This was fantastic! Learned a bunch more about Floor (hey, I rhyme!). Rode the rollercoaster of absolutely beautiful singing and amazing music. This was mind blowing! Thank you Christi! ❤
I didn't catch you live but this is still great. That voice solo got me AGAIN both times, how does Floors voice make a grown man tear up. Thank you for the reaction
So great you finally got to know her beginnings! It was such a great band and Floor was so young but already a master of her craft. I would love if you get to these 2 songs which are earlier in the catalog, from the 2nd album still with Mark Jansen in the band... their style was even more symphonic thanks to his influence -Monolith of Doubt -My Pledge of Allegiance Part 1 There are several others too, like Intrinsic, Follow in the Cry, Beyond Me (with Sharon from Within Temptation)
Thank you so much, Christi! I couldn't join the live stream but I really enjoyed watching this later. So many great comments again. Thank you to all of you. Take care and I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
4:37 Christi: "It's like peeling an onion, there's just more and more layers..." And as you peel that onion it can make you cry, just like Queen Floor!!!!😂
I remember Floor being asked how she keeps herself fit. She answered that she did nothing like workouts, or fitness at all. It is just singing a lot at high intensity.
After Forever was the first band of Mark Jansen (known for his band Epica, no relation) and Floor Jansen. At the moment of this concert in USA (2007) Floor was about 26 yo.
Great reaction, when you go back and look at FLOOR career you see her evolving with each band. Nightwish was the rocket or stepping stone to another level. Now we see Floor, the woman, the rock star, and foremost MOTHER. When I heard that Floor was pregnant and had a baby girl, I wondered if that would somehow changes her out look. From down and dirty hard rock, metal, to a little more elegant Floor. If you have not heard SLOW LOVE SLOW, from her latest concert, you need to. It is a nightwish song but very different, it's kinda like cocktail or bar room song. were the singer comes out and stands beside a piano and sings. You can find the song on her UA-cam channel.
Fil from Pegasus did a track of her live, was interesting to watch. He says she was almost pitch perfect. You might want to catch it! He’s a big geek as well, he does it to many of the most well known artists.
Christi- I've seen several of the live comments about looking at "Bridle Passion", live from Muzeikcafe...she performed there with the Marcel Fisser Band during her solo tour right after the BZ show. I recommended this to you several months ago, but it's a short song, around 3 minutes...might be too short for a reaction? But it is a BEAUTIFUL song, performed acoustically here with Marcel on guitar , with a GREAT message. I think she also performed it in her Amsterdam concert. Here's a link... ua-cam.com/video/LE20mmn4LA0/v-deo.html
There is Amanda Somerville mentioned she is in background of sammets avantasia Farewell she has a more prominent role in. And there are two albums with her and michael kiske of helloween who is also someone worth listening to.
By the way, Christi, you may like to check out the Dutch singer Ellen ten Damme performing a song by Nina Hagen, Naturtränen (Nature's tears). Ellen sings also French and Dutch songs, great talent. ua-cam.com/video/t_Dqrsf4VDo/v-deo.html
Alvvays667, yes this is Joost on keys Always fun to so the amazing After Forever even if it feels been way to long since I saw them live. Back then, they were better then Epica (they still had so much to grow, boy they did!), Within Temptation is different, more fairytale like (although their newer albums are pretty amazing as well). I cannot choose, I adore both Sharon (WT) and Floor (AF) and Simone (Epica). But sure miss the old days wit AF...
pat benatar was classically trained and that is why her voice is so good today when so many from her main era have lost their voices and are living on their reputations.
Interesting your comment on Richard Wagner. The inventor of the symphonic metal is a fan of the Austrian composer. Here's a video ua-cam.com/video/5dCLnGCcya4/v-deo.html of the band that invented symphonic metal, the Swedes of Therion (Christofer Johnson, because the band changes musicians all the time. Only Johnson has been there since the beginning). Another curiosity is that they were a Death Metal band, as Johnson's influence was the Austrian band (like Wagner) Celtic Frost. They are even closely linked to Satanism and the occult. It was from this violent metal that symphonic metal emerged. The bible of this genre is the Deggial album ua-cam.com/video/PDork2kpg9g/v-deo.html (with O Fortuna by Carl Orff). There are simply no solo singers. Only choirs. The Miskolc Experience is a live album with orchestra. There are 10 own songs plus versions by Wagner (4 in total), Verdi (Il Trovatore), Dvörak, Mozard and Saint-Saëns. Here the beautiful Via Nocturna ua-cam.com/video/pTpI4AsP9b0/v-deo.html Horned hand, also known as Maloik or Mano Cornuta. Ronnie James Dio is known for having introduced the gesture to the musical genre when he was in Black Sabbath, starting in 1979. Dio popularized the expression "horned hand". In the documentary "Metal: A headbanger's journey", he makes reference to his grandparents coming from Italy (his last name is Padavona) and that his grandmother used the gesture to ward off or cast an "evil eye" on someone; a very common gesture among the superstitious of the Mediterranean.
don't feel bad because i likeyou best. i saw another reacter who is a singer from russia say that her singing teacher was of the old school method of teaching. said that before singing, you should twirl your head around and loosen up the neck and vocal chords. so you might want to just work your neck around then singing to see if it is true.
Hello, cómo estás? Cuando otra reacción a Mónica Naranjo? Te recomiendo " Perra Enamorada" te dejo el enlace. ua-cam.com/video/WInNaPbB5D4/v-deo.html. Gracias. Saludos desde Maracaibo Venezuela 🇻🇪😘

And working on her farm.
@@okiejohn3925 Remarkable genes.
CHILLS AND TEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really love this song and I'm glad you reacted to it. The bass player from Floor's band, ReVamp, is the bass player for the band Blackbriar (Zora).
After Forever was the first band of Mark Jansen (known for his band Epica, no relation) and Floor Jansen. At the moment of this concert in USA (2007) Floor was about 26 yo.
im going to buy the 15th anniversary of their debut album with nuclear blast hearing those two its such a nice contrast between those two singers

There is a few demo audio songs from 1999. She' was pretty damned good there. 18 yo. A natural born singer.
2007 progressive year, Dark Passion Play and After Forever played on repeat blaring out of my Uni room!
I dare you to learn about that devil music
Hi Christi, for her windmilling, most of the time you see her with her hands on her hips, correct posture is key.
There is Amanda Somerville mentioned she is in background of sammets avantasia Farewell she has a more prominent role in. And there are two albums with her and michael kiske of helloween who is also someone worth listening to.
