Thankyou for sharing these amazing forays into the wilderness. I would love to see Les just camping at his favorite spots, comfy with his favorite camping gear, without risking life and limb. Or even just telling stories while he walks his dogs😆 Les you got a fan for life here bro! (I wonder if he ever reads these comments?)
I absolutely adore the sound of Les laughing and screaming with joy when he catches fish or gets a fire going when he is in dire straits. It fills me with so much happiness smiles.
I remember the first time I watched the Norway episode. That's the first, and only, time I've seen a survival expert lose his cool like that. Glad you made it back ok Les!
Les, please start a new survival series on youtube. I used to watch this growing up and it got me into the outdoors even more than I already was. Kids these days need to see this more than ever. None the less, thank you for the best entertainment I had growing up.
when you integrate the psychology of survival and decision making, you step above everyone else talking about survival. Fear and flight or fight changes the equation everytime.
Fantastic video Mr. Stroud. Thanks for continuing to upload during the quarantine. I've been a fan of yours since Survivorman season one. Excellent content.
Dude... Inventory forester in the southeastern US... Experienced the onset of heat exhaustion more times than I care to admit... and yep... scary as hell every time. It catches me at least once every year or so when I get over busy and fail to manage the heat properly. Then the resulting full body cramps in the evening. Worst part of my job for sure. Every year it seems like it gets harder and harder for me to acclimate in hottest months.
after all these decades and experiences in the wild it must still be a humbling and aweing experience to be in such close union with nature. like jeremiah johnson crossing the threshold and returning as "the old man on the mountain" (grandpa walton haha)
please les i need more survivorman! absolutely love your show and videos, have watched them at least 20 times each. my favorite are the director's commentaries due to the behind the scenes look at how your episodes are made, hope there are more to come.
I used to bridge fish a ton in the Florida Keys back in the day, and in the Everglades. First of the incoming, and last of the outgoing (tides). It helps to have a current. Thanks Mr. Les! Be Safe peoples.
Les, Go back and look at the footage you shot of hearing the "sound" in Alaska, Over YOUR right shoulder one can clearly see at least 2 trees shaking violently. Just 2 trees, so it's not the wind. Time stamp 20:45.
Those are not trees. It's just some kind of plant, Cattail maybe, Les brushed the grass against when he sat them down. lol Good eye? You can actually see the grass, he sets down, hit those plants that moved. lol
On being chased: I think that might be a good idea for a show! SERE: Survival Evasion Resistance & Escape! Do the stories from both the pov of the searchers, and the escapees.
@@NicksSkillz too bad it's fake, Les got offered to guest star but he told them if they did it for real he would. He would end up declining because they wouldnt do it
Seriously...who was the very first guy to think of using chocolate on the bottom of a can to intensify the sun light onto some dry brush so he could start a fire.....😳
The soda can with chocolate was cool which is why I dont understand why you didnt like the fresnel lens in the survival kit. It weighs significantly less than a can and requires no polishing. Fits anywhere because it's like a millimetre thick. Best thing anyone should keep in their wallet. They are $3 a dozen on ebay. Can light a fire in seconds.
where I live sun barely skims horizon in winter and temps well below freezing... magnifying lens may not even work on charcloth in winter at times. that said I have dozen of them all over my equipment. Also have those dental floss cards with two needels and few fishingflies ducktaped to it, put the flies in a small envelope out of parafin soaked paper (great tinder), otherwise you may strip the fetehers... when picking them from the tape. Each fly has a 50cm piece of flourocarbon tippet on it, fish around here can be skittish.
I wish he would do more training with the search and rescue teams! Those are so interesting and useful for SAR. Recreating lost hiker stories is a good learning opportunity too in order to see what he would do differently
that last comment about how wilderness isnt out to get you, its benign and unbiased. It's somehow more foreboding than if the wilderness actually was out to get you. It's a real humility and reality check for humans. We aren't anything special in the face of nature.
Les, what medication did you have to ultimately take for your turtle parasitic infection?? Was it the common medicine Mebendazole?? For how long were you taking it??
Where is your cabin? Just in general. Wondering if this is strictly an Alaskan phenomenon or if anyone else in NY has heard this? I believe my brother has.
My survival trick when I get creeped out at night time is going in each direction and saying"i live here too, I live here too, I live here too, I live here too," and idk why but it makes me feel better doing that. Makes me feel like I have a place here and just calms me
9:34 I really wish he would learn the "Wim Hoff breathing method" that (proven) can keep people from freezing while wearing shorts in the Arctic, for his own sake
The blurred products are hilarious. Is it a network thing "we didn't get paid for this product placement so the still obviously a pringles can needs to be blurred!".
When can we expect Directors commentary with you and your son? The Tofino episode, such a beautiful episode and was crazy to watch being that I only lived a few hours from there
I loved this show from the first season. The editing is great and there is no pussy shit or cheating. I know there was an emergency crew 80km away, but they weren't there holding the camera like that other fella at the hotel, the one that drinks pee.
Sorry Les, but your Bigfoot call was a bear/moose with a bird doing the vocals. There is no giant undiscovered primate anywhere in the world. The last species discovered was in 1912 (?) in the remotest pats of Africa. 1912!!! And when the gorillas were discovered, there was no "mystery" that they were real. I think in 2020, it's literally impossible for a major primate to remain undiscovered. All we have is romantics who "heard" something. Birds...
Also, les stroud is the pioneer of instruction on the survival. I believe most of us credit you with that. You started a rage man. GG on ya and may your riffs be plenty. Your show sparked a lot of us. :)
Those loud ape noises you heard in Alaska are the same we hear in the the mountains in California. I've actually brought two individuals who have never met before and had similar experiences hearing these sounds in the same canyon in different times. Some things we can't explain, human ignorance makes us believe we know everything. Stay safe les
The Arctic Char moment was clearly one of the most emotional verging on spiritual moments I've seen Les go through.
I was just thinking that
we need more Les Stroud on television .... always need more survivorman

Saw this and stopped what I'm doing....you have to for survivorman
Stop and do the Zone of assessment 😂
Scratching the Survivorman itch we all have. Thanks Les, I've watched you since childhood.
Les. You are an icon. You make Canadians proud!
Him and Ricky
Les, I'm an army vet that suffered a heat stroke in 2010. I feel your pain I love your videos. God bless.
Awesome. I remember most of these but it was great to revisit them.
When you are sat on the shore , laughing after catching the char , I don't know why , but I got a bit emotional !!! Awesome

Every time I watched Les eat food, no matter how gross, it always made me hungry.

I just ordered the 20th anniversary film collection, Can't wait to get it
20 years my where has all the time gone?
So did I. Though its delivery date has been pushed back a couple of times, my excitement hasn’t subsided. Can’t wait to binge.
Here after listening to tons of episodes of the confessionals and tons of episodes of the Sasquatch chronicles 💪💪👍
About nights being the hardest, that’s exactly how having a newborn was. Those nights truly were survival. I love all your work so much!
Hahaha everyone knows that sour cream and onion pringles

I can't thank you enough for uploading these videos. Please continue to make more videos.
What a great episode.
Had a dream you were in a camper with a windshield broken out, and you were actually just surviving in someones back yard haha
Parasite story was unfinished. What did the expert do or say? How did you heal? So many questions!
Hi survivor man. Your my kind of people. I will always watch whatever you do.
This episode is fabulous. I loved it!
By far my favorite survival show of all time. Because its real. Theres soo many fake ones. Bear Grylls.. lol
