Just to let you know, I enjoy the Solis content. I am about a year away from seriously picking a compact tractor, Everything you post helps in the accumulation of facts. Keep up the good work!!
Dan, that is awesome, thank you for sharing that! I think its just a matter of keeping the content fresh and varied which has been a challenge this year, but I have a good mix coming over the next month which sprinkles other content with Solis content. Thanks for the continued support!
It's killing me that it sits there... When i finally do get my butt down there to see your place I'm sure I'll take away some inspiration to get it out and get cranking... I was just told by a forester that the hillside of white pines, next to my pond, need to come down. That was part of my plan when I bought it, so now I need to get to felling some trees... :-)
My building is 40X50 and I had 5 1/2 " of spray foam done with 10' ceiling and R30 wool blown in the attic. I think about 8 candles will keep it warm lol. Really tho I use an electric furnace set at 70 all winter and the light bill goes up a little over 20 bucks a month. Don't ask me how I know, but the longer you don't do anything to the building inside, the harder it's gonna be to actually get it done. Form a plan around your budget and no matter how small a task get something done every time you are there. This is not a knock on you just years of experience trying to be helpful. I hope you understand as I do enjoy following you guys 😊
Heat it with candles, lol, that sounds awesome! Haha. When you say electric furnace are you saying like a full HVAC or like a space heater? I failed to mention that HVAC is another biggie for me to tackle. I want to heat both upstairs and downstairs but don't need it on full time. Spray foam sounds like the way to go for the upstairs but we were getting crazy high quotes for like 2" of foam. I suppose maybe its pay now and save on bills forever... All really good advice Jim, much appreciated and I hope by now you realize we are always open to input!
@@HardyBrothersOutdoors I don't have the air hooked up but could if needed. I run a couple dehumidifiers and leave the big garage doors closed as much as possible It actually stays pretty nice in there even as you know our summer heat was awful this year in Ohio. Your situation is different than mine tho with the upstairs you would want to get air
WOW! Interesting update! I haven't watched your channel for a while, but this video showed up on my feed. I don't have any insulation recommendations other than just about everybody I know that put up a metal building has loved having spray foam in it. Pricy, but might be the way to go. Best of luck to you, your brother and all your family!
Welcome back Mark and thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. The barndo is a project for the years to come... lol Appreciate the well wishes and hope all is well with you!
that's probably the quickest and easiest approach. I was just concerned with the existing layer of insulation and adding a layer and possibly causing sweating and longer term mold as an issue. Probably worrying about nothing, but it all comes with the territory of not fully understanding how it all works. I think the gist of the feedback so far is... get off yur butt and do something... lol which is true :-)

Where does the walk in freezer going?
Ah, I failed to mention that, but the plan is back there where the pile of insulation is sitting... I have the plans just need to make it happen!
Wing it, use bats. Most bats say which side is interior and exterior.
