the V types.
Go-ol-ly !...So much color & flame ,I really liked the Arrow with Japanese Persimmon wood , the layering of textures , that second layer looks like a 'dog-hair ' finish which I love . The Snappers were cool , and the M2's as well , the FRX was just goofy looking , reminds me of some ' Minarik ' guitars ...and that 6 string bass is quite the beast , I appreciate the artwork . Thanks Trog !!
That last guitar is 100% on some yakuza boss’s den wall next to his authentic 15th century samurai sword with 27 confirmed period kills …and a few more present day.
That Persimmon V is gorgeously sick! Not overly done like some of the others, but the craftsmanship is outstanding! Gibson should send a team over to observe how true craftsmanship and quality control are done…..
I never thought there'd be an art division of a guitar manufacturer. The builders of these ESP Exhibition guitars are the most skilled craftsmen I've seen.
And I’ve seen loads of Gibsons ( not epiphone’s either!) that can’t even fit knobs on correctly….. or tooling marks etc etc …. ESP custom shop are awesome luthiers : the real deal
Like, why do you highlight ESP, and not like Gretsch or a boutique like Waterslide. These all look like the dream guitars for Winger fans or something.
I’m surprised you didn’t bring to attention the custom nut on these models, interesting design as well. These things are beautiful, ESPs stand alone at this level.
Some are a bit too busy and many are not my style, but no doubting the craft and skill that has gone into making these. Did like the fish swimming in the stream -- a nice touch.
I own 3 Gibson MIIIs My fav is the Ebony but I really wan't the ugly red stripe delux and the other delux. I also want a couple of reissue which have a compound radiused. They sound wonderful and feel so great. Once I start noodling on mine it is hard to put down.
Maybe the first four would've looked better if the plate were countersunk into the back or just countersink screws with washers on back. Also the one with the river on back appears to have shark swimming in that channel. The last two art guitars both look as if theres a switch on them jacks. My favorite was the skeleton s from the nut to onto the guitar itself. I kind of was getting a Grateful Dead vibe from it also.
I have one of the custom shop F series ESP guitars and it's super gaudy so I don't play it much. Kind of a case queen really. I break it out to show it off more as an art piece occasionally but that's about it.
Salutations Austin! An interesting assortment of guitars. A lot of them are a bit to much for my tastes, and I actually liked the backs of some of them more than the fronts, but there were a few that were great all around, such as the purple one that you mentioned and the Flying V with a similar finish in red, which were both high on my list of favourites. It looked like there were switches built into the output jack receptacles that are mounted on the back side of the elaborately carved guitars, which is a nice feature, so you could turn off the power, without having to unplug the instrument, that would be a very useful feature on many guitars that have onboard power, so you don’t run down the batteries while you’re taking a break. Unfortunately, either of those guitars don’t appear to be comfortable to play with a strap on sitting down, they are both strictly wall hangers. I might actually visit their website though, and look into a few of the models that I like. I don’t recall you touring this particular site before, it never hurts to mix it up every now and then. Thank you for posting these videos! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸
10:55 - Anytime there's a skeleton themed guitar, the back access panel to the pots should be a vintage coffin shape/routing. Just sayin'. Every skeleton needs a box!
since i first held one and played it... esp is just at the top in my opinion, non of those guitars where something i would buy though, but as a show piece of what they can do, they do just that
it would be cool to know the price of some of those. people joke about blues lawyers buying the high end classic design guitars, i guess there are heavy metal lawyers too
Nice review and you know what, it would be great to see you review an ESP guitar. Maybe a KH-2 (a ouija ?) since you did the Greeny Hammett ! Peace from France 😉
Nice! I dig these videos of beautiful one off guitars that can only be obtained by the uber-rich or VERY LUCKY... This peon can only look at them in videos... I do appreciate the very fine craftsmanship, but I wonder how many trade Tuesdays it would take to go from a Glarry to one of these bad boys??? Trogly? Trogly? Trogly???
Gibson Should Send Some of their Staff To the ESP factory to Learn HOW to Paint & FINISH guitars ! I Burst out Laughing When you showed The GIBSON GUITAR & Said it Looked Similar !! 😂😂🤣 I don't Think So Trog ... Looked like we had Gone from $3000 to $4000 Guitars down to a $500 Guitar !
Yes, ESP's custom shop does that so each tuner is a slightly different height to get an ideal angle over the nut. The attention to detail is incredible.
Used E-IIs are one of the best buys out there. For whatever reason, most E-IIs tank in value on the used market (lack of brand recognition maybe?) Highly suggest looking at used ones in Japan since the exchange rate is favorable right now.
Trogly,You’ve really got to check out @ben Crowe,Crimson guitars,He’s a quite brilliant luthier,The guitars him and his company make are probably the finest craftsmanship you can get,I’ll be ordering one in the next few months,
I love ESP/LTD guitars. However, a lot of these guitars (you know which ones when you see them) just remind me of those resin/epoxy pour wood table tops you see at those road side "walnut bowl" or Amish shops. I'm sorry if I ruined any for anyone and I mean NO disrespect to ESP but it just looks kinda cheesy imo.

