Having well-lit headlights on your vehicle is very important. Overtime your headlights can dim or go out and you will need to replace them. When you're replacing your headlights, if you touch them with your bare hands, this will shorten the life span of your bulb. This video shows you what to do if you accidently touched it.

From what im reading its not an issue with incandescent or leds, only halogen because they get wayyy hotter than the other bulb types.
