I prefer VOO using Questrade and Norbert's Gambit to avoid exchange fees. ER 0.03 and no 15% withholding tax on foreign dividends while held within an RRSP (not TFSA). So VOO has a 15% higher dividend and a 0.06 lower management fee compared to VFV.
unlike schd, voo is not a high-dividened ETF. if u already have USD then.voo is the goto, but converting to USD and buy voo is not worth the hassle IMHO and I have stopped doin' it
@@pmc89 in an RRSP you avoid the 15% withholding tax because of the foreign dividends. In a TFSA they hold back 15% of the dividend income. Depending on portfolio size it may or may not be all that significant.
@isaiah_b_3798 Thanks for your response my friend. Not sure how are we supposed to know about all these intricacies. I was planning to buy it in my Questrade TFSA account. Now I will go ahead and create an RRSP account to buy VOO
I am screwed. I have Scotia mutual funds as part of my RRSP. I had not realised the 2% fee accounts for the ENTIRE INVESTMENT, not for interest or anything. I need to move them out of Scotiabank. 2% is outright thievery. Imagine keeping that money from MY money? Eff you!
which ETF do you prefer? $ZSP or $VFV?
ZSp to support canadian banks
Nice! Good methodology
they hold the same stocks, but i like vanguard better as a company so i chose vfv
Fair enough!

Me too!

How did you figure that you had to buy a VOO under RRSP and not TFSA?

Is it OKAY or advised rather to invest in both? And how much monthly should i invest into? If im low income
Someone answer this man’s question
Just invest in zsp because if you invest in both you’ll pay double fees
I hope one day you will make a video on how to buy voo or any us etf for begginers TIa
i started with ZSP then moved to horizons s&p 500 etf because its more tax efficient
I’ve heard that! Haven’t looked into it but will do

That’s how they get ya!

They did indeed. I was not paying attention as I had major family concerns at the time.
Scotia Mutual funds duck, I pulled out my money in 2019.
@@jftrottier7376
I cannot pull mine. They are part of my RRSP.
I have 20k in vfv for my tfsa and 10k of voo in my rrsp cheers!
Nice work!
So let me get this right you transfered money from your TFSA to your stock and consider that TFSA savings? I'm learning 😮😅
Prefer zsp simply due to having more options trading
Can actually do the poor man's covered call with it
Voo in tfsa or taxable accounts. Or you can’t claim taxes
I have zsp . Both are good .
compare semicondutor & cyber ETF
ZSP is half the price. If you invest 10k, don't you get double the dividends than if you invest in VFV?
No, not how it works haha
I would probably go with the larger aum. More liquid. If its all apples to apples in terms of fees and dividends.
zsp 🎉
VFV