14:24 That is not "some guy robbing a bank". These are Japanese Buddhist Gods. This is the wind god. He is holding the wind in that sack.
I’m a Gibson fan but ESP is the best there’s ever been!!!
ESP is in a league of their own. That Lynch Burst Snapper is incredible.
Absolutely. I saved for years and bought an ESP USA Horizon II. Absolutely worth every penny
@@mathias_411 I’m looking to start an Eclipse fund myself. You get a lot more bang for your buck over a Gibson.

Looks like they also used that steel for inlays, very cool.
The V was my favorite.
The Guitar as Art. This is what can happen when you really love your job. Fantastic creations. 😎
I so agree, I love guitars but I also love all the woods and amazing craftsmanship.

7:44 the pickup cover design here is called perlage. It’s commonly found in high end Swiss watch movements. Those rings are typically hand done.
They're all to fancy for my tastes, but that "nautical " eclipse is to die for!
That purple M2 holy moly!!
That last guitar is 100% on some yakuza boss’s den wall next to his authentic 15th century samurai sword with 27 confirmed period kills …and a few more present day.
The six string bass, the inlay doesn’t just go off the neck onto the body, but it goes up and over the neck pickup cover too.
That Persimmon V is gorgeously sick! Not overly done like some of the others, but the craftsmanship is outstanding! Gibson should send a team over to observe how true craftsmanship and quality control are done…..

The natural to purple burst Snapper is sooo beautiful. I would love that in a 6 string.
Crazy amount of detail on these ESP’s.....very impressive!🎸

That 6 string bass is bad ass.

Man, Im a sucker for the arrow shape. Too bad most of these will never be played.
Those art guitars look like right and left hand versions! That might be a first!
All hail ESP they are just pure works of art. Fantastic!!
EVH’s Kramer sold for $4 million. Yikes! I can’t afford that.
ESP is second to none when it comes to their custom shop.
These are some of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen.
Looks like someone at ESP watches Ben at Crimson Guitar
I think the tuner bushing that resses to the headstock have to be appriacte too
Some are a bit too busy and many are not my style, but no doubting the craft and skill that has gone into making these. Did like the fish swimming in the stream -- a nice touch.
I love purple, and green guitars, so those ones were my favourite.
Nice to see original designs.

Speaking of typos, I love the Les Paul version being "COLOR Natural w/Gold Reaf." Flashback to Revenge of the Nerds, "WTF is Reaf?!" 🤣
WTF is a frush? Nonononono see, you got too many reds..so we get rid of these four and give you fresh new cards....
.....oh sank you!
ESP custom shop destroys the crap Gibson puts out.
The carved ones are of Shinto gods Raijin (thunder god) and Fujin (wind god).
Purple one is fucking sick!
3:25 Esp should sell that beautiful fixed bridge as part of their accessories
Didn't expect that wolf shaped guitar in the beginning 💀
I'm a Fender guy but ESPs are always fun to look at.
Love that eclipse. Very Baroque.
I have one of the custom shop F series ESP guitars and it's super gaudy so I don't play it much. Kind of a case queen really. I break it out to show it off more as an art piece occasionally but that's about it.
But overall what matters is how the neck plays and feels, and the tonal quality you get from the pickups.
Pretty cool stuff I will admit
I appreciate that they managed to make these guitar artful without making them whimsical. Well, ok, the skulls are kinda whimsical.
Love ESP's! Got a few myself! Thanks for this episode!
Snapper seems like a sort of strange name for a model of guitar.

Hey Trogly, have you seen the "thing"? The buckethead thing? I just saw an interesting Guitar world post
Yeah, but the buckethead website never responds so…
Big fan of that first arrow.
Esp is upping everything beautiful wood work im super impressed love the look of the MII's the best
They're great looking guitars, but it's a shame they didn't send you a couple to actually look at in person.

Prices on these haven't been revealed yet, but last year's went for $10k on the low end, $35k on the high end.
I also love love love that multi coloured Mystique
all walnut guitars look so awesome, like The SG

what is the trem system on the first few? does not look like a Floyd. Maybe I am just out of touch with todays gear.
