I must admit, when people say "nothing really happens" triggers me, because a lot of stuff happens in these movies and its not even subtle most of the time, its just more like emotional/internal sort of conflict as the characters go through the "mundane".
I absolutely love and adore slow cinema. Some that I can mention that were not in the video are definitely "Before" trilogy movies and "Little Forest" (both Japanese and Korean versions). And I know that Studio Ghibli movies wouldn't be considered as a slow cinema, but at the same time in every Ghibli movie there is at least one scene when it takes "a breather" which for me feels like a slow cinema moment.
one of my favorite movies that lives in this realm of “Nothing realy happening” are the films of Kelly Reichart. I saw First Cow & Showing up and was swaddled in the warm hug of those films vibes and how slowly the characters come to actualize themselved through their relationships. Aso the films of Wong Kar Wai specifically Chunking Express. People often throw out these films as pretentious but I think filmmakers challenging audiences to contemplate themes rather than be simply entertained. Another one to check out is Person to Person a quirky ensamble piece that is just a funny vibe.

I'd say at least 75 percent of these don't qualify as slow cinema. I mean, Florida Project is one of my favorite films but it's so far away from slow cinema.
Not wrong! Inititially I didn't mean for the video to be about Slow Cinema exclusively, just a loose category of films that are minimal and slow-paced that ended up including Slow Cinema, then I chose the title out of convenience and because it sounds like a good approximation. But you're spot on most of the examples don't strictly qualify.
