Flett from Flotta, Wings & Battle of Waterloo by Huntly Pipe Band outside Braemar Gathering Pavilion

Huntly & District Pipe Band playing a series of bagpipe marches outside the newly opened Braemar Highland Games Centre and Duke of Rothesay Pavilion in Summer 2019. The band are led here by Drum Major Derek Dean and Pipe Major Ian Stuart, and the tunes include "Flett from Flotta", "Wings" and the "Battle of Waterloo". Huntly Pipe Band are based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, and they wear Gordon tartan.

The tartan we wear is the Gordon tartan.
Huntly and District Pipe Band (originally named Strathbogie Pipe Band) has close affinities with the regiment and was formed in 1948 by Gordon Highlanders returning home from the Second World War. The 4th Duke of Gordon raised the Gordon Highlanders in 1794 and Huntly is considered by many to be the home of the regiment. The Gordon Highlanders went on to become one of the most renowned fighting outfits in the British army with successful campaigns in many far flung corners of the world.

@@CESBOX What differ the Stewart tartan from the hunting Sinclair tartan? I'm clan Sinclair, hence me asking. I also know there was at least one intermarriage between our clans' main lines. Perhaps the tartans were inspired by one another... oh well, I'm swedish so I might be excused my relative ignorance on the tartans subject 🙂. Interesting topic though, I ought to educate myself.
