Best instructional video on the channel yet. Robbie and I had talked about this very topic late in 2020. My forehand which usually is fairly good was struggling. Robbie relayed the palm up reward and I figured out I was cutting off my follow through and my forehands have been super smooth and reliable in 2021. Thanks Robbie!

Wow, you throwing sitting on your cart was an eye opener about really using your wrist for forehands. Thanks!

Here I am, back in time (more than a year later than the publishing date) at Robbie's request via a link back, loving the content as always... but regretting UA-cams inability to spend some of the billions they make from us providers on some simple features like the ability to edit an uploaded video to say, increase (normalise) the volume.
It's about as frustrating as their inability to remove fraud accounts uploading the same 10 sec stolen videos hundreds of times, or the ones that steel your channel icon and spam tour subscribers from a fake account with "congratulations, contact us" comments (Like GMBN Tech is plagued with at the moment.. ok so I'm also a MTB rider).
Keep up the excellent content Robbie.

    Love your videos, Robbie.
I have played disc golf for just over one year (living in Norway, so about eight active months).
This season I took my game to the next level by evolving my forehand (broke my right ankle in December, so I could only throw forehand until mid June). Especially my stand still approach with an overstable putter (Zone for me).
But suddenly, like over night, I messed up my form or something. All my forehand throws started flopping and most of them either went anhyzer cut roller or weak shots that missed the line. I used to not think about my elbow, run up or wrist, it was just muscle memory. Now i feel like I have to learn these skills again from the beginning.
Thanks to your video, I am once again making progress with my forehand.
You are great teacher, and I hope you keep it up (coming from a school teacher 😊).

Another great Robbie C. beginner clinic. Having taught F.H. for many years now, fwiw , if you want to learn it right from the start....start here. I might add that since SO much depends on just the release off the pad of your middle finger and the wrist flick, you might want to try lots of discs to find those that release clean for you.

I got hit by a red light runner while riding a motorcycle. I sucked at throwing drives before the accident. Now a year later, my right leg is still messed up and I still use one crutch to walk. I can’t throw RHBH because my pivot leg is technically still broke. So….I’m at a stand still forehand. And I don’t ever throw forehand. After watching your video one time my throws are about 1.5 -2 times further than I threw the last time I went out to play! I’m here watching this video again. Thanks for the tips, keep up the vids!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Last week I bought my 1st disc set and while practicing, I threw both my fairway driver and my mid range in the bushes at work,so it forced me to really try using my putter since its the only one I have. With that being said, it was a real cheap set so its wasnt that big of a deal. I went out and was throwing anywhere from 180- 220 with a few reaching 240. I really enjoy your videos so keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing more in the future. BTW, I did subscribe.

I learned to throw aerobie super rings before trying discgolf in early 2000. The flatness required to make an aerobie ring fly quickly translated into a nice flat release form for forehand. All my disc golf friends used firebirds because it worked with thier natural anhyzer release. needless to say I prefer forehand and learned to hit many more angles forehand than my friends who relied on the over stability of the firebird to compensate for their anhyzer releases. I have no doubt my friends would not be able to throw an aerobie flat enough to get a footbal field of distance out of it. Aerobies are fun because they fly so far but you have to get the angles just right. I think they are a good learning tool for angle control.

Thank you so much for making this video. I am a newbie, female and in my mid 60's. It was suggested that I throw forehand because of a hip replacement. Don't know if that advice is true, however, I do seem to naturally like the forehand better than the backhand. Can't seem to get my feet to work correctly on any of these throws (except for stand still putting). Too much to learn all at once for this old gal!
I plan on trying to throw forehand sitting down. The technique I'm using now is to just shift my weight from the back foot to the front foot. Doing this, I am able to throw the disc about 20 feet. That isn't a typo, only 20 feet! Can't wait to try the chair. I hope to get at least 50 ft! Not looking for huge distances but getting my form correct from the beginning.

So accurate!! I began my journey in disc golf throwing 6 speeds fairly well forehand. I got excited and purchased a Raider (13 speed) and I loved it so much I just kept throwing it. Now my Dragon and other lower speed drivers don't work for me anymore. Without any coaching I just learned how to throw the higher speed discs but barely get any additional distance. My focus will now be on form vs trying to throw my arm out. #iceplease!

This video is perfect! I started playing about 8 months ago and immediately gravitated to the forehand for essentially every drive and even a majority of my upshots. Out of ignorance, I picked up a couple of "pretty" drivers and they worked well for me. Occasionally, I would get a comment from guys on the course saying "tuck your elbow" so I would try to give it a shot. As I became more familiar with disc golf, I realized all of my go-to discs off the tee box are OS drivers that I forced to work because of my natural AH release tendencies. Not to mention, my shoulder will be smashed after several days of playing. SO, I have recently been working on developing a consistent backhand using putters. I stumbled across your putter round video and am now pretty fired up about working both RHBH and RHFH with some putters. It's tough to take a step back when playing tourneys, bag tag rounds, or dubs, but I think it will benefit in the long term! Overall, great video.. can't wait to apply and take my reward!
